So daft but for me.....IKEA.

I want the familiarity of being corralled around the warehouse, picking up some tea lights and sandwich bags and some meatballs.

I miss IKEA.

I don't go shopping if I can help it because I just don't enjoy it.
The only place I go is to get my nails and eyebrows done once a fortnight. I can not wait to go back there

happymummy12345 · 12/02/2021 10:48

It's the only place I want to go

huggzy · 12/02/2021 10:50

Also IKEA!

rainbowdashsneeze · 12/02/2021 10:52

Absolutely anywhere.... I'm seriously losing it. Everything is falling apart completely I need my life back!!

FatCatThinCat · 12/02/2021 10:53

IKEA a full day out. Hour and half drive arriving in time for an early lunch. Lunch in the restaurant then a meander round the show floor. Then fika (coffee and cake) in the restaurant. Bung DS in the play area and mooch about the market area. Collect DS and icecream/hot dog from the food shop. Drive home and unpack all our treasure.

CeeJay81 · 12/02/2021 10:56

I'm looking forward to coffee places more than shops. Some of the shops I want to visit are already open, but due to having not having a car and living rurally, I can't justify going on the bus to home bargains. Never been to an Ikea cause I don't drive and it's like 80 plus miles away.

moolady1977 · 12/02/2021 10:57

My favourite cafe so I can go for breakfast with my dd and my dgd then to a little clothes shop that although I can't fit in any of the clothes do wonderful boots and handbags ,I'm also looking forward to charity shops opening up as I have loads of things to get rid of

FatCatThinCat · 12/02/2021 10:57

DS desperately wants to go to the pick and mix shop up the road. For those of you not familiar with Swedish pick and mix, we have whole supermarket sized pic and mix shops. It's sugar heaven.

La Bouqueria market, Barcelona - who knew fruit and veg could look so beautiful.
Rialto market, Venice - to drool over leather gloves.
Any shop at all in Bath.

alltheadrenalin · 12/02/2021 11:00

Another fellow charity shopper here. Would love a carboot as well.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 12/02/2021 11:05

Margaret Howell - either on Wigmore Street or the one in South Kensington. I almost never buy anything in the actual shops (that's what online sales are for,) but they're so calming and civilised to amble around. And then the treat of Wigmore Hall or the Conran Shop afterwards.

God, such bliss. I even miss the Tube. Sad

How. Much. Longer?

CoodleMoodle · 12/02/2021 11:05

Agree with Primark and Charity shops. I also want to go to B&M and The Range without feeling guilty!

And the library. I used to take the DC every week and we all miss it.

No particular shop, but I can't wait to start browsing all the small non food shops that have been forced to close. I'm utterly fed up of supermarkets. I'll be splashing my cash at small independents to help them bounce back from covid, especially seeing as so many of them have received very little support from the govt and have had to fight for discretionary local council grants, often for just a few hundred pounds when their premises-related costs are thousands or tens of thousands.

moominmomma1234 · 12/02/2021 11:09

Tut ! When I saw this post I thought I hope people are not wanting to go to IKEA because I need to return something as soon as it opens and I don’t want it being busy ! Looks like it’s gonna be heaving !

manyhorror · 12/02/2021 11:11

John Lewis here too

Doomsdayiscoming · 12/02/2021 11:16

Primark.

Those slave kids on furlough in Indonesia must be bored.

Thewiseoneincognito · 12/02/2021 11:20

Harrods. Can. Not. Wait. Online personal shopping service just doesn’t hit the same. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

LetItGoGo · 12/02/2021 11:21

I was wondering if Harrods will survive with no tourism.

Chewingle · 12/02/2021 11:22

John Lewis and Lakeland

M&S - I have been to almost every day for months as one of the few shops open. Sick of it!!

JKW36 · 12/02/2021 11:23

Charity shops for me!

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 12/02/2021 11:24

The main IKEA store isn't open but the food market is, our local one anyway. So you can indulge that longing for meatballs and Daim bars!

Abracadabra12345 · 12/02/2021 11:24

I’d have said Debenhams and Wallis but they have gone. I used to love having a tea and cake in Debenhams and looking around their collections.

But what I desperately miss is the cinema. Our Vue was cheap, amazingly comfortable and you could lose yourself in the film. Then tea and a cake and a browse afterwards. Perfect for a cold or rainy day

TeaAddict235 · 12/02/2021 11:28

Dunelm , Charity shops, Homebargains & Costa for DH (where he escapes while I go to the aforementioned)

User7458 · 12/02/2021 11:28

John Lewis, we need new carpets so I want to browse those and raid the sample drawers, also want one of those round garden pod things as decided to spend on the garden as international hols will probably be difficult for the foreseeable.and apparently one of the pods is on show in JL

ItisLikethis · 12/02/2021 11:28

Charity shops, mainly. H&M, Primark, Mountain Warehouse.

I'm not even that much of a 'shopper', but I do miss browsing.
