Personal wish list, not what’s best for the country nor what I think should actually be prioritised. Just my fingers crossed hopes:

Primary schools - at least part time
Playgrounds
Being able to sit on a bench/grass while exercising the kids, not having to keep moving at all times
Being able to drive further than a mile down the road without the police questioning you (yes this happened several times to people in my (pretty compliant) rural SE town.
Keeping support bubbles with single adult households

Also wouldn’t mind my UK holiday going ahead in 3 weeks time.

What do you think my chances are?

Secondary schools anything else I really don't care about. What I most miss is the theatre and that's not opening anytime soon

BikeRunSki · 02/08/2020 09:22

Primary and secondary schools! (Or first and middle schools in my area).

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/08/2020 09:23

School. I don't care if nothing else is open, I just want DS to be able to go to school.

Thriceisnice · 02/08/2020 09:23

Schools open fulltime

Yes, I agree with this.
ACautionaryTale · 02/08/2020 09:26

Hotels and restaurants - can live without pubs but I am missing mini breaks

Personally I have a toddler and I am due DC2 in november, so

Husbands being able to attend all of the birth.
Soft play (although I know this most likely wont happen)
Airports so my parents can meet their grandchild and I have someone to help when DH goes back to working 12 hour days.
Meeting people in a house, so I get some social interaction.

MayFayre · 02/08/2020 09:29

Schools more than anything

I hope, for the sake of my sanity, that we will continue to be allowed to meet up with people in gardens or outside public places.

Triangularbubble · 02/08/2020 09:29

Primary schools, playgrounds, non Covid healthcare, dentists and the current supermarket situation (no one way system or queuing outside).

I would also love indoor play and family swimming but I think it’s very unlikely and probably not wise.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 02/08/2020 09:34

Schools
Swimming Lessons

And my slightly selfish one... Scouts. At the moment we will be allowed small groups outside. That should be ok until half term... Then it gets tricky with the darker nights.

MrsCrosbyNRTB · 02/08/2020 09:35

Schools and devtists

LadyCatStark · 02/08/2020 09:35

I’ll sacrifice everything for children to be able to get back to school.

Deelish75 · 02/08/2020 09:47

All NHS services
Schools
Swimming pools and lessons
Parks and children’s playgrounds

vinoandbrie · 02/08/2020 09:49

Schools.
All NHS services.

That is all.

If I had one frivolous option, I’d say restaurants to be open.

BlameItOnTheBogey · 02/08/2020 09:50

Totally selfish but gyms. It's my only real outlet for stress. But I recognise they are probably also likely to be one of the first things to go.

Thinking less selfishly, schools and dentists.

doubleshotespresso · 02/08/2020 09:56

Reading a few articles on this subject earlier this morning.

To be honest I'm weary about school reopening I just don't see it's the responsible thing to do on present showings....

Not used playgrounds again yet so not too fussed

Pubs and restaurants couldn't be lower down my list

Shopping centres I've coped without happily

Green spaces outside have been vital for us so hope this continues

But real wish is as long as my parents are able to join us at home and on Christmas Day . That's all I'm desperate to keep going for now.

It's all very bleak but feel strongly this wealth over health mentality Boris has rushed into is not helping contain this virus and provided nothing but worry and concern for thousands

Dancingalong · 02/08/2020 09:59

Schools are top priority for me and on a selfish note I’d like to gyms to stay open.
Playgrounds would be great too.

Lemons1571 · 02/08/2020 10:00

Oh I forgot one! I would like ofqual to come up with something more sensible for next years GCSE’s. The recent consultation basically said “no changes at all (despite year 10 missing 14 weeks of teaching SO FAR), oh apart from removing a few practicals and using YouTube demonstrations instead”.

The infection rate is rising again. They need to rethink. Otherwise it’ll be last minute panic teacher assessment again. Let’s face it, they have no idea if they’ll even be allowed to cram 240 kids into one exam hall next May.

I'm hoping I will be able to hold my first grandchild, who was born just before lockdown.

Qasd · 02/08/2020 10:01

Schools
Meeting up with other people in person even if outside.

Basically things that allow us to socialise so the exact things likely to be stopped😂!

GalesThisMorning · 02/08/2020 10:04
  1. Schools and healthcare services - need to have
  2. Being able to drive for exercise - nice to have

I dont care at all about shopping, eating out, hairdressers etc. Really hoping for schools and doctors though

lljkk · 02/08/2020 10:20

Schools as first priority.
2nd I want to keep freedom to go out for exercise multiple times/day without a face cover required during exercise including active travel .
3rd personally I'd like swimming pools to be open too.

I actually need a filling replaced but I have quietly accepted I may lose the tooth instead. And a million other freedoms would be nice, like universities and playgrounds open too and a million types of employers.

Delatron · 02/08/2020 10:20

Schools more than anything else.

I’d happily not see anyone for months, no pubs, restaurants or gyms just so the kids can stay at school.

usernotfound0000 · 02/08/2020 10:21

Schools. I'll happily give up everything else if my kids can continue with school/nursery.
