Great news about schools. DD is going to be over the moon!

I'm officially switching my bubble for the rest of lockdown to see my parents now they've been jabbed, it makes much more sense to see them before schools go back anyway, then again second week easter hols. I'll wait to see my former bubble until 29 March. I think that's fair and careful which it's what it's all about.

tootyfruitypickle · 22/02/2021 06:36

Kids outdoor sport also fantastic! Thank goodness

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 06:39

I cannot wait. So pleased to have basic stuff back! What a lift

Rest of site is oddly very depressing maybe people miss lockdown already Confused

tootyfruitypickle · 22/02/2021 06:43

I'm definitely aware my MH has been taking a serious hit the last month. And it being just me and DD, I need to keep it together! I might take a day off March 8 just to try and rebalance a bit . This winter has been the pits hasn't it - and now we have a plan out if it.

FourTeaFallOut · 22/02/2021 06:44

Who knows Marsha? They are a mystery out there.

I'm so pleased the kids are going back to school too. AI hope all those poor kids who a limping through gcse years get all the help that schools can summon.

FourTeaFallOut · 22/02/2021 06:47

Yep, the complete pits tootyfruitypickle Sad Better days ahead though.

TheChineseChicken · 22/02/2021 06:53

Outdoor hospitality from April would be fantastic

TheChineseChicken · 22/02/2021 06:59

Ha ha, I just saw the words ‘Clubs’ and couldn’t work out what that meant

tootyfruitypickle · 22/02/2021 07:01

I wonder if theatres will be socially distanced. I have tickets for July to a non SD london theatre. Had written it off but maybe....

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 07:11

Four I’m hearing you on toys out of pram people

So silly!

Pomegranatespompom · 22/02/2021 07:24

Agree. It’s very bizarre

TheChineseChicken · 22/02/2021 07:26

I’ve just found the thread. Apparently I have imagined the vaccines and the existence of risk groups. Schools opening means we’ll all be locked down again come May Hmm

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 07:27

Unions going on again

Good person on R4 - talking about long term implication of schools not opening are profound

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 07:28

Oh it’s Labour at least they are for schools first

John Ashworth

TheChineseChicken · 22/02/2021 07:29

.. but even worse than that. Hairdressers not until May?

starfish88 · 22/02/2021 07:30

I feel oddly upset about August for holidays. I live outside of the UK but had hoped to see my family again in July. Now I'm feeling down that it's looking less likely. They have already missed so much of DSs first 2 years. Sorry that's not positive, and I know it isn't certain or anythi g yet. I just hope they don't lock it in when they could have ven lower cases by summer but not want to roll back for political reasons.

FuzzyPuffling · 22/02/2021 07:30

But "shielding people, shielding is extended to march 31st". Yet again...."but not you" and of course no real help.

On the good side, I think I feel a bit more human today.

Pomegranatespompom · 22/02/2021 07:34

@starfish88 I feel really upset about holidays but could change to earlier ??

@FuzzyPuffling glad you are feeling better. Shielding is until 31 March ??

starfish88 · 22/02/2021 07:38

I hope it does, if the data is good.. I just worry that once they have said August it becomes self fulfilling. I hope not. I just want to see my family again. I feel really down today. I'm not sure why. I need some chocolate I think

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 22/02/2021 07:38

29th March for organised adult sport - dare I dream of parkrun on Easter Saturday?

Pomegranatespompom · 22/02/2021 07:41

It’s so hard @starfish88 🙁
The 4th lockdown predictions are almost gleeful.

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 07:41

Oh god Pom I know

All the lockdown people going on about next one. Awful

TheChineseChicken · 22/02/2021 07:43

I understand. We had a big family holiday rearranged from last May half term to this one, which we all naively assumed would happen. Looks like it won’t know, which is a huge shame. We’re all allowed to be disappointed about seemingly selfish things as those are what make us happy. Plus seeing family is one of the most important things
starfish88 · 22/02/2021 07:44

I'm glad you're feeling better @FuzzyPuffling

HalleLouja · 22/02/2021 07:50

They really are. The same people who said the vaccines would never work...
