Second wave coming

If the schools are staying open, they need to immediately remove the threat of fines and lost places for vulnerable families like mine. It is actual cruelty to force disabled people to choose between their lives or the education of their children.

@Ellsbells12

Why do people start threads like this when we can all see and read the news generally asking
Well that's a bit presumptuous of you. Not everyone has internet and access to online media you know. Oh. Grin

I had to leave a FB group because Chief Cunt was in the habit of re-iterating whatever shite the FM had just spouted - just for the benefit of those unable to access the news elsewhere.

EarthSight · 18/09/2020 19:14

I'm not surprised with the amount of people who either -

  • claim it's no big deal
  • think the whole thing is made up
  • claim that it only lives between 30C-35C (genius comment I saw on a Facebook ground the other day)
  • don't bother to any social distancing whatsoever. We go for a walk where if we see someone coming towards us, we go in single file. Almost no one repays us the favour. In fact, even though they have plenty of room on their other side, they will walk in the middle of the pathway in order to make some sort of arrogant, stupid point.
Pheobeasy · 18/09/2020 19:14

I'm sure someone has said it already, but just in case they havent- no shit Sherlock. This is why you were supposed to have used the past 9 months to sort testing capacity, provide the correct support and equipment to hospitals, care homes and schools, and plan for the epically shit winter we all have in store.

OverTheRainbow88 · 18/09/2020 19:14

@Teateaandmoretea

I don’t need the government to tell me, just an example of how I believe restaurants etc are contributing to our higher infection rates. And it’s my belief they should be closed again, mainly to give schools a greater chance to Stay open

Teateaandmoretea · 18/09/2020 19:14

If the schools are staying open

😳 Well I’ll take to rioting if they aren’t

Do you mean 'genuinely'?

I started it to start a conversation.

Why did you reply?

@OverTheRainbow88 but you are going to them 🤷🏻‍♀️

annabel85 · 18/09/2020 19:15

@InsaneInTheViralMembrane

Oh finally! We've been waiting ages for Season 2. People kept promising it'd be released after Bournemouth, BLM, Easter etc.
When is Season 3?
OverTheRainbow88 · 18/09/2020 19:16

@Teateaandmoretea

I chose an outdoor one, which a few friends have been to, and recommended. They took our temp on arrival, hand sanitised, tables spread apart and outside but unfortunately the waiter was all over the shop.

The chances of spreading Covid between people passing each other for a few seconds on a walk, is almost zero. Unless someone sneezed or coughed directly on you as they walked past I suppose.

Beebityboo · 18/09/2020 19:17

I am completely in agreement that everything should close before the schools do but it is not fair of the government to be putting families with vulnerable and disabled members in this completely impossible situation. We should be given the right to keep our children home through the Winter months without penalty. I wouldn't expect any teacher to set work, all I want is to be able to return them to their schools when it is safe to do so.

Ravenesque · 18/09/2020 19:18

@MarshaBradyo

Brace brace
This is the code words I use to my friend when we're out and I'm about to fart.
annabel85 · 18/09/2020 19:20

Seems mad now that people were acting like Covid was all over in August.

Just shows if you let your guard down it'll hit again. We can't make the same mistake again when the second wave passes.

CoronaIsWatching · 18/09/2020 19:21

Boris, Rishi, Matt, Chris Whitty etc.. have collective IQs lower than Forrest Gump

Get a fucking circus.

MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2020 19:22

Ravenesque ha you made me laugh

We use it a lot in relation to Covid times ;

notevenat20 · 18/09/2020 19:22

Please let them keep the schools open. Please.

If they are true to their word (hah) primaries should stay open but secondaries might move to two weeks on then two weeks off alternating.

This depends on the teachers playing ball of course. Fingers crossed.

🤷🏻‍♀️ So shut them all down? Sensible solution.

Oh man exam years, wish they’d go in ft
Dominicgoings · 18/09/2020 19:23

There were a surprising number of greedy twats who ate out to help out three nights a week for a month. I’m not sure that’s what the aim was when the scheme was dreamed up.
But given that the great British public were fighting each other over bog roll why on earth do the government still insist on placing responsibility for logical thinking and rational decision making at individual level? They really can’t win.

lughnasadh · 18/09/2020 19:24

It’s not like the U.K. is geographically mobile, is it? Grin

The second wave has never been as bad as the first in any country, has it?

I think they're just looking to cover up the law breaking Brexit fiasco.

Really, very few people are dying, yet they are talking about reopening Nightingale hospitals that weren't even needed first time round.

Ravenesque · 18/09/2020 19:24

The only thing that confuses me about the second wave is when did the first wave end?

I'm sure we'll all be fine once Dildo Hardon figures out which is her arse and which is her elbow.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 18/09/2020 19:24

Can our dear PM tell us exactly where all the supply teachers are going to come from once too many school staff have to self-isolate due to covid symptoms & they can't get a timely test so they can ensure they can be back at work as soon aspossible? That's already happening with school staff going off. They're having to wait longer for a slot than they were last week. The testing situation is a fucking disgrace, and is what will cause schools to have to close again.

Simply because of staff shortages, they will HAVE to close in some capacity. Maybe bring in half the school in for half the week, then the other half the next. You'll end up with non subject specialists covering classes.

It's a right balls up.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 18/09/2020 19:24

They might close pubs but I don’t think hair and beauty will be closed again, they are cleaner than most places and my hairdresser is only seeing a few people at a time with spacing and cleaning every 5 minutes. Not to mention the self employed payments were a shambles the last time, a lot of self employed hair dressers etc that just scraped by last time won’t survive another time
