Thread number who knows , because I've lost count. We're adapting to normal 1.0 and lost our status as murderers. The grass is not off limits anymore and we can eat a bag of crisps outside with being accused of "premeditated picnics". Not a pan or pot in sight.

The app has been acting funny lately, especially saying something didn't post ,then double posting.

We have nearly all year groups in(15 children bubbles, most are less) and everything worked amazingly well. Lots of changes,adjustments and mucking in but it's going well, the children are happy, I'd say most of the staff is as well and it still feels rather safe and under control. The chaos is part and parcel of working in a school really.No idea what September will bring,but I'm fairly optimistic.

It sounds like most are just glad to be able to have some kind of normalcy. I know some who are still loving lockdown and would like to keep us this way forever, but I'm not one of them!!

Fell out with a friend because I wasn't interested or impressed with the stats and numbers she keeps throwing at me, including for my area.

Apparently I'm a dick because even if I don't go out or break the rules,others do.

How does that help me? I still need to work,DD still needs to go to school etc.

Looking at numbers and being unable to do anything about it doesn't help in any way,shape or form.

So I'm in my dickish ,blissfully ignorant state and just getting on with things.

Fell out with my brother for the exact same reason. I clearly don't care about my DM or anyone else but myself and my DC!! Awful human being that I am. Hm. Well obviously my DC come first but I certainly care about my DM, too! I honestly can't cover the arses of the entire country though. It's not feasible. I work from home anyway, but my DD1 and DS and their partners need to work, DD2 needs to be fed and clothed so I need to go shopping for all manner of things when required. My DB just cannot see that, but then he has no kids.

For those who have everyone under the same roof and can work from home for all eternity with a huge garden and food deliveries then great, you do you. The rest of us have to get on with it. It's fine if people are able to do that, I thoroughly support it, but it might be nice if they could understand those of us who can't!!

@DarkHelmet I wanted to apologise, I realised my post last night was quite abrupt and possibly sounded dismissive.

What I was trying to say is that this is not on you, or a reflection of your character/actions. He has his narrative and will say anything to make it fit, no matter what you say or do. You can't change that, so as upsetting and hurtful as it might be , you just need to roll with it and hang in there.

ComeOn ah I appreciate that, but honestly no need to apologise, you're absolutely right. I'm sure at some point he'll emerge from his Covid induced rabidity but I certainly won't be holding my breath. I've defended myself a couple of times before realising actually, I'm not doing anything wrong! It's very clear he has an agenda but I know any concerns of mine would be lost on my DM, so I'll leave it and see how it plays out.

Does anyone know of someone in real life who actually bleached their food delivery? DD1s neighbour told her they quarantined theirs in the vestibule for 72 hours but we couldn't decide if they were being serious 😂

I have a friend who did quarantine their shopping. But he's shielding, so as far as I'm concerned, he gets a free pass on that. Don't think I know anytime who bleached it.

I know some friends that quarantined packages and stuff but never really got into details.

My Mum was wiping down shopping whether it was done in person or a delivery! Don't know if she still is as I had to decide to let that go in the interest of family harmony (along with many other things)... I figured if it makes her feel safe, at lest it's not bothering anybody else as she's not insisting everybody does it...

I think what's irked me is how rabid my DB has been about not letting me of my DC anywhere near my DM, but he brings shopping home from numerous shops then leaves her to handle and unpack it!! Now to me that's perfectly fine, but surely if he's that anal about 'the rules' and that worried about her contracting Covid, he'd either quarantine it or insist on putting it away himself rather than my DM??

I turned out to be allergic to the antibacterial wipes used at work and go to some pains to avoid benzalkonium chloride, the active ingredient.

Turns out, there are some masks with an antibacterial coating.

FML.

Cheeks and nose are covered in a red rash....

BAK has no antiviral properties, so don't rely on the wipes.

Haha oh willow I haven't heard that one! I did overhear someone saying the clouds are fake and the virus lands on us from purposeful chem trails and when they offer a vaccine it'll kill you. That was interesting!

It's like there are people who want to believe that all this is controlled, that horrific animal cruelty can't be the only reasons this has happened.

I've even seen my colleagues fall doen some random, Youtube conspiracy rabbit holes. It's depressing.
