Annie20061 · 25/06/2020 15:44

@RickyBooth well at least they know and hopefully you will have a good day. I still feel breathless today - I’m pretty sure it’s the heat that has set it off. It’s cooler on Saturday hope it goes by the time i go back to work next Wednesday.

Theforest · 25/06/2020 18:50

@Annie20061 @RickyBooth Hi guys - hope you both get on OK at work next week. Luckily I have worked from home throughout this and there is no expectation to go back to the office for the foreseeable future.

Annie - the heat certainly wont be helping. Just try to keep as cool as possible. Lots of ice cream maybe Grin We are going to get a delivery this evening as dont want to cook. Might add some ice cream to the order!

Pinklynx · 26/06/2020 10:16

Hi Annie20061 just checking in to see how you're doing?

It sounds like the chest is improving? Mine is less tight now. I'm not noticing it all the time like I did before. Hopefully for all of us it's a question of time. I've been really looking after myself in terms of good food, v moderate exercise and lots of rest. I do wonder whether some of us who get it this badly are the type who generally put others first and push through, so are a bit low when they get it. I've never focused on myself so much in my life, even doing facemasks and footmasks as part of the pampering.

I'm lucky I work from home but it must be harder if you have to go out to work. Hopefully your bosses will continue to make accommodations for you. Also if you can, get others to pick up the slack at home! 💕

Theforest · 28/06/2020 15:45

@Annie20061 @RickyBooth @Pinklynx

So how are things guys?

In a way I feel a bit better in general (slowly still), but I am thinking of calling GP to discuss it all in general as havent discussed this with anyone medical since beginning of May. I assume they will just do this over the phone still. Did you go to any face to face appointments?

RickyBooth · 28/06/2020 15:49

Hi im doing ok not 100% a little throat lump and energy levels are still low but getting there day by day. And yes i got to see my doctor face to face most the way through my struggles with it. But so glad to hear your felling a little better also :)

RickyBooth · 28/06/2020 15:49

Solomi · 28/06/2020 17:05

I had suspected covid in march and it lasted til mid may, thankfully I feel fine now.
The only thing is I did an at home blood test for something unrelated and noticed that my blood was incredibly thick and sticky, something that I've not noticed before.
I did the worst thing and googled 'sticky blood' thinking it may just mean that my iron levels are finally better or something.
The first thing that came up was something about covid causing sticky thick blood Shock, I'm now worried..has anyone had anything similar at all?
I dont know whether to bother my gp about it as I feel fine now but honestly I've never had such sticky blood in my life.

Theforest · 28/06/2020 18:13

@RickyBooth Getting there slowly then! Lets hope this is it, this time.

@Solomi I havent heard of sticky blood for covid, but I havent had a blood test or anything recently, so I wouldnt know myself. It is such a strange virus with such a variety of ailments... Glad you are now otherwise symptom free. Its a long slog isnt it.

JustMeG · 28/06/2020 18:49

Hi I've name changed as I was doing another post.
Just a quick question, has anyone had headaches with tightness around the throat.
I've had an headache for 4 days then suddenly today my throat started getting tight as if something was wrapped around it. I then felt fine for a few hours but now the tightness is back. Thanks in advance.

Annie20061 · 29/06/2020 08:52

Hi Everyone, sorry not to have replied or gotten back to you. @Theforest only been to see the GP once but i have had quite a few telephone calls from them. It’s worth calling them.

@RickyBooth good luck for today hope your first day goes well 🍀

Annie20061 · 29/06/2020 08:59

@Pinklynx up and down to be honest. Lady Wednesday & thursday awful SOB. Friday a bit better. The wkend up until last night it was there but better. Getting pains in ribs still on & off, SOB, aches & throat lump (on&off). I think it’s improving then it comes back again.

I am the type to push myself even when I’m not feeling well, to just get on with things and i was always on the go before i got ill. My partner has been fab so he has been doing alot of the cooking & general looking after the house.

Sounds like you’re feeling a bit better as well - we will get there, just wish it was quicker Smile

Solomi · 29/06/2020 09:18

@theforest I thought I was out the other side but possibly not with this new symptom.
I hope the rest of you get well soon..its an awful awful virus even mildly having it,it was the worst thing ive had.

RickyBooth · 29/06/2020 12:47

@Annie20061 And all did my firs night shift last night and well it was bloody hard work so tired this morning burn in chest but it might take a few days to get back into the swing of things. But my duties were light if i was offloading wagons i would be in real trouble.

Pinklynx · 29/06/2020 12:49

Annie20061 I think that's exactly the progress of this illness. You feel a lot better then you start doing more then it bites you back on the bum. I did that last week and then felt a lot more soreness in my ribs and general fatigue and sore throat. So I spent most of Saturday in bed and not doing any exercise and feel much better again today. I'm not going to risk going downhill!

My husband has done all the shopping and cooking since lockdown. But I did it for the previous twenty years, so don't feel guilty!

JustMeG I didn't have headaches, although I know they're common, but I did have a very sore throat early on. And if I'm feeling under the weather the sore throat comes back. Have you been diagnosed with it?

Porcupineinwaiting · 29/06/2020 14:36

@Solomi if you think your blood us still sticky please speak to your gp asap. It is (can be) a COVID thing and can be dangerous (depending on level of stickiness).

MrsBennetsnerves · 29/06/2020 15:05

Afternoon all. I've been off to the GP today as I developed new symptoms over the weekend. Chest pain whenever I move or take a deep breath. It happens when I walk around, reach for something etc. I'm getting a chest xray tomorrow. Could be pleurisy.

Charlieandthechocolatecake · 30/06/2020 01:09

I've only just found this.

I was at work early April and suddenly had to stand up when I couldn't take a whole breath. It was really scary. Since then I've had to occasionally take really deep breaths to try and keep up if that makes sense.

I don't have a cough but I'm constantly clearing my throat to unblock my airways. I'm sweating like mad but my temp is still within the normal range.

I had uncomfortable chest pains in April but they're not as harsh now.

I'm constantly exhausted. I fall asleep in seconds if I'm sitting down reading a book. I'm a key worker and working from home and I just about manage to stay alert.

I don't know what to think. I can get a test easily but I'm a smoker and to be honest I'm scared that it's cancer. Has anybody had these thoughts?

Charlieandthechocolatecake · 30/06/2020 01:13

I've had tightness in my throat since April. Like something is squeezing my airways. No cough. Its really scary. Is that what they mean by breathlessness do you think?

Annie20061 · 30/06/2020 08:27

@Charlieandthechocolatecake have you been talking to your GP? If not, i would definitely call them they can send you for tests, chest xray etc. I became ill early April and still have the lump feeling in my throat & have to keep clearing it. I have a tight chest and SOB that feels as if it coms from my throat - my GP has just put me on heartburn medication saying it might help. Hope you feel better soon.

Annie20061 · 30/06/2020 08:31

@MrsBennetsnerves good luck for chest xray. I had this about 3-4 weeks ago, it has got better but ribs are still sore. My chest xray was clear.

@RickyBooth glad you completed your first night and you’re ok. I expect you will be knackered for a few weeks - i am expecting it.

MrsBennetsnerves · 30/06/2020 10:07

@Annie20061 thanks. I've just come back from hospital - no-one was waiting before me so just in and out. Hoping for a similarly clear result. It was getting to me last night because after 15 weeks of on and off symptoms I was really beginning to believe that I was on the mend. But at least it isn't feeling quite so bad this morning.

@Charlieandthechocolatecake I have had similar feeling of the need to keep clearing my throat at times. Do contact your doctor.
