Hi all

@Annie20061 @RickyBooth How has the first week back been? I hope you are both still relatively well. Been thinking of you both.

@Pinklynx @Solomi @JustMeG @Porcupineinwaiting @MrsBennetsnerves @Charlieandthechocolatecake How have you all been this week? Any test results back?

I did try to ring the GP this week, but the only time I could do it, I was just in a queue for such a long time that I had to hang up and go back to my work. That said, I have been feeling a bit better the last few days. The burning chest and throat have been calmer BUT I have been here before, so just hope its just in the right direction.

Hoping everyone is OK.

Solomi · 04/07/2020 14:20

Hi @theforest
I am booked in for a clotting screen on monday so I will be sure to update once I've got the results so that it may be of use to anyone else with the same worries.
Apart from ongoing fatigue , I've not had any other symptoms thank goodness.
I hope everyone else is feeling better..if not hang in there, I had days during my illness where I felt perfect and then the next day it would hit me again and feel like i was never going to get better, but 3 months on I'm mostly back to normal.

RickyBooth · 04/07/2020 17:03

Hi @Theforest Yep its been a long week very hard indeed but iv gotten trough it had some chest issues on thursday but i pushed myself hard on wed evening tried to do some offloading a big mistake lol apart from lack of energy now and the odd niggle im getting there. Great to hear you have had a half way good week fingers crossed you getting over it also.

@Solomi Please let us know how the screening goes and again yep its been a long old battle this bloody virus has been but glad you seem to be recovering also.

@Annie20061 Hows your week been??

Annie20061 · 04/07/2020 18:19

@RickyBooth @Theforest i have found it difficult. I have to talk alot on the phone and drive to viewings. The driving has been ok. Its the talking giving me a sore throat, hoarse voice & by the end of the day I’m slightly breathless & the heartburn is back. Absolutely knackered worked 4 days and tomorrow i am going to be having a huge lay in & pottering around the house only. I’m not as bad as i thought i would be... I’m going to see how i get on no major relapses yet. I know how you feel Rickybooth hard week! Gin wish i could have a drink, but even that’s off limits!

@Solomi @Theforest sounds like you are both on the recovery path, this virus is the most awful illness i have ever had. I am almost can’t wait to feel like me again & be able to go out on my cycle.

@theforest not feeling too good today. Throat still feels restricted and got an awful burning sensation in chest and around ribs, feels like it's on fire. Thank you for asking, I hope you are well.

pinkoneblueone · 05/07/2020 00:15

Still here not 100% have been back to work for the last couple of weeks and am making sure I rest a lot as I am still so very tired

TravelToFranceOrNot · 05/07/2020 01:49

Hi, I tested positive today at 10pm after posting off a test yesterday. I had no classic symptoms - no temperature, cough or loss of taste/smell, so unfortunately I had to fib to get a test but I am very glad I did as I'm positive. Shock

My symptoms were very bad ear pain, ringing in my ears on and off with some mild intermittent hearing loss, terrible sinus pain. And then I've had a weird sensation which starts from the top of my throat all the way down to my chest, but divided onto one side, the entire left side, like it's split vertically. Feels like tendrils in my throat and like I've been for a run and breathing hard with the "cool" hurting breath, if that makes sense at all. I'm in shock - I really thought it would come back negative and I was being silly but here I am.

Not really sure what to do next - have ordered tests for DH and DS and dropped an email to the school as DS who's 5 has been attending since they opened back up for reception. Feeling guilty about the school, like I've spoiled it for everyone. Stupid I know. Worried for my 5 yo DS and not sure what to tell him in the morning as he's been quite worried about "the virus" and now he and DH will need a test too. Sad

Theforest · 05/07/2020 16:48

@Solomi Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.

@RickyBooth Sounds like a tough week. How have you been over the weekend?

@Annie20061 Again sounds tough being back. I get the sore throat with too much talking too. Its so weird. Why are you not able to have a drink? I have managed a couple glasses of wine, but dont always feel like it.

@pinkoneblueone Is it just fatigue now, or do you still have other symptoms too?

@TravelToFranceOrNot yes I think the main symptoms is a little misleading and has caused confusion. I didnt have any of those either. But most people on here havent had a positive test as we had symptoms before tests were available to the public. Dont feel guilty though - its good that you got a test. Hopefully your DH and DS will be OK. If you dont have cough etc, I think its harder to spread. I dont think my DH and DC got it. The cool hurting chest is what most of us seem to have as a lingering issue, so hopefully yours clears up quickly. Mine is on the right side.

I dont feel too bad today. Not normal ofc, but as we often say, seems like getting there, but don't want to speak too soon..... Hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday

pinkoneblueone · 05/07/2020 18:39

@TravelToFranceOrNot I had the most bizarre fuzzy sore throat as well as fatigue and loss of smell as my first symptoms. I am glad you managed to get a test as they weren't available when I got sick.

pinkoneblueone · 05/07/2020 19:03

@Theforest I have sore spots still appearing on my head and hay fever, threatening sore chest and ribs today but fatigue was a big issue last week.

Annie20061 · 06/07/2020 07:34

@pinkoneblueone i know the going back to work drains you. I rested all yesterday - feeling much better today. Still have my sore ribs but this morning nothing else.... hope it stays this way Smile hope you are 100% soon

@TravelToFranceOrNot i has the chest symptoms you describe feels like your breathing in menthol - weird sensation, sore throat etc. I’m glad you managed to get a test - I couldn’t get one when i became ill they weren’t offered out. I hope your family do not get it and i hope you recover quickly from it. I would recommend no alcohol or coffee.

OP posts:
Annie20061 · 06/07/2020 07:43

@Theforest i have found alcohol makes me feel just awful. I had a full day of rest yesterday so feel much better today - last week was hard going. Maybe i will try half a glass of wine at the wkend i have missed having a glass to relax at the wkend. Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better this wkend... i hope it continues

@JustMeG hope you are feeling better soon Flowers. The throat feeling is awful - mine still comes and goes sometimes. When i had burning chest etc i literally just read a book or watched tv - trued to rest as much as you can.

OP posts:
JustMeG · 06/07/2020 08:44

@Annie20061 thank you. I have been resting as much as possible but with DCs here it hasn't been much. Yes the feeling in throat is terrible.
I hope that you are well.

Annie20061 · 07/07/2020 08:24

@JustMeG my children are all grown up so i have been able to rest more. It must be really hard to rest. lemon & ginger tea with added honey seems to help a little bit.

After a full day at work yesterday i just feel knackered today & sore throat & ribs. Apart from that I actually feel more like me than i have done before. I hope it’s finally going..... 13 weeks later

OP posts:
JustMeG · 07/07/2020 10:57

@Annie20061
That's good news. Let's hope it is finally going for you.
Thanks for the advice I will try that.

I spoke to my GP yesterday I've got an horrible burning feeling around my left breast. He said it's more than likely to do with an inflamed lung. I'm to monitor it if it gets worse or a rash appears I'm to phone him back.

Jebel · 07/07/2020 11:30

Hi everyone, interesting reading this. I probably had CV end of March (loss of taste, mild fever, exhaustion, chest soreness etc) and lodger got it after me. Husband had a cough, kids had fever for one night. Lodger and I since recovering have had recurring cold-like symptoms. Every few days we get what feels like the beginning of a cold (sneezing, start of a sore throat, swollen glands (me), tight upper chest), the next day it goes. The rest of the time she feels 100% and I feel 90% fine. Neither of us feels unwell enough to need to rest or see a doctor although I've been a lot more tired.
It could be unrelated but neither of us have allergies and we've not had any contact with other people during this time. I generally pick up bugs but in 6 years I've only known her to get sick twice!
Has anyone experienced this ie repeated episodes of feeling a bit rotten rather than continuous symptoms?

Theforest · 08/07/2020 18:40

Hi guys, just checking in. Chest isnt so bad right now, just the odd twitching I have to contend with! I really must ring GP but keep putting it off...!

How is the return to work?

@jebel there are definitely spells of feeling much better and then it coming back again for most of us, yes. All very odd.

Charlieandthechocolatecake · 08/07/2020 23:48

I tested negative yesterday after doing a home test. I spoke to GP who after listening to me about my symptoms and hearing my breathing in between, reckons it was either a false negative or I've got mild post viral complications. She's booked me in for a video call in the morning.

@Charlieandthechocolatecake How did you get on with the video call?

Solomi · 10/07/2020 22:42

Juat checking in to let you know that my clotting screen came back fine.
All I had was an email from the dr saying a fine Hmm, I will ring on Monday to see if I can get more info to see how I compare to past blood tests, but I think this means that I was worrying over nothing and I suppose the stickiness in my blood is normal?
I will update if I get more information.
This damn virus has me paranoid about everything Sad

Theforest · 11/07/2020 14:08

@Solomi Well that is good news. Frustrating GP hasnt really said anything else. It does make you worry about everything as it seems to have so many possible knock on effects.

nicky2512 · 11/07/2020 17:49

Hi. This will maybe sound silly but here goes. I will say first that I have never had any typical Covid symptoms but I had a chest infection late March which was very hard to shift (never had chest trouble before). Did not see Doc. Was diagnosed over phone.

Even after two antibiotics I had a strange breathlessness etc and in June was given more antibiotics though I told doc it did not feel like chest infection.
I still have: burning sensation in chest and back (not all the time), weird pressure sensation on chest (much worse when I lie down), bad breathlessness when I do anything, even talk too much!
I had a chest x Ray which was fine.

Nothing is helping and I’m starting to wonder.
Don’t see how I could have had it and not known or shared to rest of house (though DD was treated for chest infection in Feb/March).

Sorry for rambling but just wondered if anyone had any ideas.

Theforest · 11/07/2020 19:34

@nicky2512 Sounds similar to many of us here to be honest. Most of us had it March/April so no official test and too late for one now.

I had anti-biotics in case it was bacterial pneumonia but it made no difference. Doctors in general seem to think its inflammation I think and it will pass in time, but I dont think they know really.

Sorry you have to deal with this too.
