I hate the way he talks as if the decisions are out of his control.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 03/01/2021 23:21

I hope he makes the right decision

Lockdown and schools closed

mrsknottschicken · 03/01/2021 23:22

Yeah, well done Boris - decide after putting kids, parents and teachers and other school staff at risk by refusing to listen to advice to close them. Imbecile.

mrsknottschicken · 03/01/2021 23:22

And yes, I hope he makes the right decision too (agree, lockdown and schools closed).

PicsInRed · 03/01/2021 23:23

This is being managed like the school council managing a tuck shop crisis.

bellsbuss · 03/01/2021 23:24

Nobody likes lockdown but it is needed and should have been done earlier. Home schooling nearly finished me off last time but the schools do need to close to help reduce the cases. I think we are looking until after the half term break.

Itisasecret · 03/01/2021 23:26

The real shame with that is, any reduced mixing from the holidays will be wasted. Schools are back tomorrow, in time to spread the Christmas mixing infections.

He’s an idiot.

Panickingpavlova · 03/01/2021 23:26

I would love to know what constitutes a tuck shop crisis! 😂

It's pathetic isn't it.

Quote of the day Grin

But yes, please please...lockdown is needed now

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 03/01/2021 23:28

Back in my day it was running out of wham bars and pickled onion space raiders 🤷‍♀️😅

covetingthepreciousthings · 03/01/2021 23:28

The whole thing is a shambles.
It's to be hoped that he makes an announcement at 7am so that all the kids don't trot off to schools in the morning..

It'll probably be held off till later in the week.

Panickingpavlova · 03/01/2021 23:28

🏡 School was challenging for me too but still would be less challenging than trying to fight covid alone in hospital or dh or the dc unable to get an ambulance or older relatives dying before their time.

I could not agree more, but I fear that the 7am thing is, alas, unlikely!

Oh gosh, pickled onion space raiders!!

I know the whole situation is not funny but that made me laugh.
HollyGenneroMcClane · 03/01/2021 23:29

Im considering keeping my kids at home but until when?!

thecatfromjapan · 03/01/2021 23:29

What you said, itisasecret.

What an absolute mess.

Wtf is wrong with Johnson?

He was warned about this in November. SAGE had to go public with their advice because he refused to act. There's now a crisis in London hospitals, and he's still fucking about, testing the water with leaks to the fucking Daily Mail.

I'm sorry to be sweaty but ... seriously: wtf is wrong with him?

The man needs to lead.

What a useless fucker.

covetingthepreciousthings · 03/01/2021 23:31

Surely at times like this (presumably this counts as a national crisis)... they can (should) hold important meetings even through the night if that's what it takes to get things sorted and in place for an urgent announcement?!

thecatfromjapan · 03/01/2021 23:31

Actually, I really am sorry for being so sweary.

I have a relative whose treatment has been delayed - almost certainly because hospitals are stretched.

It's just stressful.

Noellodee · 03/01/2021 23:35

What a fucking moron. I absolutely WON'T (stomps feet) shut down on Monday,

I'll do it on Tuesday, because no-one tells ME what to do!

LoudTree · 03/01/2021 23:35

@mrsknottschicken

There are legitimate arguments about whether schools to be closed to reduce overall transmission and protect NHS capacity.

However, DC themselves are at extremely low risk from COVID. Indeed, they are at far more risk from schools being closed.

Parents and staff are also at very low risk unless clinically vulnerable.

The ‘risk’ to DC is a terrible argument for schools to close.

Blubellsarebells · 03/01/2021 23:36

"Im considering keeping my kids at home but until when?!"
I would bet money they will be closed by the end of the week.
Im keeping mine off.
Hes isolating.

I think your swearing is entirely warranted I will add to it by stating Johnson and his crew are an absolute fucking shower of shit

Sorry your relative has not had the treatment they needed.

Anyone seen a horse anywhere? Stable door was open.

SoscaredforJan · 03/01/2021 23:41

I honestly think he will go down as the worst prime minister in history. People say Thatcher caused a lot of deaths...he must have beat her by now Confused
