@Annie20061 Yes seems that way immune being low i just feel yuck so tired.

JustMeG · 24/07/2020 21:12

@RickyBooth sorry to hear that, I hope you feel better very soon. It seems to be one thing after another with it. Get plenty of rest if you can and take care.

Annie20061 · 30/07/2020 08:36

Hi, how is everyone? Me I’m totally fed up with feeling like this everyday - having a down day Sad heart rate keeps spiking up to 140 when i go for walks still and still feel the same. Breathlessness a little better & not quite so tired, but it’s baby steps. I just want to be able to exercise go on my bike & go for long walks - I’m putting on weight Sad everyday feels like groundhog day

Theforest · 30/07/2020 09:57

Hi @Annie20061
Sorry to hear things aren't good. Is that gentle walking or more energetic? Have you got any annual leave booked soon? Maybe a rest from work again will be good.

I'm putting on weight too. I'm thinking I might start 5:2 fasting but harder with a house full all the time.
We have a couple of weeks off soon and going to start getting the house ready for putting up for sale. I am concerned it will be too much exertion but it will be a test I guess.

RickyBooth · 30/07/2020 12:04

@Annie20061 I'm the same so fed up with this now cant get energy back work is so hard iv had to take days off yesterday was back to throat restriction and was laid up most the day. Iv booked in a weeks holiday from work next week to see if i can somehow shake it of.

RickyBooth · 30/07/2020 12:06

@Theforest Hope things go well for you putting house up for sale.

Annie20061 · 31/07/2020 07:14

@Theforest i was walking at a local lake so only normal walking. I’ve not even tried biking yet or anything more strenuous. GP said yesterday it can be caused by having recovered from a virus so should go soon... i hope so. I have 11 days booked at the end of August I can’t wait. I need to do some sort of diet as I cannot exercise properly.

Good luck with your house sale - I’m in lettings the sales department where i work are flat out so many buyers out there right now.

Annie20061 · 31/07/2020 07:22

@RickyBooth i am wiped out and I’m mainly sat at my desk all day, the odd viewing here and there but mainly inside. Your job is more physical so I’m not surprised you have taken time off. I don’t think i could cope with lifting things at the moment. I hope you feel loads better resting while you’re off.

Yesterday was awful. I feel a bit better today and it’s friday and i have the wkend off Smile i am literally just taking each day as it comes.

GP said they are setting up long covid centres for people who are still suffering sadly there isn’t one by me yet, but you might one near you.

OP posts:
RickyBooth · 31/07/2020 18:17

@Annie20061Yep i know the felling after being off last week and now being off again cant hardly lift a parcel. So tired but cant sleep so this week im just taking it easy also having a meeting to see if i can go on morning shift for a little while as its not as demanding as the night.

Theforest · 31/07/2020 18:40

@Annie20061 @RickyBooth Thanks guys. I am hoping we will be able to take advantage of the stamp duty holiday, but who knows if it will work out...

Being so hot today is a struggle. Thankfully cooler tomorrow. Take it easy and hopefully that will help.

Babdoc · 31/07/2020 18:59

Sorry to hear so many are still struggling. I’m at 4 months now since being hospitalised with covid, and my breathlessness got worse last week. I ended up having a CT pulmonary angiogram on Friday as they thought I might have a pulmonary embolus.
Turns out I haven’t- instead I’ve got covid induced microangiopathy- damage to the small blood vessels in the lung that pick up oxygen from the alveoli and get it into circulation.
There is no treatment, and they don’t know whether it will remain this bad for life, or progress to the point of respiratory failure, or get better with time. There’s not enough data on long term outcomes for patients with this complication.

I’m finding it disabling, frightening and depressing, particularly as I live alone. Ironically, a pulmonary embolus would have been better news as I could have been treated with anticoagulant.
Surviving the initial acute infection is only the beginning with covid - it’s the months and months battling with muscle pain, fatigue, weakness, breathlessness and excess lung secretion that is so exhausting and demoralising. And if there are lots of us long termers, it has huge implications for the NHS in resources.

Annie20061 · 03/08/2020 07:54

@Babdoc i hope it does get better with time for you. sorry to hear you have been through so much and alone. I was never hospitalised i am 4 months now. I agree it is scary And there is nobody really helping us. My GP suggested a 24 hour heart monitor but I haven’t heard back from her. Hope we all get some good new soon.

@RickyBooth hope you get moved to the mornings. That sounds as if it may help you.

@Theforest the stamp duty holiday is great definitely take advantage of it. We aren’t in a position to move yet another couple of years away for us. Good luck Smile

Did anyone with a confirmed positive test have swollen eye as a symptom? I say this having attended a garden bbq and out to a couple pubs last week. I have very odd feeling sore throat (like front of my neck has been pressed in) and a very swollen eye. Thought it was just a stye at first as started on upper eyelid in a corner but now the whole upper eyelid and 'bag' area under my eye have completely puffed up. No real discharge/oozing yet like I've had with conjuctivitis in the past.

Annie20061 · 03/08/2020 19:42

@LonelyFromCorona no i had sore eyes but not puffy or swollen. Mine started with sire throat and burning like fire in my chest. Hope you feel better soon.

OP posts:
Theforest · 07/08/2020 15:01

Hi everyone. How you are today in this heat?

I havent been feeling too bad really. Less burning definitely. Throat has been OK. A lot less muscle spasms. Going to try to woodstain the garden fence at the weekend, so that will certainly be interesting to see the impact of the exercise!

RickyBooth · 07/08/2020 15:43

@Theforest Much the same here bad days and good still no energy doctor has said it will take time so i guess iv just got to go with it. Hope the fence staining goes ok.

JustMeG · 08/08/2020 22:05

@theforest glad you're feeling a bit better. Try to take things slowly, it gives you a false sense of hope then it all goes downhill again.

I'm still the same, really struggling as the days go on.

I was back at the doctors last Tuesday was booked in for bloods Thursday couldn't go wasn't feeling well enough.

@RickyBooth sorry to hear that, I hope you feel better very soon.

Annie20061 · 14/08/2020 21:19

Hi Everyone, I’m certainly glad it is cooler this week. I’m still not right, i feel tired everyday and the shortness of breath comes on every few days. I hope @RickyBooth you are feeling better now. How did you feel after your fence staining @Theforest?
@JustMeG hope you are feeling better this week

OP posts:
JustMeG · 15/08/2020 08:09

@Annie20061 sorry to hear that.

I'm still the same, pretty much same as you constantly tired, really struggling with my breathing.

I have been losing weight due to not being able to swallow solids.

Doctors haven't been much help he basically told me to just live with it in the hopes it goes soon.

I hope you feel better really soon.

Theforest · 15/08/2020 09:46

Hi @Annie20061 the painting went well thanks. A couple of days later I have felt a little more SOB again but not stopping me doing anything so guess it's not too bad. Oxygen levels are fine and heart rate is up a bit from what it was.
Im don't know what my rate was before all this as a comparison. I'm sure the hot humid weather didn't help. Thank goodness for thunder storms.

@JustMeG it is worrying that you can swallow properly. Have you managed to get blood tests done yet?

How is everyone else doing? @RickyBooth @LonelyFromCorona @Babdoc @nicky2512 @onlinelinda @ACautionaryTale @Solomi @SirBale

Babdoc · 15/08/2020 11:43

Hello Theforest, thanks for asking. I’m much the same, although I actually managed 5 hours continuous sleep last night, for the first time in ages, which was a great relief. I’ve been v tired with sleep deprivation, usually waking every 1 or 2 hours.
I’m going away for a break with my DD and her partner in two days’ time, which I’m looking forward to - especially as it means escaping the pneumatic drill noise as my street is being dug up and resurfaced for the next fortnight!
Lungwise, I’m still breathless at about 100 yards, but I think the secretions are a bit less - I’m not spending so many hours swallowing and coughing, or repeatedly waking feeling I’m drowning.
I’ve managed to do my own shopping for about 6 weeks now, with help to pack from the checkout lady. But any progress seems desperately slow and often slips back again - I’ve had so many temporary hopes of recovery be dashed a few days later, that I no longer assume an improvement will be permanent. I just try to be grateful for the few days when I can do a bit more.
You are all still in my prayers, and I send my best wishes to all our fellow long covid sufferers.

Theforest · 03/10/2020 19:28

Hi everyone. Its been ages since anyone has posted to this thread. Just wondering how everyone is getting on? Hoping that the energy levels have increased and you are all well on the way back to normality.

I am very nearly there now I hope. Most of the time I am fine - just the occasional burning chest feeling. Hoping you guys are similar.

@Annie20061*@RickyBooth @Babdoc* @JustMeG @Jebel @nicky2512 @Charlieandthechocolatecake

Annie20061 · 03/10/2020 19:57

@Theforest glad you are feeling much better.

I’m still not 100% but much better. I’m still working. I seem to suffer from sore throats & aching alot and mild SOB. I have noticed that my asthma & psoriasis have both come back after not having issues for years. My heart rate has settled down. Energy levels are good i go for a walk every day and this helps. Nice to hear from you and that you are doing well.

I have a flu jab booked next week. I am worried about catching this again - i am just hoping that we have enough immunity 👍

OP posts:
Babdoc · 03/10/2020 22:04

Delighted to hear you are nearly better, Theforest and making progress, Annie20061.
I’m still breathless at 100 yards, heart rate hitting 140 after just one minute of sit stands from a chair.
Chest x ray booked for wednesday, flu jab Monday.
GP and Covid consultant have tested everything- bloods, ecg, lung angio etc. Nothing treatable, sadly, just have to wait and hope for improvement, but after six months of it I’m pretty exhausted.
Like many of you, I have alternating relapses and remissions. On the bad nights I’m desaturating to 92% and waking every hour or two, needing to use my home oxygen machine to pick me back up. But I had a few good days this week - I very slowly walked two miles round a local loch, puffing and stopping for breath, the best I’ve managed since getting out of hospital. And I mowed my own lawn, for the first time in nearly six months - had to rest halfway through, but I did it! And I’ve done my own weekly supermarket shop for a couple of months now.
So I just take it a day a time and try not to have unrealistic hopes. At least the muscle weakness, fizzing and aching seem to have settled - I haven’t had that for a few weeks. It’s just the heavy lungs full of liquid, the breathlessness and cough that I’m stuck with. But I’m alive to moan about it, and I can have visits from my lovely DDs, so I count my blessings! And the virus has burned ten pounds off my weight, which has stayed off, despite my treating myself to a box of chocs and 4 custard tarts a week Grin
I keep all of you in my prayers still, and I hope there comes a day when this thread is redundant, because all of us are better.

RickyBooth · 04/10/2020 12:47

@Annie20061 @Theforest @Babdoc And all
