*But it's sad that you're getting so cross with those who are preparing to work from home and hunker down for the winter. I am one of them, I haven't always been, and I'm very grateful that these days I'm in an industry where I can both work from home and also do a bit of home educating too because it's that flexible. Lots of colleagues and friends are also aware that we are priviliged.
But us not going around shops, going to the pub and travelling to work does mean that it keeps everything safer for those who have no choice. So rather than let an incompetent government encourage us to blame things on each other, let's keep the blame where it firmly belongs - on the people elected and paid to keep us all safe by implementing policies that do that.*
As I said to a pp. I'm not cross that people are wfh (where they have facility to do so) in fact it means theres less people on my trains to work(which is a win for everyone except the train company) However what is frustrating is when (some) people seem to assume everyone has an office based job (and sufficient space at home) that can simply be done remotely, or can afford not to work.
Lots of my more vocal friends on fb that had all the STAY AT HOME memes were the ones who were either SAHM or WFH anyway so had literally nothing to lose by staying at home.
A few days after lockdown there was a pic of a packed tube circulating. No SD and not many people wearing masks. Lots of people commenting at the "selfishness" of all these people.....as if they'd squeezed on to a rush hour train and risked their own health for fun!
