Looking forward to my daughters' dance classes, back on Friday 😁

I see Basildon is now in the top 20 areas for infections per 100k in England. Let's hope we don't get moved to Tier 3! I don't live in that district but it appears that tiers are county level only 😑

MercyBooth · 01/12/2020 15:01

yes Im nowhere near it either. Braintree.

Spacemonkey2016 · 01/12/2020 15:19

Yes, I keep looking at Basildon and Brentwood and worrying. Everywhere else was looking quite favourable last time I looked.

ILookAtTheFloor · 01/12/2020 16:42

To be frank I don't look anymore as the 'worst' for me happened already--the lockdown.

I'll start looking and worrying again when lockdown 3.0 is on the cards!

IrkedEssex · 01/12/2020 17:40

@MercyBooth - all good here. Itching to get in the gym and go out to eat tomorrow.

Whiskyinajar · 01/12/2020 17:50

I'm in Basildon, both DS Andi have as COVID. DS picked it up in college, the whole area are seems to have high levels despite lockdown. However they seem to be school/college driven as lots of schools locally have had to close due to students testing positive.

My self isolation is over on Thursday and I can't wait.

OpheliasCrayon · 01/12/2020 22:32

I've heard rumour today we might go to tier 3.

OpheliasCrayon · 01/12/2020 22:34

I stress - a rumour. But has anyone else heard anything similar?

MercyBooth · 01/12/2020 22:39

I fucking hope not.

BunsyGirl · 02/12/2020 11:53

Only Basildon and Harlow have cases above 200 per 100,000 at the moment. Would seem really unfair to move the whole of Essex to tier 3 when many areas have much lower rates but I guess that’s what happened in Kent.

Whatever9999 · 02/12/2020 12:29

Ffs I will be far less impressed if North Essex is once more lumped in with South. We are a very different area, rural rather than urban and where I am the numbers are currently 55/100000 that is less than 1/3 national average.

ILookAtTheFloor · 02/12/2020 12:38

I've read that the mass (I should I say 'community') testing is due to be offered to schools in Basildon.

Any tier changes would be on 16th but I think there would be a lot of anger from many Essex MPs if the whole of Essex becomes tier 3.

I’ve volunteered to take a role in community testing as they need people to help. Doesn’t look like my job interview last week was successful so I’m still going to be out of work . I’’m really hoping there will be no more Tier changes, so unfair on areas where the cases are very low.
Karcheer · 02/12/2020 17:43

@Whatever9999 im in a similar situation. We are in Essex (just) and will be very annoyed. Our Rate per 100k is N/A because it's so low.
