Personal wish list, not what’s best for the country nor what I think should actually be prioritised. Just my fingers crossed hopes:

Primary schools - at least part time
Playgrounds
Being able to sit on a bench/grass while exercising the kids, not having to keep moving at all times
Being able to drive further than a mile down the road without the police questioning you (yes this happened several times to people in my (pretty compliant) rural SE town.
Keeping support bubbles with single adult households

Also wouldn’t mind my UK holiday going ahead in 3 weeks time.

What do you think my chances are?

Schools - and I don't even have children. The impacts on society are otherwise so horrible.

Selfishly, as a bare minimum, I'd appreciate household bubbles continuing - I live by myself and work from home, and the thought of a winter where I'm alone for months is really depressing - if I could at least escape to another house occasionally it would be a lifesaver.

sunseekin · 02/08/2020 11:40

Bubbles and day trips to outdoor places.

sunseekin · 02/08/2020 11:40

And schools for those that need and want to attend.

Toomanyapplesinthefruitbowl · 02/08/2020 11:40

Schools and elective surgery.

I need surgery and can’t even be put on the waiting list for it until the Covid policy changes at my trust.

GhostTypeEevee · 02/08/2020 11:47

Schools. My son is going into year 10 and the thought of him missing more education is really worrying. Even if it's part time or something like that

PopsicleHustler · 02/08/2020 11:50

My dream come true is everything is open and everything is back to normal. Covid19 is over and everyone happy

But, schools and also for my lovely hubby to attend the birth and able to bring our kids as well to see me after we have had the new baby. Due dc5 in January god willing. So far, the rules are he has to drop me off outside the labour ward and then I will be examined and then he can come in after I have been taken to a room. But he cant come to the post natal ward sadly.

Newgirls · 02/08/2020 11:53

Schools. The impact on my 14 year old’s mental health has been huge.

Universities opening. Else many will suffer financially and 18/19s will miss out.

Live music even if outdoors and socially distant. Should be possible with some creativity like outdoor cinemas.

tessiegirl · 02/08/2020 11:54

Schools
Hairdressers
Beauty salons
Dentists
Parks
Garden centres

MySaladDays75 · 02/08/2020 11:58

Schools. Don't care about anything else as long as the DCs are getting educated and socialising for their mental health.

Twinkletwinklechocbar · 02/08/2020 11:59

Schools, schools and schools. Couldn't really give much of a shit about anything else.

Second to that if at all possible would be any of my dcs hobbies being able to go ahead in some form.

After that would be playgrounds staying open, then the possibility of being able to have an Autumn night away in our caravan but that's lower on the list.

I'd give up anything for my dc to have their full life back.

Elliebobtail · 02/08/2020 12:01

Schools for sure.
After that I’d like the nhs to be functioning as much as possible.

Angel2702 · 02/08/2020 12:02

Schools
Being able to visit family for Christmas even if it is still only two households allowed to meet.
Shops to get Christmas shopping

Jaxhog · 02/08/2020 12:09

Schools
and Parks

And I hope anyone who can conceivably work from home is allowed to do so.

Gremlinpoop · 02/08/2020 12:11

Schools and children's activities. Everything else I can cope without I will even give up my very long awaited hairdressers appointment in 2 weeks time if it meant my children could have a normal life again.
I am actually very angry about how children have been treated through this.

glitterfarts · 02/08/2020 12:27

schools
pools
all childcare and wrap around care

full NHS incl dentistry

everything else can close bar essential services.

Children should be back to school, wrap around care, activities etc as normal. Essential shops only, everything else locked down for winter until Easter, opening 1 industry at a time over Spring.

Masks compulsory outside the home, anywhere in public. Anyone exempt to have a badge or lanyard to wear.

Borders closed to tourism. Compulsory quarantine to all arrivals for 2 weeks, in a hotel, similar to NZ, with guards, and checks and fines, and paid for by quarantinees. Not travel all over the country to quarantine at home with no checks and no followup.

Mass testing of population for current and past infection. Not only symptomatic people. ALL people.

Mass vaccination programme once available, with over 60's, all eligible for a flu vaccine and school children first. No vaccine, no school unless allergic to ingredients.

girlicorne · 02/08/2020 14:30

Like so many others, schools. I don’t mind everything else closing but my children need to be back in school. I WFH and am self employed so I can support homeschool and have loved this time with them but they need to be in proper education with their peers.

BigChocFrenzy · 02/08/2020 14:46
  1. Schools - kids need their education; parents need to work, also to retain sanity

  2. Gyms - personal wish, because I'm a gym rat !
However, I find it much easier to stay at peak fitness with trainers & classes instead of at home

I'm in Germany and gyms here have been open since 16 May, without causing any outbreaks
Gyms have made strict SD rules ans members have obeyed - it helps that we're not sozzled or even merry

RunningNinja79 · 02/08/2020 14:50

Schools (again, but as a parenting forum the previous answers really don't surprise me)

WFH (I really hope I can continue to do it part time like I am now for many more months)

Selfishly for me. Butlins. We were supposed to go in June which was obviously cancelled so have re-booked for new year. So excited to actually do something different this year and its not something we could usually affort.

I'd also like parkrun to come back.

Pubs/shops/cinemas etc can all close again as far as I care (though wouldn't want people to lose jobs etc so would need more provision for that)

jarviscockatiel · 02/08/2020 15:08

As a teacher I'm looking forward to seeing my class again. From a selfish point of view I'd love to be able to go back to my dance classes again but know that'll be a very long time away.

megletthesecond · 02/08/2020 15:12

Schools, dentists, playground and outdoor group / personal training.

AHF1975 · 02/08/2020 15:12

Schools!

WalesAppearsToBeSlightlySaner · 02/08/2020 15:26

Full health care including dentists
Schools open as usual
Children able to play
Food shops
Exercise outdoors as a minimum
I’d like to be able to mix in small groups indoors
Selfishly restaurants but accept that may be impossible

WalesAppearsToBeSlightlySaner · 02/08/2020 15:26

Sorry also emergency vets need to be open!

monkeytennis97 · 02/08/2020 15:29

All NHS services
Dentists
Primary Schools
Secondary schools with more mitigation measures (smaller classes, blended learning).
Children's residential care homes (niche I know and selfish as don't want to be away from my DS for months again).

headshoulderskneestoes · 02/08/2020 15:34

Schools is the only thing that should be prioritised, children have been at the bottle of the pile throughout and it's time they were prioritised. Today's children are the future of the workforce and society, what is it saying to them that their education isn't important.

Selfishly, my ASD son has nothing outside of his Sen school. No siblings, cousins, friends, no accessible activities and won't work at home and the only contact he has is with us when he's not at school. He's become positively agoraphobic and tearful about everything. Very sad.
