So daft but for me.....IKEA.

I want the familiarity of being corralled around the warehouse, picking up some tea lights and sandwich bags and some meatballs.

I miss IKEA.

@DragonPoop

Funnily enough primark! I need all new leggings and basic T-shirt, pjs, knickers etc as I’ve lost 10 stone since the first lock down and I’m losing more, so don’t want to spend a lot on things/basics that I know won’t last me long. Plus I’m on a very tight budget at the moment!
Very well done to you. I'm down 2.5 stone now and have a way to go. It's lovely to hear your success. Yes. Primark. Here we come!
whatisforteamum · 12/02/2021 12:57

Primark next and m and s.Luckily I bought 3 lots of pj s before this lockdown so have some new ones for spring.

firstimemamma · 12/02/2021 12:59

Charity shops
Book shop
Local pound-land style shop that sells good, cheap photo frames

StormzyinaTCup · 12/02/2021 13:12

Not a big shopper/browser but now I can’t go I want too.

Love a wander round IKEA though, especially the marketplace. Pre COVID it was nearly always busy but if this thread is anything to go by I suspect it’s going to be some sort of ‘fresh hell’ as soon as the doors open againGrin. I hope they are bracing themselves!!

user686233 · 12/02/2021 13:14

I was missing charity shops but discovered Vinted and it's scratching that itch for me. Much cheaper than eBay with the 99p parcel shop collection option. Browsing on there feels like browsing a huge car boot.

user686233 · 12/02/2021 13:16

I went to Ikea last summer a few weeks after they reopened and the queue was about an hour long to get in. And we hadn't realised the restaurant was closed so that was a huge disappointment when we finally got to it desperate for a sit down.

Nineinchnailfile · 12/02/2021 13:18

As above really.
IKEA, primark, charity shops, Tk maxx

Armi · 12/02/2021 13:27

John Lewis. I want to look at all the lovely things.

MadisonAvenue · 12/02/2021 13:30

Ikea and Primark, plus we have a brand new huge designer outlet village a short walk away from home which was due to open for the first this week after delaying from last year but will now open once it’s able to.

mum2aanda · 12/02/2021 13:32

Selfridges & then just wandering around regent,Oxford & Bond street !

Shelovesamystery · 12/02/2021 13:33

Ikea and primark here too.

emmathedilemma · 12/02/2021 13:33

Card Factory, I really object to paying supermarket prices for awful cards !

faerin · 12/02/2021 13:44

TK MAXX!

DBML · 12/02/2021 13:49

TUI

Illegible · 12/02/2021 13:52

Waterstones. I keep making bad online choices. I need to browse!

Have you not got a good local independent. Ours is great. They’ll do videos of shelves and they try to read everything themselves so have a good idea of what the books are like. They are very good at selecting.
flumposie · 12/02/2021 14:04

T K MAXX. Can not wait for the day I can actually try clothes on in the shop.

AntiHop · 12/02/2021 14:05

I was actually imaging the joy of being in a charity shop this morning.

Debenhams. My favourite clothes shop. I would often go into oxford st to go there. So gutted that it's closed.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 12/02/2021 14:12

TK Maxx. I did a swoop in there when it was open during last summer and it was bliss! I managed to get a wool jumper, new oven gloves, perfume, reusable snack bags, a gorgeous plant holder...so many nice bits and pieces for next to nothing.
I'd also like to go bra shopping. DP gave me money last birthday to get a nice set of underwear and I tried doing it online but ended up sending everything back. I just need a session in a shop with a changing room.
Oh, and also yarn shopping. I'm getting back into knitting and want to make myself a new jumper but I want to be able to squish the yarn first. And picking out colours is so much easier IRL too.

Dyinghouseplant · 12/02/2021 14:15

Definitely H&M and Zara. For me and DS. Hate buying online as we're both between sizes.

Dyinghouseplant · 12/02/2021 14:16

Oh and a perfume shop. Need a new one and I want to be able to smell them!

1990shopefulftm · 12/02/2021 14:17

I want to go to Primark and get my son some clothes, I haven't bought anything for him in person throughout my pregnancy or since he was born and I could do with some supportive jeans with my mum tum but it's difficult to know what fits.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 12/02/2021 14:26

DragonPoop that is incredible, you have lost the size of a person!! Well done to you. I want to go to The Works and Hobby craft mostly but also want to go to so many places! I am fat and short - incredibly short (4"11) so I need to try trousers on to check that I am not going to be stepping on lots of fabric plus my thighs and calves are smaller than my stomach so sometimes jeans etc can look weird with too much space on the legs. It's why I live in leggings but the elasticated waists have just helped me ignore the weight gain!!

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 12/02/2021 14:37

I miss Primark for their pjs but will continue to just shop online until it’s much safer.

Ragwort · 12/02/2021 14:50

Not the same as a real 'High Street' charity shop but Oxfam Online has fab bargains - clothes, books, music etc. Well worth a look.
