I'm guess lots of people will just meet outside. It's just that they will just go inside these places and nobody will be able to police it! That's how I see it.

The80sweregreat · 15/10/2020 14:08

The ECC just want the money. They are not bothered about any of the practicalities of this or the exit plan.
They can't police it properly either.

Pertella · 15/10/2020 14:15

Most people that live in Thurrock go to Basildon hospital I believe?

Yes they do - the hospitals actual name is Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital

The80sweregreat · 15/10/2020 14:31

Basildon had it worse than Southend back in March yet Southend is still tier one!

williowrosenburg · 15/10/2020 18:18

So does this mean that anyone who wants to have lunch with a friend will just travel to southend? As surely that just put southend at greater risk?

HeIenaDove · 15/10/2020 18:34

Im in Braintree and im bloody confused. Can i still go visit my elderly parents in their home or not?

No, unless you are part of a support bubble.

You can still go to freeport or even lakeside though. Which just shows how ridiculous the rules are.

My brother in Southen can go to my mums and vice versa, but we can't visit either of them, even though where they live have a higher rate of infection.

Just ludicrous

Yep-I can imagine that’s exactly what will happen.

Groups of friends who live in eg Leigh, Rochford and Rayleigh, will just go out to dinner at a restaurant in Leigh and give the Leigh person’s details for track and trace!

HeIenaDove · 15/10/2020 18:41

Can someone remind me what a support bubble involves. Its the one to do with childcare right?

How are you confused the Tier 2 rules are pretty simple. No mixing indoors anywhere unless it’s your own household or support bubble. Support bubbles allowed if one of you is a single adult household. It applies to the person so you can’t travel to another area to meet indoors either.
Racoonworld · 15/10/2020 18:45

Support bubble can be formed if one of you is a single adult household. You can only have one support bubble. A childcare bubble is different, it can be formed for childcare but must always be the same two households.
BunsyGirl · 15/10/2020 18:45

@HelenaDove

A support bubble is a close support network between a household with only one adult in the home (known as a single-adult household) and one other household of any size.

A childcare bubble is something different.

HeIenaDove · 15/10/2020 18:51

@Racoonworld I was asking to make sure i know what im doing is what im supposed to be doing. I thought that was encouraged on this board. I WONT put up with being treated like ive done something wrong by simply fucking asking. See how ridiculous this has got. Government are doing a chop and change/lockdown hokey cokey strategy so sometimes its hard to keep up.

HeIenaDove · 15/10/2020 18:52

Yesterday afternoon someone told me their colleague or colleagues friend took a Covid test. (im trying not to out them so trying to be vague) She got the result as a false positive

She HADNT YET sent the test back. It was still to be posted.

ILookAtTheFloor · 15/10/2020 19:02

I reckon it'll be like the Hotel California--once you're in tier 2 you'll never leave.

That's what I find so galling. We could have had a few more weeks before the inevitable, if their projections are to be believed and respiratory virus spread the way they do in winter (and we're seeing this all over Europe)

Greysparkles · 15/10/2020 19:03

What's a childcare bubble? I use multiple different people to help facilitate me working and keeping a roof over my head.

onedayinthefuture · 15/10/2020 19:14

Seeing as the majority of Essex is very rural, this seems so unfair? I would say Hertfordshire is more built up.

The majority is not very rural

And the more built up areas like Southend and Thurrock aren’t included and are still tier 1

I wouldn’t say the majority of Essex was very rural.
onedayinthefuture · 15/10/2020 19:23

72% of Essex is indeed rural.

Pertella · 15/10/2020 19:47

I think its if you are a single adult living alone you can mix with 1 more contained family group. So if your parents lived together you could form a bubble with them.

But don't quote me on that

BunsyGirl · 15/10/2020 20:17

@Greysparkles A childcare bubble can only consist of two households. So, for example, two sets of grandparents can’t look after the same grandchildren. Nurseries, childminders etc are exempt. So, you could use a combination of nursery and a childcare bubble.
