Partners brother has been ventilated for 3 weeks now.

A little improvement but he got an infection a couple of days ago and everything has gone down hill.

They are removing the vent shortly to let him pass.

Gutted.

@jinglybell

Thank you all so much Flowers

It's been a difficult few days. Today we were told that the funeral will not be until 6th or 8th of April. He died on 6th Feb, it seems such a long time.

No pall bearers, maximum of 20 people and the funeral home won't dress him.

My heart breaks for all the families that have had to go through this.

Goodness that's a long wait Sad

We lost my FIL last week (Covid), funeral is early March. It's been tough arranging it, esp all the little bits like not being able to have FIL dressed how we'd like him etc Sad

Mum4MrA2 · 11/02/2021 00:09

So very very sad. Thinking of you and your family 💐

Unfortunately with higher deaths than usual and some staff away ill delays in funerals are to be expected, although even so that seems a very long delay.

A relative has attended 5 virtual funerals, it is possible in at least some places for them to be recorded for those unable to be there in person.

People respond to grief in different ways, I hope you find the strength you need to get through this.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 11/02/2021 13:39

It's heartbreaking, I'm SO sorry.

Two months is a long time to wait for a funeral, the bit between someone dying & the funeral is very hard.

Sending you all love & strength xx
