So daft but for me.....IKEA.

I want the familiarity of being corralled around the warehouse, picking up some tea lights and sandwich bags and some meatballs.

I miss IKEA.

Going to Ikea tomorrow (not in the UK)! 🙂

cheninblanc · 12/02/2021 14:54

Primark, ikea and the little gift shop in our village. I love her handbags, scarves and wine glasses and want everything I've been looking at in the window since December!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/02/2021 15:19

John Lewis. Just to look at all the different brands, browse makeup and perfume (that's probably a long way off, I know), then have a coffee in the cafe. God, I am SO FED UP with it all now.

RedToothBrush · 12/02/2021 15:25

Fab. A list of shops to avoid for at least a month after lockdown because they will be rammed!!!

I'm genuinely not too fussed tbh.

I can get stuff online.

Will be nice to just go anywhere and browse when things improve slightly more.

sausagepastapot · 12/02/2021 15:40

TK Maxx

Bedforme · 12/02/2021 16:50

Oh and Wilkinson’s - not sure if it’s open now as does food, but I can’t go.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 12/02/2021 17:00

Im looking forward to being able to just wounder round our local shopping center with the kids, or the garden center or even just tesco. I really miss being able to take my children anywhere just for the sake of getting out the house.

Redcrayons · 12/02/2021 17:11

@Bedforme ours is open, but as one of the few shops open in the town there’s always a queue round the block to get in.

thriftyhen · 12/02/2021 18:22

Charity shops!

Pandoraslastchance · 12/02/2021 18:23

Aldi 😍 I'm in the ecv so I've not been able to go since this all started. I miss the middle isles.

Oh and charity shops!!!

Grapesoda7 · 12/02/2021 18:24

Primark and Homesense

speakout · 12/02/2021 18:25

Charity shops- without a doubt.

WaltzingTilda · 12/02/2021 18:28

I am looking forward to taking dd (3) to the supermarket (Tesco) where I can push her in the trolley and she can help me weigh stuff and we can have a look at the toy isle together. Sad isn't it!

Timeandtune · 12/02/2021 18:41

Am looking forward to John Lewis( my happy place ) reopening. Just a wee browse amongst the laundry and kitchen items and a wee coffee in the cafe. Also Lakeland. Go in for 1 thing come out with loads.

MrsFezziwig · 12/02/2021 18:41

In a similar vein to a few PPs, Corte Inglés department store in Valencia (I live in Yorkshire) Blush

More realistically I’ll settle for TKMaxx (there are some plates I saw on the day before lockdown which were too heavy to carry home), Primark (T-shirt season is approaching) and my favourite little charity shop to drop stuff off. I do take decent stuff but they are always really pleased to accept things, unlike some of the snooty ones you read about on here.

Pandoraslastchance · 12/02/2021 18:41

Oooohhh and primark.

WaltzingTIlda, not sad at all!

I'm looking forward to an hour or two by myself in Aldi.

Joisanofthedales · 12/02/2021 19:54

I miss wandering around the high street and then stopping for coffee.
I also miss rummaging in the bargains section of Aldi.

MaryShelley1818 · 12/02/2021 20:36

I just want to go to the Metrocentre for the day....start off with IKEA. Then into the main centre-look in Next, Primark, Cafe Nero, Lego Store, Disney Store, Boots. Then lunch in the Big Lukes buffet with DH, DS (age 3) and new baby DD who is 10 days old and has no idea what she has been born into! Roll on Spring.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 12/02/2021 20:45

Does the hairdressers count?
they do sell shampoo & stuffGrin

Gallery shops - because if the shops are open, so are the galleries & exhibitions.
(and on that basis, the Zoo shop)

speakout · 12/02/2021 20:48

Dentist.

I haven't been able to get a check up for a year. Level 4 Since Feb

bridgetjones1 · 12/02/2021 20:52

Not shops as such but just to be able to go for a coffee & a cake with my nearly 2 year old twins, soft play, Yorkshire wildlife park, Cannon Hall Farm, play parks, i just need to be able to go places with the girls. We’re all going stir crazy in the house & garden

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/02/2021 20:56

IKEA my son has bounced on his bed so much it broke. So need a decent cheap strong bed.

Mostly I miss sitting in a cafe near a window. Having a bit of lunch. Whilst the baby sees the world go by. She misses that too

Notonthestairs · 12/02/2021 21:09

It's not a shop but I really, really want to go to the cinema. Very grateful for Netflix but going to the big screen and planning our snacks/who needs the loo/ etc is going to feel exotic!

Yugi · 12/02/2021 21:12

I want to go to a cafe and sit for ages reading a book and sipping a drink and eating cake. And just relax somewhere that isn’t home

confusednortherner · 12/02/2021 21:15

Bed shop, our mattress was on its last legs before Xmas but I didn't want to go near a shop and were trying to save. We were gifted some cash and can now afford a nice new one but can't try any, I go to bed every night dreaming of my new bed!
