I think it's just first come first served. I emailed them a couple of days ago on the off chance and got the morning of their first day.

Daftapath · 25/03/2021 22:32

I was put on their priority list as I had already been offered the nhs vaccine. I don't know how they are offering appointments once the priority list has been completed

Monkeygirl68 · 26/03/2021 06:37

For those of you who have contacted their centres about appointments, what have you asked? I’ve found the receptionists to be less than useful and don’t seem to know anything? Should I ask to speak to the trial doctor again, do you think?

Bradford receptionists have been brilliant and very on-the-ball. I got offered a vaccine and rang them the day they were ringing round anyway. Was able to book for April 13.
PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 26/03/2021 08:19

I just emailed them asking if I could book an appointment yet and they replied straight away saying yes, we're just doing them now. When would you like?

Hey, I emailed the centre to ask when it was likely to be booking appointments - got a call about 10 minutes later.
Monkeygirl68 · 26/03/2021 10:34

I called this morning. They said they are still awaiting the go ahead, but will be starting April 7th to make bookings and it was all a bit ‘manic’ there. At least I have some sort of rough date of when to expect a phone call....

ItsSnowJokes · 26/03/2021 14:35

Bournemouth just called and its been put back a week for crossover. Due to go Tuesday 30th now going Tuesday 6th April.

that's annoying. hopefully it is a local issue and doesn't affect the rest of us but annoying for you all the same.

I have my first appointment for the cross trial on 20 April at Reading

MrsHamlet · 26/03/2021 18:24

I've heard nothing :(

Dreamer1989 · 29/03/2021 14:12

Then ring/email and ask..
Woventabby · 29/03/2021 15:32

I've the appointments for crossover in April, at last. Looking forward to comparing crossover jabs with the first ones from last year. Will they give us a clear indication which ones are real and placebo?

Fingers crossed for people who are still waiting for appointments. Hope you will hear from your teams soon!

Vargas · 29/03/2021 16:06

Soon we'll all be playing that fun game of 'vaccine or placebo' again! Grin

I'm fairly convinced I had the vaccine first time round, it'll be very confusing if I get some side effects again this time...ConfusedBlush

MrsHamlet · 29/03/2021 17:28

They tried to call me today but I was teaching! I'll try tomorrow

I am convinced I had the placebo last time so if I get no side effects this time again I will be so confused!
Frazzled2207 · 29/03/2021 18:31

@ItsSnowJokes
Same here. I am booked in for first thing Thursdays and have told dh he is looking after the kids in the afternoon as I expect to be in bed. Will be somewhat confused if I’m actually fine.

I was at the dentist today who had two employees in trial that had been unblinded and not had the placebo. They both said they had no sideffects from it so it seems to be pot luck. Also more news about the manufacturing sites today www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/gsk-boris-johnson-barnard-castle-uk-government-north-east-b926887.html

EverybodyKeepCool · 29/03/2021 18:53

I have declined the NHS vaccine twice so was put on the priority list at Cheadle. I got a call and have my next appointment on 8th April followed by 29th. Pretty sure I had the placebo first time so will be interested to see how this one goes

My husband felt rough only after his second novavax vaccine so you might be OK after the first. He was convinced he had the placebo but he felt so rough after the second one we are sure he had the vaccine.

Frazzled2207 · 29/03/2021 20:52

@ItsSnowJokes
Ah ok thanks for that. Will block that afternoon out in my diary too then!!

I too will be very confused if I feel unwell on Thursday! Looking forward to it though, I've hated not knowing if I've been vaccinated or not!

Vargas · 29/03/2021 22:55

I only felt rough after the second one too, but it was very short lived. A nap and some nurofen pretty much sorted it.

Easeljeasel · 30/03/2021 00:37

Oh for crying out loud, I can’t believe I’ve only just found this! My novavax people! ❤️😂❤️ So here I am madly googling at 12.20am as I’ve been invited for my NHS jab this week and trying to make the choice of call to ask to be unblinded and go for it, or stick with the trial. Those of you who have been in the same situation, how did you know which way to go? Are we at the stage now where we can have reason to suspect one is better than the other? I’ve always suspected I had the placebo first time round as zero symptoms, but who knows.

Easeljeasel · 30/03/2021 00:41

I should also say I did call to be unblinded and the lovely nurse said meh well I could give you that OR I could just give you an appt on the 6th and another 3 weeks later right now. The NHS will not give you second dose 3 weeks later! True dat! I also felt guilty about withdrawing my contributions to science! 😂
