@RickyBooth about the same. Constricted throat (lots of swallowing), mild sore throat, rib pain (feels better now I’m taking ibruprofen but still there) and slight breathlessness. I’ve managed a short walk a couple of times now.

How are you feeling?

OP posts:
RickyBooth · 25/05/2020 10:30

@Annie20061 Much the same as you our symptoms are very alike getting better but very slow seem to have bouts of it. And yep the ibuprofen does help a lot

SirBale · 25/05/2020 11:50

Not sure if I belong on this one but can’t find the earlier threads.

Tested positive 3 weeks ago today with some mild but none of the classic symptoms. No cough, no temperature and no less of taste or smell.
The last two weekends have struggled massively with fatigue after a couple of good days in the week. Really struggling with whether symptoms now are anxiety or Corona virus related. Heart rate seems to be all over the place and desire to take constant deep breaths all the time even at rest

Living alone doesn’t help either so looking for others in the same boat, what you’ve done that has helped and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Still very sacred of going downhill rapidly.

RickyBooth · 25/05/2020 12:48

@SirBale Hi and yes to symptoms me and @Annie20061 are about 6 weeks in we had a lot to contend with and yes its been a very slow battle. But iv posted in other threads about the anxiety side of the virus and how big a part it has to play. But I think you have to try keep your thoughts positive. try not to look at the news constant and reading up the horror stuff on the web. But for sure there is light at the end of the tunnel

Annie20061 · 25/05/2020 18:14

@SirBale my heart rate has been higher than my normal for the last month when sitting down or moving around. It us just starting to lower down in the last few days.
There is Mumsnet thread for covid 19 sufferers in excess of 49 days called covid lungs 7 weeks plus/49 plus plus & some of the people on there suffering from fatigue symptoms.
@RickyBooth Is right i am trying not to listen to the news or read too much coronavirus literature. Positive thinking & i found my GP to be very helpful - much better than 111

OP posts:
RickyBooth · 25/05/2020 19:02

@Annie20061 I fully agree 111 is an utter waste of time if you cen for sure use your GP far more helpful and if Anxiety is causing a real issue for you along with symptoms they might even be able to offer something that might help.

@Annie20061 how are you today are you felling any better. My throat is felling restricted again but now seems to just come and go. the rash is fading and lungs are just niggle was sob this morning but only lasted an hour.

RickyBooth · 25/05/2020 19:03

@SirBale First part of last message was for you the @ did not work

Annie20061 · 25/05/2020 19:22

@Rickybooth feeling really tired, Throat feels constricted & itchy, still slight breathlessness which comes & goes. Rib pain still as well. Was sat in the garden then one of my neighbours is having a bbq - had to come in so decided to go to bed. My partner is so good he comes to bed as well to keep me company!

Seems to be the last few symptoms I can’t shift - i think this is the same for you as well. People keep talking about the slack group - what is this & how do i access it please?

OP posts:
SirBale · 25/05/2020 19:58

Thank you both for your replies.

I think I may well phone my GP again tomorrow as I do believe some of my symptoms are as much anxiety as they are coronavirus. Hopefully, he will be able to give something or some suggestions to relieve this. Fair play for those if you on 8 weeks plus though I’m only three weeks in Sad

RickyBooth · 26/05/2020 00:11

@Annie20061 I have no idea what the slack group is im afraid I will try to find out tho. As for me well tonight my bloody throat again constricted and not itchy but dry very dry still a little chest pain but again comes and goes. and that's so nice your partner sounds like an angel and after suffering this you need one and my heart goes out to all that don't have that company. my wife also has given a lot of comfort to me but im not the one that takes receving comfort well but after coronavirus that's all changed.

@SirBale For sure phone get some advice my GP has been fantastic and supportive from the very start its no shame to phone and well if it is anxiety related then they might be able to offer advice.

Annie20061 · 26/05/2020 08:21

@SirBale just because other people have had this 8 weeks plus, everyone seems to be different with this, some lasting longer & some recovering early on. I feel I’m almost recovered now just the niggly bits to get rid of. Let us know what the doctor says.

@Rickybooth yes my partner has been great through all of this. Today i feel cold symptoms on top of the other things- blocked nose & aches all over... i get hayfever so believe its hayfever playing up. Will take a antihistamine & see if it clears.

Hope you both have a good day.

SirBale · 26/05/2020 08:43

Definitely going to phone GP again today. Had a good night sleep and breathing felt fine when I woke up but struggling to motivate myself to get out of bed and feeling increasingly panicky again this morning.

RickyBooth · 26/05/2020 10:45

@SirBale Hope it goes well with the GP sounds to me like your really suffering with anxiety of it all. And its also true what @Annie20061 says some ppl have had this virus a very long time symptoms are so varied.

@Annie20061 Hope you have a good day also. iv got to say im very tired today niggle in lungs but nothing much this morning lets hope it stays that way.

SirBale · 26/05/2020 10:52

Spoke to GP and ended up crying down the phone. He wasn’t unduly worried about any of the symptoms and felt that I was coming to the end of it. Have agreed on a call back on Friday. Still feeling very teary and shaky.

ItsNow · 26/05/2020 10:57

Hi everyone, I have just found this thread.
I have, for the last couple of days, had aching and pains around my back/lungs, and feeling really dizzy. Has anyone else had these symptoms? Apologies if I have missed, didn't read through it all.

Hope everyone is managing okay.

RickyBooth · 27/05/2020 01:34

@SirBale Let us know how it goes but if GP ain't worried you should take that as a good thing and you like us are hopefully getting over it.

@ItsNow yes it can be a symptom but your post is very vague mabe a little more info have you a temp or any issues with breathing.

SirBale · 27/05/2020 07:51

@RickyBooth
I know I definitely need to take consolation from the fact that the Dr didn’t seem to worried about the symptoms and that I was coming to the end of it. Hopefully, this will help me convince myself that some of what I’m feeling now is anxiety rather than directly covid symptoms.

Theforest · 27/05/2020 17:28

Hi everyone including @SirBale and @ItsNow

Yes I have had the aches and pain in back/lungs. I get the odd dizzy feeling especially if I move my head too fast, as well as muscle twitches which I find most unnerving when trying to sleep. I have SOB in the first 4 weeks which seems to have gone now (I hope) but just the above since, as well as sore throat.

DH just thinks its probably anxiety related as much as anything now, but I am unsure. I am in week 7 now and getting a bit sick of it. It worries me that just when you think you are getting better, it just catches up with you again. Nothing too serious compared to some, but didn't think that "mild" would last this long...

It is frustrating that we got symptoms too early for a test..

Theforest · 27/05/2020 17:45

@RickyBooth @Annie20061

Interesting that you say ibruprofen helps with rib pain. I had been avoiding it because of early advice to not take, but seems that is no longer true. Interesting...

RickyBooth · 27/05/2020 18:17

@Theforest Yes but seems advice is wrong my GP told me it was quite fine to take it helps a lot far better than Paracetamol as always id check with your GP tho.

And yep this is so long and drawn out seems that when your just there it comes back in some way. From strange rashes to itchy nose lump in throat ect.

Annie20061 · 27/05/2020 21:38

@RickyBooth I’m still the same really no better & no worse. Managed another short walk today. Its my throat & rib pains mostly. Are you feeling the same as well? Hope your rash is going now. Interestingly i have noticed my heart rate at rest is now nearly at its normal level

@Theforest i was nervous about taking the ibruprofen so i chatted to the GP about it, i am in week 7 & still experiencing sob now & again, she said try it & I’m glad i did. I would definitely call the GP and discuss it.

It is horrible, you get better and then you go back a couple of steps, but I know i am much better than before so i know i am improving, even if i have a little set back. There seems to be lots of cases of more drawn out cases of covid 19 like ours now, keep reading about them.

OP posts:
Annie20061 · 27/05/2020 21:53

@SirBale that good that your GP is calling you tomorrow and thinks you’re coming to the end of it. maybe the GP can give you something to help temporarily with how you’re feeling. It is scary and being on your own is difficult through something like this. Try to think positively and i try to think what i want to do or places i want to visit when we are able to again.... works for me to occupy my mind.

OP posts:
RickyBooth · 27/05/2020 23:50

@Annie20061 Hi and well im ok still have symptoms like flair ups an hour here and an hour of something else there. still not a full strength tried to push myself today but nope was so tired after 20 mins. Just strange things my nose is so irritated not sure if its anything but annoying. also after pushing myself I had some pain in chest. But im hoping im getting over it for sure day by day its getting better. And yes iv noticed also that the cases of this slow drawn out strange that it has so many symptoms

SirBale · 28/05/2020 08:03

@Annie20061

I’m definitely glad the dr is following up with a call again. Had a better day again yesterday although heart still a little high and throat felt a little sore and dry again by the end of the day.
Plan on talking to the dr about the anxiety side of the symptoms and how I can fix that in the short term particularly. Trying really hard to focus on other things but not push myself too hard physically.

Interesting that they are saying ibuprofen is okay to take I’ve only taken paracetamol for the last couple of months after the news reports.

Kitcat122 · 28/05/2020 08:58

I finally decided to take nurofen at the 8 weeks because I was so sick of the chest pain. Worked brilliantly and seemed to to be the turning point for me. Maybe coincidence but lungs have felt way better.
