Welcome to the new thread! I will copy over links from the previous thread soon.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

Checking in to shiny new thread. Thank you.

After a foggy start this morning the sun is now starting to show. The fields are green. My spirits have been lifted.

I know its not a weather thread, but it feels like a nice sign of hope.

GrumpySausage · 15/02/2021 12:46

Checking in :) All the 'oldies' in my family have now been vaccinated so feeling grateful. The next two to be vaccinated will be me and my husband (34) so i don't expect that any time soon. But feeling much happier knowing the older generation are safer.

Thanks for the new thread Interfectorem. I am enjoying imagining a magic picnic blanket which expands to infinite size for those who like good news but if you doom monger your part disappears from under you leaving you sitting on mud.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 15/02/2021 12:55

Can I come and join you? Most of this place has gone batshit crazy.

I'll bring cake?

FuzzyPuffling · 15/02/2021 12:56

Thanks for the new thread InterfectoremVulpes.

Today I took DH for his blood tests at the GP. It was done (in the car) by a lovely HCA, who knows our medical history and is a general good egg. DH said I was anxious about vaccines and asked if she could check that I had been flagged as Group 6, so I could be in line after the over 65s are done here.

We got home...an hour later the phone rings..."I've booked you in for your vaccine (at the town with a Waitrose Dobby) next Saturday morning".

How bloody, bloody brilliant is that? She needs to run the whole NHS, she's so efficient, kind and understands chronic illness.

And it's 11 degrees ans sunny here today.

All in all I could cry with relief.

Ticking off close family members who have been jabbed and despite radio 2 being decidely negative all the time, I remain hopeful.

Just wanted to say hello and thank you.

I’m usually a lurker but I love this thread, it really helps me to stay positive so thank you all 💐

Ps. @FuzzyPuffling great news, I’m really pleased for you

LivinLaVidaLoki · 15/02/2021 13:08

For the first time in months, I've felt bright and hopeful this weekend.
Didn't Jonathan Van Tam say last year that non pharmaceutical intervention would be personal choice in the spring?
Vaccination is going well, infections are falling, hospitalisations are falling and this is a seasonal virus. For the first time in MONTHS I don't feel "grey".
Even the doom mongering berk from imperial college has said this will be the last lockdown.
But out there.....why are they so determined that this will be our lives going forward. That we will be back in lockdown as soon as we are out of it like back in the winter? Despite us being in a completely different place now?
Im staying here and sticking with good news only. ((plants arse firmly down on blanket))

Pomegranatespompom · 15/02/2021 13:12

I am so pleased to see your news @FuzzyPuffling

FuzzyPuffling · 15/02/2021 13:14

Thank you all for your cheering along with me! Especially thatgingergirl and her mates. I love them!

I don't like being the "squeaky wheel" but it certainly does get the oil.

OliveTree75 · 15/02/2021 13:15

I think I need to stay here too. It is much calmer here Smile

GrumpySausage · 15/02/2021 13:17

That's great news @FuzzyPuffling Flowers

Amazing @FuzzyPuffling!

Can I have a gentle kick please?
I've been so excited to get my vaccination and now it's booked for Thursday I'm all wobbly. Not over the actual jab. I haven't concerns over safety or anything, I just struggle with health anxiety and ocd and will panic over various things when it comes to anything new.

I'm 30 so really didn't expect to get the call!

starfish88 · 15/02/2021 13:19

Good to see you over here @LivinLaVidaLoki and thanks for the new thread @InterfectoremVulpes

LivinLaVidaLoki · 15/02/2021 13:20

Oh hi @starfish88!

😂😂😂😂

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 15/02/2021 13:23

Treaclepie, I don’t have personal experience of health anxiety but it seems natural to me that finally getting the vaccine would unlock some pretty big emotions so I am not surprised you feel wobbly x

It will all be fine (but you know that Smile)

Thank you, yeah that makes sense. I'm worrying over whether I already have covid and shouldn't have the vaccine. Anyway, it's amazing to be offered it and I'm focusing on that. DH hasn't heard anything yet so must be my (mild) asthma that's pushed me ahead.
FuzzyPuffling · 15/02/2021 13:30

Treaclepie you don't need a kick, more of a handhold. You're doing the right thing for yourself, your family and society and should be hugely proud of yourself.
