Welcome to the new thread! I will copy over links from the previous thread soon.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

Just to add a bit of good news of the statistical variety, this is a graph of average age of hospitalisation in Israel since vaccine roll out. Wouldn’t be amazing if that happened here too!

I love these threads, don't comment much but I read everything!!
Thanks for starting a new one. They're much needed.

Place marking!

Hi everyone. Checking in to the new thread. Read some of the last posts and now want to know which threads are the really bad ones, just for entertainment value you understand! And who is suggesting suing the government? That's mental.

Looking forward to good stats later. A good friend who was contracted to government on roll-out has had to take time off for work related burnout. I know what has been going on behind the scenes, and haven't been able to share much, but they have all worked so hard, and full on, and done so well.

We survived the two funerals last week, and we move on. All was well this morning until I sneezed really hard and put my back out. Now sitting on a hot water bottle and passing the time on MN. Happy days.

Treaclepie19 · 15/02/2021 15:54

Really not sure why I've been offered it then.
I only have a blue inhaler that I use rarely.
I rang to check and they said I'm definitely on the list but not why. My bmi is 30.5 so can't be that either.
Mental health wouldn't be severe enough i wouldn't have thought and I can't see any other reason.

FourTeaFallOut · 15/02/2021 15:57

Has your asthma ever hospitalised you Treaclepie19?

Treaclepie19 · 15/02/2021 15:59

Nope @FourTeaFallOut
It's allergic asthma so I take my inhaler in bouts really.

Shehz21 · 15/02/2021 15:59

With regards to my personal bit of good news, belonging to a BAME background, a lot of DHs family members, relatives, friends etc were all strictly against taking the vaccine just couple of weeks ago. Thankfully DH had a long zoom call armed with all the right information to help increase uptake in atleast our circle of family anf friends and it worked.
Even the most stubborn relatives who are eligible are now booked in for this week and the rest have said they will take the vaccine when it is offered to them. I'm proud to say I used quite a few links from here to help DH spread the word!Smile

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 15/02/2021 16:01

Well done Shehz!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 15/02/2021 16:04

Cases below 10k !!!!!

FourTeaFallOut · 15/02/2021 16:04

I'd just get it done Treaclepie19, it's either a mistake or you've been flagged for reasons you don't know.

Completely taking liberties in offering unasked for advice here, but on the off chance you are allergic to tree pollen start taking your antihistamines now, apparently the swift turn in weather means we could see a pollen bomb.

Loving the new thread title - I’m bringing several large jugs of Pimms to the picnic blanket. All the snow has disappeared overnight, therefore it’s warm enough for Pimms!

@FuzzyPuffling - fantastic news that you’re booked for your jab 🎉

Treaclepie19 · 15/02/2021 16:06

Oh I definitely will. I'd just hate to be queue jumping. I rang and checked so that's all I can can really.
I am allergic to tree pollen so will have to sort sort too! Thanks 😊

cathyandclare · 15/02/2021 16:08

Cases under 10k today!

9765 and 230 deaths. They're always low on a Monday but still a good improvement, cases are down 29% and deaths 26.2% week on week.

FourTeaFallOut · 15/02/2021 16:09

Cases are sub 10k!

Israel is starting to look great, I so hope it's a little glimpse into our future!

FuzzyPuffling · 15/02/2021 16:11

Extra good news from me..George Cat is feeling a lot better and the big swelling on his back is definitely going down.

Oh it's a happy happy day here.

And for anyone who isn't feeling so happy or is having a wobble day, here's Marzipan saying "BOO". (And a handhold too)

Hello allSmile

Eaumyword · 15/02/2021 16:14

Can I join please? I veer between wild optimism and it-will-never-end pessimism, but I do fancy a slice of Victoria sponge on a picnic blanket outside.
I saw snowdrops, daffs and a socking great buzzy wasp today on my walk and got a leaned on dog hug from a FILTHY retriever!

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 15/02/2021 16:14

Signing in. Thanks all
