So daft but for me.....IKEA.

I want the familiarity of being corralled around the warehouse, picking up some tea lights and sandwich bags and some meatballs.

I miss IKEA.

Homesense and IKEA, I miss Homesense the most though 😭

Ponoka7 · 12/02/2021 09:23

Another vote for Primark. Their bras are a perfect fit. I'm hoping that they manage to get good stock levels in my size. Locally, TKMaxx. I'm going to really miss Debenhams, it was great for trying on and make up samples.

trunumber · 12/02/2021 09:23

Primark - they do my favourite Mascara

Ginfordinner · 12/02/2021 09:24

What country are you in @Rosehip10? C & A closed in the UK many years ago.

I just want to mooch around any shop TBH, but my vote will be for an unmumsnetty M and S Grin

FlorisFigure · 12/02/2021 09:26

Selfridges for an Espresso Martini.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 12/02/2021 09:27

Charity shops, I have a big pile of books that I still haven't read, I could get one delivered tomorrow on Amazon prime, people lend me books but it still doesn't replace the joy of a good charity shop discovery of an author you love or a book you've been meaning to read.

InsaneLockdowner · 12/02/2021 09:28

It was Debenham and I liked Dorothy Perkins, Monsoon and Warehouse but they've all gone.
I guess charity shops. I do love the surprise of never knowing what you'll find.

covetingthepreciousthings · 12/02/2021 09:29

Charity shops!

I'd also really love to go somewhere like a Waterstones with a cafe..
I really miss quite a few of our little local indie shops that have had to close too.

I'm worried about what will be left by the end of this lockdown.

Have Monsoons all closed too ??

Jeans shopping! I did pick up a pair of jeans from the M&S sale rail as I was doing food shopping a could of weeks ago because I was so desperate and they almost fit, but they’re so high waisted that they’re actually uncomfortable to sit down in. Can’t face taking them back though. Can’t wait to be able to try stuff on.

Vanannabananna · 12/02/2021 09:30

I came on to say IKEA!! We are starting a loft conversion and will need lots of stuff in a few months time. Hoping will be open then. I’ll prob ordering stuff online but smaller bits not always available

Susie477 · 12/02/2021 09:31

Pret.

In particular, the branch in Departures at Heathrow T5.

LetItGoGo · 12/02/2021 09:31

None of them: I have got the covid fear too bad!

I'm annoyed with myself tbh but then again I've always been a fairweather shopper. Though I always quite liked a rummage round TKMaxx and a stop off at a cafe.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/02/2021 09:33

Primark... Their longline t-shirts are very handy... All other basic t-shirts don't seem to even make it to my waist.

IKEA as we are moving soon, and we've promised a loft bed for the smaller bedroom

ChocOrange1 · 12/02/2021 09:36

Also IKEA. I would really like some storage cupboards for our kitchen, but they're not available for click and collect at my local shop and obviously I'm not going to drive 80 miles to collect them from the next closest. And their delivery service is terrible (I tried it last year and everything arrived damaged) and very expensive. So I just have to wait.

Also I love taking the kids there for breakfast or meatballs.

StrangerHereMyself · 12/02/2021 09:36

We have two local Prets. Every now and then I go there in my lunch break just because. The queues are always huge so I’m not the only one.

StrangerHereMyself · 12/02/2021 09:41

I went to IKEA in August and it was lovely but the queue to get in was huge, and having to prebook a table in the cafe was more trouble than it was worth (I was on my own wanting a coffee and a cake - I’d have gone to the effort if there were four of us wanting a proper meal). I’m not sure I fancy going back until restrictions are properly lifted.

Daisysflowers · 12/02/2021 09:49

Primark definitely!

IKEA as well, I love a browse there.

Most of the other shops I visit I have bought online and been lucky guessing with the sizes especially with a growing child! Grin

Also looking forward to sitting in a restaurant, having someone wait on me and cook for me! Grin

Snowsnowglorioussnow · 12/02/2021 09:51

TK max/homesense

I need some trainers and sheets.

MiniTheMinx · 12/02/2021 09:57

We have several antique shops here. I miss looking for treasure. After that the pub. I don't miss shopping centres and chain stores, I'd happily never again visit an indoor shopping centre. But I will, because I want to go to the nearest primark and buy shampoo. I found the perfect shampoo and conditioner for my bonce and I shall buy it in bulk just as soon as they open their doors. And tights, and t shirts and mascara. In case of another lock down I will avoid looking like a slightly more mad version of Helena Bonham Carter.

Angel2702 · 12/02/2021 09:59

Primary. My daughter has no clothes that fit she had been making do since before Christmas but has grown even more since then and suddenly nothing fits. Even her stretchy leggings won’t pull up.

Bythemillpond · 12/02/2021 10:00

Not a shop but a pub/cafe/restaurant where I can sit and be served a meal I haven’t had to cook or prepare

BlueJag · 12/02/2021 10:07

I don't miss the shops I miss the coffee shops and my friends.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/02/2021 10:13

Jon Lewis and Caffè Nero

thecatfromjapan · 12/02/2021 10:46

John Lewis, charity shops and cafes.

I think I might cry when I finally get into JL again. I'll be running my fingers across the shiny surfaces of counters and stroking the escalator handrail gently and unobtrusively, whispering how much I've missed being there.

John Lewis closing really felt apocalyptic.
