What do you think Boris is going to announce tomorrow? Is he going to announce a full lockdown the day before Christmas Eve?

@AlecTrevelyan006

2021 is cancelled
That means never escaping 2020 and Tiers...
Tangerines2021 · 22/12/2020 21:49

There seems to be uncertainty about whether it will be Tier 4 just for some places of nationally from Boxing Day... maybe they haven’t decided yet.

Tangerines2021 · 22/12/2020 21:49

OR nationally

SwankySharky · 22/12/2020 21:51

France? Can we not take the dingy to Iceland??

Rosebel · 22/12/2020 21:51

I had a bad feeling when my dh mentioned it. If they shut schools my youngest daughter will go back in to her depressive state. She's autistic and absolutely needs routine.
Technically if school is open to key worker children she could go in (we're both key workers) but if nursery shuts too not much point as I won't be able to go to work anyway.
I'm dreading it. My job is secure but unskilled so if I take too much time off they'll probably get rid of me. But what am I meant to do with my 6 months old?

Tier 4 for a few other places I bet. Won't be a national one.
Who knows though?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 22/12/2020 21:52

I'd imagine he's announcing flooding & power cuts on Christmas day.

The Tories don't want us plebs having it too good and becoming complacent.

SwankySharky · 22/12/2020 21:53

I really, really hope it's the vaccine - am I being naive?

I really really do not want everyone in T4 (it's rubbish here).

Yes.

Front pages start being published in the next 10 mins...

Dementedswan · 22/12/2020 21:54

When is this announcement?

Carol kirkward mentioned floods in the new year. No snow though yet, so that's good. We've had power cuts here too ( dont last long)
frustrationcentral · 22/12/2020 21:54

@Impatiens

If they're going to lockdown they should do it right now instead of waiting til half the country has got together for xmas day. I'm so SICK of this negligent government.
I doubt if they forced a lockdown now that people would still not have a Christmas with relatives. I feel They should never have offered the relaxation in the first place
covetingthepreciousthings · 22/12/2020 21:55

It's looking likely it's a lockdown announcement I think judging by the news outlets at the moment.

Do we have a time for the announcement yet?

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 22/12/2020 21:57

Second headline on ITV news
"more areas set for tougher lockdown"

Where have you seen this? I’ve mostly seen reports that a nationwide lockdown was considered, but they’re going for Tier 4 in selected places only.... but it seems a bit confused even in the articles Confused
Cheeseboardandmincepies · 22/12/2020 22:02

There’s no point speculating, who really knows with Boris and Matt Hancock they’ve done so many U turns, they don’t know their * from their elbow.
And yes you can join my dingy boat to freedom. 😉

twilightermummy · 22/12/2020 22:03

I wish that they'd make a decision and stick with it. All this uncertainty is causing more stress than whatever it is that we have to deal with. I know it's a fast-moving issue with many changes but nobody can plan like this.
I'd rather them shut us down completely until vaccines have been rolled out to the vulnerable, then we should have some normality for spring. I'm so fucking bored of it all.

ikswobel · 22/12/2020 22:04

Pms

ikswobel · 22/12/2020 22:04

Haha pmk

@randomer

re the hair,it is cruel to mock somebody's appearance but when you are a player on the world stage,you must maintain a professional appearance. Smart,well fitting clothes and good personal grooming say I care,this matters.
Like Corbyn 😂
emilybev1986 · 22/12/2020 22:06

@kittensarecute

You are far better than this charlatan.
However you feel you are worth far more to the world than
Alexander fucking Johnson.
Please please please reach out to someone.
Lots of MN comments that may help.

Dementedswan · 22/12/2020 22:06

So no announcement confirmed? Just newspaper speculation?

Beebityboo · 22/12/2020 22:08

So more areas could be stopped from any mixing on Christmas day?

For your older child's sake I would take up the key worker place if it comes to that.
