Does anyone think lockdown will carry on past 2nd December round?
CountessFrog · 02/11/2020 01:41
Yep
grassisjeweled · 02/11/2020 01:42
Yip indeedy
Beebityboo · 02/11/2020 01:46
Probably. But I'm praying for an ease of restrictions at Christmas so I can see my mum .
JamieLeeCurtains · 02/11/2020 01:47
Yup
Mintjulia · 02/11/2020 01:48
Yes. I think it'll be closer to Dec 20th.
I'm assuming we're going nowhere except food shopping, school run and out for a run/cycle from now until ds breaks up for Xmas.
I've written a reading list, chores list, Xmas present list. It's going to be a very long autumn.
IdblowJonSnow · 02/11/2020 01:53
Yep! I think into the new year, maybe even Feb. But maybe we'll have the vaccine by then... Fingers crossed. No one really knows, best not to think that far ahead.
notanoctopus · 02/11/2020 02:10
Yep
PhilCornwall1 · 02/11/2020 02:10
Don't know and pretty much don't care anymore to be honest.
Pixxie7 · 02/11/2020 02:11
Probably.
PopsicleHustler · 02/11/2020 02:12
Yes. But really hope everything will be better by January
Duckchick · 02/11/2020 02:23
Yep, I think with secondary schools and universities still open this lockdown will probably stop numbers growing but probably won't get them shrinking again (or at least not by much). Hospitals are also going to fill up over the next couple of weeks with people who've unfortunately already caught it, and I can't see the lockdown ending until hospital occupancy reduces again - which I doubt it will be doing meaningfully by the 2nd December.
Like a pp I think we might get time off for Christmas but then we'll be back into lockdown again 🙁
hetanom · 02/11/2020 02:45
Nope.
PurpleHoodie · 02/11/2020 02:51
Yes. Until March at least.
Newjez · 02/11/2020 03:31
It will carry on until mid December.
They will lift it for Xmas.
Then they will bring it back mid January.
Furrybutts · 02/11/2020 03:41
Yes, I think it will be February
BritWifeinUSA · 02/11/2020 03:48
Of course it will. I can’t believe people think the government is being truthful on this.
GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 02/11/2020 04:20
Yes, and I think schools will close in December.
PhilCornwall1 · 02/11/2020 04:23
Don't worry, there will be another U-Turn coming soon.
Crakeandoryx · 02/11/2020 04:31
Very possibly but each day as it comes etc.
Kinshipcarer · 02/11/2020 04:57
Almost definitely. This is an introduction to lockdown over Christmas IMO and Boris will simply extend it when the times comes.
WinnieTheW0rm · 02/11/2020 04:58
Lots of us do:

BawJaws · 02/11/2020 05:01
I think schools will close for the year on 1st December
Heartofstrings · 02/11/2020 05:06
@BawJaws same. I'm pretty sure this partial lockdown is so that they can delay until December to allow a safer Christmas
Susanwouldntlikeit · 02/11/2020 05:19
Have seen reported elsewhere that Boris locked firm now because they have in France and other European countries because if they are out of lockdown in December, he does not want to be going into it then and an outfit that ‘them forriners’ are getting Christmas and we’re not
scaevola · 02/11/2020 05:38
Yes - timelines of the disease mean that we'll only have the beginnings of evidence of which way it is going and how quickly within the 4 weeks.
So with a heavy heart Boris will ask us to do, a little more'. And will also put universities onto online only, tell students to stay within their term time accommodation for a fortnight and not return home even if their term finished during that period. Quarantine, before the end of term migration.
Then everyone can be relaxed down on about 16-18th Dec hurrah!
Because by then, for the next couple of weeks infections will keep falling, because they will reflect transmissions from 1-3 weeks earlier. It'll only start creeping up again from end first week in Jan (after students are back) and lockdown 3 will be indicated by the start of Feb
