Hi @Annie20061 Felling a lot better today got a good bit of sleep and I spent time doing a few things in the garden with wife and daughters was so nice. Still have the niggles and get tired real quick

AvocadoPrime · 16/05/2020 21:30

It's really really nice to see some positives. So I've been on antibiotics for 4 days now and my symptoms started 29 days ago. Yesterday I had to take myself to bed at 12-3.30 in the afternoon for a nap. Today I felt decent! Managed to eat 3 whole meals and change my bed sheets, go for a walk with the baby and cook! Now I'm feeling tired and have ths heavy chest. Hoping I've not set myself up for a failure tomorrow but I'm so hopeful!
I ordered an antibody test today since I was tested so late into symptoms starting.

Cusano34 · 16/05/2020 22:01

Hi everyone! Glad to see people are feeling better, yay! Fingers crossed it carries on!
The only thing I have left is an annoying lingering cough that comes out every couple of days. It’s not bad, some days I don’t cough at all!
Ah let us know about the antibody test @AvocadoPrime that’ll be really interesting!
I hope everyone has a good night sleep!

RickyBooth · 17/05/2020 00:16

@AvocadoPrime Sounds Like you have been doing a lot but its great that your getting better also and well the bad days do arrive but they pass and then it goes for every one bad day you get two good and so on. Please let us know how the antibody test goes im thinking of getting one also.

@Cusano34 That's fantastic. its great to see people getting over this nasty virus.

Annie20061 · 17/05/2020 08:44

@AvocadoPrime where did you order the antibody test please? I want to definitely get one.
@RickyBooth @Cusano34 @AvocadoPrime it is great to see we are all getting better. Another good night - the sob only comes on if i do too much & then it goes after a few minutes if i sit down. Still having little niggles rib pain, aching & tiredness. So happy with my progress after the set back last monday 👍

www.treated.com/testing-centre/covid-19-antibody-test this is where I got my test.

I'm glad you had a good night and feeling okay. I feel awful again today. Really congested. Feel like I'm breathing through talcum powder. Left side of my chest is sore and upper left shoulder Sad DP goes back to work tomorrow and just me and 14MO DS. So worried about it. I'm struggling to get off the sofa today

Theforest · 17/05/2020 18:44

Hi everyone. Glad to see quite a few of us are feeling a bit better. I have felt much better over the last couple of days. Not 100% but on the way.

@AvocadoPrime How are you feeling now? Have things improved for you today? Interested to know how you get on with the anti body test. Are they accurate yet?

AvocadoPrime · 17/05/2020 18:55

@Theforest.. I am glad you are feeling better! Hopefully it continues Flowers
I brought the abbott antibody test which is approved by PHE. So I'm hopeful. I will share my results when I have them.

@RickyBooth @Annie20061 @Cusano34 Did anyone else get a occasional cough but bring up mucus towards the end? I've had mucus but it's been more from sinuses and my cough has been dry but occasional. Now it's more often but bringing stuff up. Can't work out if this is good or bad.
I havent done anything today. Just so tired and still tightness of the chest and feels like breathing through fog although says are okay, 98%

Cusano34 · 17/05/2020 19:44

@avocadoprime yes me! But it’s not a lot at all...maybe once or twice a day and very small amounts

ACautionaryTale · 17/05/2020 19:59

What is "sob"?

I THINK I have it - but I'm not sure
I started with a cough last week but as I'd missed a few doses of esomeprazole which I take for aside reflux induced cough, I assumed it was that. It was exactly the same cough so didn't think anything of it.

That was Monday.

Thursday night I totally lost my sense of taste and smell.

No temperature, no lung pain, no severe cough, no sore throat.

I've started my period today which means I take codeine for very severe pain and I'm a bit spaced out as a result. Avoiding the naproxen I also take just in case.

I have no problems breathing but I do feel a bit lightheaded - but that's most likely the codeine.

I have no idea if I have it or not - but I've NEVER lost my sense of smell and taste in the 44 years I've been on this earth - until this week. So I am assuming it is.

Temp still normal at 37 but slightly higher as it has been low 36s.

Figure if I have it, its a very mild dose as I'm a week in now.

RickyBooth · 17/05/2020 21:07

@AvocadoPrime Yes for sure but feels more like a lump in my throat that just wont shift also very dry the cough for me was very slight a day or two.

@ACautionaryTale I Guess you will have to wait see if you get any more symptoms hopefully fingers crossed if you do its very mild but we are now around 5/6 weeks in so it can be a slow long and frustrating.

Well today iv a little chest pain but I put it down to doing jobs in the garden also still not sleeping well its so annoying was a little sob this morning but did not last long an hour or two and I started felling better.

RickyBooth · 17/05/2020 21:10

@Annie20061 That's Fantastic looks like we are on the road to recovery but wow what a battle but there is light at the end of that tunnel

Annie20061 · 17/05/2020 21:16

@ACautionaryTale shortness of breath. My partner has had a mild dose as well which I’m glad of. Hope you are 100% better soon.
@AvocadoPrime no I haven’t had a cough at all through all of this. My breathing felt like this for
ages & my oximeter read between 96-99. My partner was told he couldn’t go back to work until i had fully recovered he is going to go back in tomorrow. I hope you feel a bit better tomorrow as your partner is going back to work.
@Theforest glad to hear you have been feeling better the last couple of days.

I just wish i could get rid of the rib pain & back pain (back of lungs) - anybody else experiencing this its really uncomfortable... really sore.

OP posts:
Annie20061 · 17/05/2020 21:19

@RickyBooth yes i feel there is light at the end of the tunnel now. It has been dreadful, so many different symptoms experienced and by far the worst illness i have ever had. I had swine flu when that was around that was horrid but its nothing on this.

OP posts:
ACautionaryTale · 17/05/2020 21:26

@RickyBooth

I had swine flu when it was about and I’ve never felt as sick in my life.

If I do have Covid and this is it - it’s a walk in the park in comparison

RickyBooth · 17/05/2020 21:43

@ACautionaryTale iv never had swine flu so id never know @Annie20061 as for the pain the GP told me to take ibuprofen yes I was like are you sure he was yes they helped allot but id check with your own GP first but it does seem to linger these niggles we both have my chest is sore again :(

Annie20061 · 18/05/2020 16:28

@ACautionaryTale its very unfortunate that we managed to contract both viruses. It’s weird how different things effect people differently & they can have a milder dose, like my partner did. I hope you are feeling ok.
@RickyBooth thanks i have called GP today re ibruprofen. First day with no antibiotics so far so good just ribs hurting. Sat in the sun in the garden. Hope you are having a good day today.

OP posts:
RickyBooth · 18/05/2020 19:18

@Annie20061 Yep its been an ok day like you im still a little sore but no way as bad as yesterday. As for the ibuprofen im taking the strong ones 400mg they help a lot but can mask symptoms. Think that's why some GPs don't like us using them for the virus

ACautionaryTale · 18/05/2020 23:52

@Annie20061

I''m doing ok

Developed a temp tonight which is oscillating between 37.5 and 38.1 - I figure that's my body doing its job.

Still no lung, throat or breathing issues, cough appears to be lessening and my sense of taste is returning slowly.

Annie20061 · 19/05/2020 06:54

@ACautionaryTale glad you are ok had quite a few nights with a temperature. I hope you got some sleep.

@RickyBooth Hope you are continuing to improve and can enjoy the garden with your wife & kids.

I think I’m having a relapse after a week, i came off my antibiotics sunday, i was hot again last night, the rosy cheeks are back & my throat has the closed in feeling & irritated this morning, plus I’ve had a dodgy belly & same old rib pain. I went for a walk yesterday about half hour - i did have to stop a few times but i was ok. I think i overdid it. Really hope this only lasts a day ☹️ I hate this you feel better then you slide backwards again - 50 days since the beginning & feeling depressed today. I’m going to have a rest day today.

OP posts:
Annie20061 · 19/05/2020 07:02

On a positive note, i have a fitbit & noticed that my bpm has been raised since this started used to be 63-65, went up to 69 & then up to 73-79 range. It seems to be coming back down again to 69 - hopefully it will go back to its old level again soon.

OP posts:
RickyBooth · 19/05/2020 15:08

@ACautionaryTale So good to hear that you are getting your taste back and that you don't seem to have developed the nasty side.

@Annie20061 Sad to hear that its still giving issues for you and well fingers crossed its just a day thing and that you feel better later or tomorrow and please try not get depressed we will get better. My chest is still a little sore throat is dry and lump is present a little my wife has also noticed a strange rash on my back has any one else had this??

Annie20061 · 19/05/2020 17:26

@RickyBooth i had red rash on my legs just above the knee area but it only lasted a day then was gone. Thank you yes we will get better it’s just so long winded

OP posts:
Cusano34 · 19/05/2020 20:02

Sometimes when I take a deep breath I think I can feel something in my throat again and my chest. So unsure if it’s anxiety though, as I suffer anyway!

@AvocadoPrime how long do the results take? Was it easy to take the test? Hope you’re all feeling ok xx
