Thread number who knows , because I've lost count. We're adapting to normal 1.0 and lost our status as murderers. The grass is not off limits anymore and we can eat a bag of crisps outside with being accused of "premeditated picnics". Not a pan or pot in sight.

Oh well, there's still the second wave.Grin

I will probably survive the pandemic but get killed off by splinters in the bum caused by fence sitting.

Keeping a bit of distance is sensible, wearing a mask is considerate. Neither of these things does a hero make.

Shouting at people for not doing these things is not heroic.

I feel the same way so we can have splintery butts together.

Tbh it 's more of a reasonable position, rather that on the fence. We can see and agree that x,y,z is sensible or a good idea, without burning down at the sake someone that can't or won't do it.

I don't like the masks so I just haven't been anywhere where they might be required.

110APiccadilly · 05/07/2020 16:15

I don't like the masks but I wear one without a fuss if required (e.g. for scans in hospital). I'm uncomfortable with the government forcing people to wear something that covers the face but I'm not sure I can articulate why!

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 05/07/2020 16:22

I've ordered some as I'll need to see the GP about something at some point, using lockdown as an excuse not to go.Grin

And because I hope I'll actually be able to go and visit my best friend in the summer holidays.

I hate them though. I struggle to breathe and they feel so claustrophobic too. But needs must.

DarkHelmet · 05/07/2020 16:22

We walk everywhere with being so close to the city centre, so no need to wear a mask on public transport. We occasionally grab a taxi if the weather is foul, and haven't been asked to wear a mask. I do have a mask each for me and DD2 and keep them in by bag, just in case. They look like a smiling skeleton jaw! Pretty creepy but I haven't been able to find a plague doctor one I like yet.

We wore them in Lidl today ONLY because everywhere we turned there was someone coughing up a lung, and DD felt anxious. So by that token, I wore them for us, no one else. I'm no hero.

Willow2017 · 05/07/2020 16:55

I am off to the garage for baccy soon so will have to wear one.

I missed the 'Pathetic 4 and a dog' rebels at the border the other day. So sure of themselves that they were doing right that they were covered from head to toe so nobody could recognise them...except anyone who knew the huge dog,🤣🤣🤣
Give me strength!

GnomeDePlume · 05/07/2020 18:27

Being reasonable seems not to be an acceptable point of view at the moment. Either we are supposed to keep ourselves locked up forever or we are supposed to bounce about licking each other.

We have masks (DD made us a load) so I can wear one for blood tests. Getting my eyes tested on Friday so I expect to need one then.

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 05/07/2020 18:47

Sorry I draw the line at licking.Grin

BBCONEANDTWO · 05/07/2020 18:58

Hello everyone. This is the first time I've looked at this thread - I love it!

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 05/07/2020 21:26

@BBCONEANDTWO you should've seen the first threads! Killing, sexy soldiers, STD's and arts and crafts.Grin

Willow2017 · 05/07/2020 23:19

Oooh whatever happened to the soldiers? Oops did we forget to feed them?....er...😶

GnomeDePlume · 06/07/2020 06:40

Nope, ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble, them's your choices. Clingfilming yourself and locking yourself in the the understairs cupboard (even if you dont have one) or licking people.

There is no room for people who want to be sensible.

All the people who thought that lockdown might last a lot longer than it has are supposed to apologise to the whole of MN for spoiling it for everyone else. Apparently they/we/I/you (take your pick) spoiled it for everyone else.

There, you have been told, now get back to clingfilming or licking. Stop this ridiculous reasonable nonsense.

110APiccadilly · 06/07/2020 06:47

I'll lick people if it gets my gym open again! Can't believe that they've opened pubs (to be fair, they haven't where I live) but gyms and swimming pools still don't know when they'll open. I thought Johnson wanted to wage war on obesity.

I'm happy today though as our 5 mile/stay local rule lifts and I can go and see my parents.

GnomeDePlume · 06/07/2020 07:08

I couldnt see the logic for opening pubs except that all politicians do like to be photographed having a pint. It seems to be the modern equivalent of kissing babies.

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 06/07/2020 08:19

Picadilly hope you get to see them soon. I know how much you've wanted to.

Mmm the clingfilm might help with losing weight? And is cheap ... maybe that's the way to go.Grin

willow the soldiers have ermm.. been terminated. The STD's rusted their "weapons" so they were no good to the realm. Just a waste of toilet paper keeping them all.

DarkHelmet · 06/07/2020 12:03

Wait.. don't we have a garage full of hot menz going to waste somewhere too? Oops 😅

Opening pubs before swimming pools and gyms seems bonkers to me. My DS still has no idea when his niche outlet will be able to open, and it's a far easier to put up safety precautions than a pub!!

Willow2017 · 06/07/2020 12:12

DarkHelmet · 06/07/2020 13:47

Willow I'm pretty certain Zac Efron should be round at mine now making me coffees abc generally seeing to my needs 😅

I suppose being in the middle of a global pandemic has messed up international deliveries.. 😭

Hmm I'd get on to customs maybe someone kept him? And what's the excuse for Tony? He lives near Bath!!!! That was the only thing keeping me gking through this..😄😄
DarkHelmet · 06/07/2020 14:35

Willow that's a good point, I bet customs keep finding reasons to delay him just so they can continue to gaze upon his loveliness, and he's been stuck there for weeks. Poor bloke. Feel a bit bad for requesting him now! Tony has no excuse excuse though if he's only in Bath!!

I'm about to brave the queue for Primark. It's been ridiculously long since it reopened and I've walked past it each time. I can't put it off any longer though, I need cheap stuff for DD2 who seems to have grown a foot during lockdown 😂

Willow2017 · 06/07/2020 15:22

Our nearest primark is an hour away and I don't need anything that badly seeing as we won't be going anywhere this year to justify a 2hr trip just for clothes (and wear masks and be put through the faff of social distancing measures if Pizza Hut is open to bribe kids with!)

Tony has no excuse excuse though if he's only in Bath!! exactly. Only Bath he should be near just now is mine!😙

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 06/07/2020 15:35

I wasn't in charge of the hotties so you can't blame that one on me.

However if there are any leftovers please send them my way.Grin

DD's school have sent an email that teachers are writing the reports this week and we should receive them at some point next week. What have they been doing up to now ,especially since the school was shut shut(not even keyworkers) for a whole month? They'll be a bit pointless really anyways as the teacher didn't even have a full 6 months with them, but I'm feeling whingy.Grin

Work is manic and emotional. All the training that was cancelled is getting crammed in plus loads of other bits. The y6s go from hating us to crying because they never want to leave.Grin

DarkHelmet · 06/07/2020 18:09

ComeOn it sounds really chaotic!! I don't envy anyone in the teaching profession, it must be a minefield right now. I have a friend who's a dinner lady and she says the kids are doing pretty well with distancing etc but then there's only about 30 kids in the entire primary right now. She's told me stew dreading September.

Well the queue into primark was non existent yay!! The queue to the checkouts was like a big annoyed snake of Covid doom. But DD2 has a basket full of new clothes so we did the queuing and rewarded ourselves with Starbucks. I also rewarded myself with some new makeup 😁😁😁

Just in case Zac turns up 😏😏😏
