@Pinklynx I thought i had responded to you earlier, i must have forgot to press post! I think i am actually going mad! What a difference a day makes, still a bit short of breath but feeling so much better today. The heart racing scared me i hope it doesn’t come back. If it comes back i will try the breathing exercises. Thanks for that Smile

Have you had a chest xray yet? That maybe able to tell you if there is a problem or if it is just inflammation like they have said mine is. Ok did you get an antibody test online? I will do one when i can buy one online, it would be good just to know that is what i have had or not. I have had Covid symptoms for 10 weeks tomorrow. Still having rib pains. Can’t wait to feel normal again

Don't worry Annie20061 the whole illness knocks it out of you and it affects concentration and all sorts. I'm so pleased you're feeling a bit better today.

I haven't had an X-ray yet but I think I should contact my GP about it soon. I ordered the test online. You then just send off a blood sample and you get the results within a few days. It was actually a relief to hear I was positive. Partly because it made sense of all the symptoms and partly because I'm clinging to the hope that I will have some slight immunity at least going forward.

What exactly does the rib pain feel like? I feel a bit like I have a stitch but in my rib cage rather than my side when I try and take a full breath.

I hope you feel even better tomorrow! I realise I must be improving as I can do more exercise now, like going for walks etc and a ten minute gentle online class, which I would have dreamt of doing four weeks ago.

We'll get there but we still need to look after ourselves and get plenty of rest 💕

Pinklynx · 15/06/2020 07:58

Theforest thanks. I just read your previous post about being concerned about overdoing it. I completely get that. I've found that I can build up exercise gradually as long as I get plenty of rest in between. I've just been walking and spending time on benches when I need a break.

I've read on another thread that they just put you on anxiety meds if you go to the doctors about ongoing symptoms. That puts me off going to the doctors tbh. It's a shame your DH is not been sympathetic. There's too many of us with identical symptoms for it not to be a thing.

Theforest · 15/06/2020 18:31

@Annie20061 Great that you had a better day. This is so up and down

@Pinklynx Yes, I need to start getting out more for walks really. I just wish we knew for sure that the antibody test was 100%. I am reluctant to go to GP as it does seem mild compared to others - and dont want it to get classed as anxiety as in all honestly I dont feel that way at all. I guess I will at some point if doesnt improve...

RickyBooth · 15/06/2020 19:21

Hey all Just an update iv still got persistent Lump in throat and slight burn chest pain but nothing like before still not 100% back to full strength @Annie20061 great to hear long may it continue the road to recovery @Theforest my GP has been fantastic I would not worry about contacting them even if it just eases your mind a little @Pinklynx Also fantastic to here that you seem to be on the road to recovery also.

RickyBooth · 15/06/2020 20:16

Seems a lot of antibody tests are also ineffective showing no antibody even when confirmed to have the virus.

News snippet.

Between 2 and 8.5 per cent of the 177 patients in the study – all of whom had tested positive for the infection – did not in turn test positive for Covid-19 antibodies.

Annie20061 · 16/06/2020 09:02

@Pinklynx the rib pain i get sometimes is like a stitch that you describe, the ribs feel bruised & hurt if you touch them. They also ache at the front and going through into your back - although the aching seems to have gone the last couple of days which is good.

I feel good this morning, minor rib pain. I went for a little slow walk yesterday, if i go too fast it send my heart rate up to 140-170 so i take it steady and sit down if needed. Apart from feeling tired & the lump in my throat.... i think i am nearly better! Smile

Just to let you & @Theforest know My GP has been amazing and has not suggested anxiety, she has listened and been very helpful. I am sure without her help & couple of prescriptions I wouldn’t be feeling as well now.

I hope you are both feeling good today

@RickyBooth thanks for sharing the article, so if its comes back negative it doesn’t mean you haven’t had it just that you didn’t produce antibodies. Well thats a bit pants i was hoping when we manage to get a test that i would find out if this was covid or not Sad

Hope you get rid of the last couple if symptoms soon and feel 100% soon. I can’t wait to go on my bike again or a long walk without feeling ill or having to rest.

Has anybody noticed loss of hair? When i wash my hair loads seems to come out.... luckily i have lots of fine long hair so its not noticeable. Just wondered if anybody else was experiencing this? Weird Confused

I hope everybody is ok and recovering. I’m ok my ribs feel less sore today but now my chest feels sore & burning which I haven’t had for a while. Nose feels stuffy, headache and i feel like i have a cold coming. A little bit breathless as well. Hope this goes away soon.

Hi all

Hoping all are OK

Still feeling a bit burning chest, sore throat and twitches. I am not sure if its improving or not really. Its just sometimes better than other times.

Has anyone been suffering for this long and then it just disappear? Seems to be hanging on for so many of us.

RickyBooth · 18/06/2020 19:18

@Theforest It sure does iv lost count of how many weeks in I am now and still have the odd symptom showing itself from the lump in throat to the odd discomfort in chest im sure it will go in the end.

RickyBooth · 18/06/2020 19:20

@Annie20061 Iv not noticed any thing like hair loss that's a strange symptom. And seems you are very much like me seems to go one day then back again just making itself noticed.

alreadytaken · 18/06/2020 20:27

hope it's OK to mention this study, they are keen to recruit more people www.qmul.ac.uk/covidence/about-the-covidence-uk-study/

Feeling some SOB today. First time in weeks. Totally demoralising

Annie20061 · 20/06/2020 09:15

@Theforest i know how you feel it is demoralising. yesterday i had very slight SOB. My lasting issues seem to be circulating between slight SOB, painful ribs, sore throat, aching, lump in throat & feeling like I’m coming down with a cold stuffy nose etc. Most days I’m managing a short walk.
My hair loss has stopped lasted for about 5 days, really weird about 40-50 hairs lost each day now back to normal- lucky i have loads of fine hair or i might have gone bald.

@alreadytaken signed up thank you for sharing

@RickyBooth this virus certainly doesn’t want to let go & just when you think it maybe gone, you get another slight symptom. One day it will be gone totally - I’m so much better than i was a few weeks ago, we are getting better just gradually

OP posts:
Theforest · 20/06/2020 12:40

@Annie20061 @RickyBooth @Pinklynx

SOB not here today thankfully. Just the normal burning feeling, sore throat, a little upper back pain and a few twitches in for good measure!! Wink
I am definitely going out for a walk after lunch. This probably isn't helped by just pottering around the house and not getting enough exercise. I need to get out more!! Nothing to strenuous just a stroll.

Hair loss is alarming, but good that it has stopped now. I havent experienced that.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Annie20061 · 21/06/2020 19:58

@Theforest did you go on your stroll? How are you feeling now?

Had a really good day then literally in the last hour feeling awful belly pains, diarrhoea, hot & feeling sick, sore throat and a bit of SOB added in. I’ve come up to bed to rest & watch tv or sleep. Wish this would just all go away now Sad

OP posts:
Theforest · 22/06/2020 13:57

@Annie20061 yes I did. About a mile I think. It was good. Will try to out later too. Weather getting better now.

Still haven't called GP in a while though. Don't really want to go to the surgery or for tests as worried just in case this isn't COVID and I'm more susceptible now. Might just see how it goes for a while longer.

Yesterday evening didn't sound good. Any better today?

Annie20061 · 22/06/2020 18:08

@Theforest yes Thank you i am feeling better today, i was up a bit in the night with a dodgy belly. SOB today slightly but there most of the day. Slightly sore ribs but apart from these 2 things i feel ok. I managed a short walk today, it’s really nice to get out in the fresh air.

Ok i can understand your reluctance to go and see the GP. You sort of know if things are going in the right direction.

Yesterday was a small blip but today i am feeling better so I know i am going in the right direction. Hoping everybody is doing ok today.

Annie20061 · 24/06/2020 14:37

Is anybody else suffering today? Tight chest and bad SOB today. Maybe the really hot weather making it worse

OP posts:
RickyBooth · 24/06/2020 15:19

@Annie20061 Still a bit hit and miss here seems i get about 3 good days then one bad also the lump is still there an hour or so a day but its very minor just slight nothing like before.

Theforest · 24/06/2020 18:33

No more than any other day really @Annie20061 How are you now?

Annie20061 · 24/06/2020 19:33

@Theforest worse than yesterday SOB and tight chest started after lunch time, i think it is this hot weather. The ribs aren’t as sore though. Lump in my throat today as well. I don’t feel as tired though. The breathing has been the constant thing for me through all of this - wish it would just go.

@RickyBooth you are up & down as well. Some days I’m out doing short walks & pottering around the house & other days I’m like this. So fed up of it Sad
