Theforest Thank you. That’s what I thought. Doctor hasn’t suggested it though and I felt silly asking.
Up until lockdown I would have been with my elderly parents a lot and I don’t know how they would have not caught it too. Could happen I suppose.
I also had a d dimer test come back high and was sent to a and e. They repeated it, said it had come down and sent me home with no explanation. I wonder if anyone else had this?
At the minute the centre and right of my chest is burning sore and that would be at least three months.

JustMeG · 12/07/2020 19:34

@nicky2512 similar to mine but it's left side with me. I had a GP appointment on Thursday she checked me over and diagnosed me with inflamed chest wall and breast bone and a inflamed cartridge in the rib. All I can do is take paracetamol and rest. Doctor said it can last up to 3 months. How are you feeling today?

nicky2512 · 12/07/2020 21:33

@JustMeG Thank you for replying. I feel quite rough today but I overdid it a bit.
I think I will speak to GP again this week. Covid has never been suggested by them at any time but I’m really starting to wonder. I was googling antibody tests!!
I just seem to fit so much with what so many on here are saying and the horrible burning sensation is so unusual. Not something I’ve ever had before.
I hope you have some relief soon.

Jebel · 13/07/2020 09:18

@nicky2512 the chest pressure was something I had when I thought I had it (I tested negative back in March but still think I had it). Our lodger had similar symptoms to me (headache, chest pressure, swollen glands, loss of taste etc), my husband had a mild cough, kids had a mild temperature one night but wouldn't have thought to take their temperature if I hadn't have been ill.

@TravelToFranceOrNot cool hurting breath is great description. I run a lot and have a pain after I run now.

I am not in the UK, I require a test to go back to work so was tested yesterday and results are negative (as expected as I was ill back in March) . I had a brief consultation with a Dr and mentioned my ongoing episodes of illness. I asked her whether it was worth doing an antibody test and she said she thought there was no point as we still know so little about the disease and how long people have antibodies for so it wouldn't tell me anything. Am still quite tempted!

nicky2512 · 14/07/2020 19:16

@Jebel That would be too much of a coincidence. Lots of people seem to test negative although they really do seem to have it.
I’m wondering if an antibody test would be worth it but they seem very unreliable.

Annie20061 · 15/07/2020 07:06

@Theforest i am still working and feeling the same, aching, slight SOB (in evenings), sore throat & tiredness. I eat dinner then go to bed. Symptoms have not got worse so thats good.

Hope you’re doing ok as well now

@nicky2512 not everyone seems to have had the cough or the fever with the covid. I think you should talk to your GP - it maybe Covid related or it could be something else. Maybe they need to do some more tests just to rule out anything else. Hope you feel better soon.

nicky2512 · 15/07/2020 07:41

@Annie20061 I will speak to Doc again (and not let them just rush me off the phone with another antibiotic or inhaler!). Thank you. Hope things improve for you too.

Theforest · 16/07/2020 14:50

@Annie20061 well at least it hasn't got worse since returning. It's hard when you just have to get back to work.

I haven't been feeling too bad this week. Slight burning chest at times but feels a little better.

Went walking round a local ancient landmark at the weekend which was wonderful. Lovely to get out of town and be somewhere with so much open space. Quite exhilarating after so long being at home. Thought it might set me back but was ok.

Hope you are ok going well and recovering albeit slowly.

Annie20061 · 16/07/2020 17:55

@Theforest I’m glad you are feeling quite good and managed to get out to somewhere different at the weekend. We did this a couple of weekends ago and I thoroughly loved it as well. It really lifts your spirits.

Chest is very tight today and SOB - i am sat at work now. I think its the humidity in the air.

@Annie20061 @RickyBooth @nicky2512 @Jebel @JustMeG @Kitcat122 @Charlieandthechocolatecake and all

How is everyone doing? Hoping getting a little better for you all. I am slightly better I think. Slow going though...

onlinelinda · 22/07/2020 17:20

Hi

I have a rotten cold since yesterday. It does feel quite different to covid, though. Much more a head cold and in the nose, which is stuffed up and slightly runny, and a different type of sore throat DD had it over the weekend. In terms of cv I'm pretty well over it, although possibly I don't walk as far yet on the longer walks.

How are you?

Jebel · 22/07/2020 18:35

@Theforest glad you are a bit better. I had two covid tests last week (not in the uk, they like testing here), both negative which was expected as this is not the same as the original illness. I have had a bunch of blood tests, chest X-ray (insurance culture, they love to test) all normal. One dr told me it's normal to have 6-12 viruses a year, I said no it's not when I've been in bloody isolation! I'm thinking it's post-viral fatigue, it comes and goes, feeling a bit better from latest episode.

nicky2512 · 22/07/2020 19:21

@Theforest Thank you. I’m glad you are having a little bit of a better time. Just don’t over do things because you don’t feel as bad.
I spoke to my doctor last week and asked if he thought Covid was a possibility. He basically said who knows? He couldn’t rule it out. He wasn’t as dismissive as I expected.
He gave me a steroid inhaler and said if there was no improvement in a few weeks he’d refer me to respiratory clinic.
I don’t think I feel just as breathless this week but I have rested more. Burning and random soreness in chest hasn’t eased any.

@onlinelinda I hope you feel better soon.

RickyBooth · 23/07/2020 01:00

Hey all sorry iv not been on for so long now back at work but iv noticed for sure that my energy levels are so low i seem to get very worn out. also still have that feeling of a lump in throat every now and again and very slight chest pain nothing much but its just there. any how hope your all well i keep updating.

Annie20061 · 23/07/2020 07:21

@Theforest i agree it’s slow going. I am the same as before not any better and not any worse. Tiredness, aches & pains, sore throat (on&off), SOB slight in evenings & sore ribs. heart rate seems better when walking now that is the only improvement. I seem to have plateaued to this point - hope these last few issues go soon.

@RickyBooth i am still at work as well. I find i lack energy and I’m tired all the time. I sleep all night solid, which is unlike me so i know my body needs the rest.

@onlinelinda hope you feel better soon

@Jebel its good the post viral fatigue is improving. The doctors don’t know so they just say stuff - how do you get viruses isolating... My doctor tried to offer me a coronavirus test thinking it was an antibody test ... asked me what symptoms i had and i had to tell him it was the wrong test. Then he said oh no sorry the antibody tests are just for NHS staff. I really think they don’t know enough so they can’t advise right now - i hope that changes soon.

@nicky2512 It’s good you’re feeling a bit better and that your doctor is listening to you. Hope you recover fully soon. The post viral symptoms seem to last for so long. Sad

nicky2512 · 23/07/2020 07:44

@Annie20061 What you said about your doctor is interesting - mine came straight out and said he really doesn’t have a clue about it. He as much as said no one really did. That they just were going by what they were hearing at the time. That was why he wouldn’t rule it out as the cause of my problems even though I didn’t have typical symptoms and vulnerable family members didn’t get it.
It’s so frightening to think that no one really knows what to expect.

Annie20061 · 23/07/2020 07:57

@nicky2512 at least your doctor is honest. This is a new virus and they are still trying to figure it out. It is frightening, i agree, I’m just taking one day at a time and not thinking about it too much... just how i feel from day to day. Lots of people are recovering some seem to take longer than others. I am loads better than i was weeks ago, i will get there just slowly. hope we both are feeling ourselves again soon Smile

nicky2512 · 23/07/2020 08:32

@Annie20061
Following on here has made me feel a lot better that others are in the same boat. This week I have really slowed down and I am trying to take it easy. That has helped but I appreciate not everyone can do that.
Take care.

JustMeG · 23/07/2020 13:43

@theforest still the same here, spoke to GP again she said the symptoms could last for up to 3 months. Glad your feeling a little better. Thanks for asking.

onlinelinda · 23/07/2020 23:13

Thank you @nicky2512 and @Annie20061

Annie20061 · 23/07/2020 23:30

@JustMeG did the doctor mean after you recover from covid 3 months? I’m already passed 3 months week 15 next monday since start of my symptoms. if it’s 3 months from virus leaving maybe i will be recovered soon Smile

@nicky2512 yes it helps to know you are not the only one, i find it helpful too. I will be resting this weekend can’t wait

OP posts:
JustMeG · 24/07/2020 10:59

@Annie20061 she didn't say just said up to 3 months. I didn't botther to ask, because they don't really seem to know. It's all guess work. Hope it's gone completely for you very soon.

RickyBooth · 24/07/2020 19:58

@Annie20061 @Theforest @JustMeG @nicky2512 @onlinelinda and all just a follow up iv had to take today of work woke up feeling unwell throat and chest were sore and feeling like no energy at all my work decided as a safety measure i should stay off untill after weekend. think i might just have a bug on top of recovering. but symptoms seem to last a very long time. :(

nicky2512 · 24/07/2020 20:31

@RickyBooth
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better soon. Try to have a good rest over the weekend.
There just seems to be no sense to this. I know it feels like every time I think one symptom has started to feel a bit better then something else feels worse.
I genuinely think I could happily stay in bed all day I’m so tired and I’m not like that. I have fibromyalgia and I usually muddle along quite well but everything seems worse. Thankfully I have two teens so I can get a bit of help.
Take care. And try to stay positive.

Annie20061 · 24/07/2020 20:50

@RickyBooth hope you feel better soon. Sounds like you just need some rest. I have been worried about picking up another bug at work, our immune systems must be low after fighting this off that it will be easy to pick up something else.
