Not that it matters to me personally, being in Scotland but that was just the biggest load of waffley waffle.
Not even a mention of meeting other households.

As long as you sit in a park 2 metres away from each other.

Maybe
Probably

Stellaris22 · 10/05/2020 19:24

Pretty clear to me.

Bring R rate down by allowing employers to force people back to work in unsafe conditions.

Load of rubbish.

RhymingRabbit3 · 10/05/2020 19:25

Seems pretty clear to me, no you can't go to someone elses house.

The lockdown rules remain the same except you can spend more time outside and dont have to constantly exercise e.g. you can sit and have a picnic. You can play sports. But Social distancing has to be maintained so you can only do those things with members of your own household - PM said that specifically.

Going to someone elses house isn't outdoors, meeting friends isn't social distancing.

Clemmieandareallybigbunfight · 10/05/2020 19:25

What a shitshow. I am embarrassed this is our leader.

FAQs · 10/05/2020 19:26

@RhymingRabbit3 I agree I’m not sure how that’s not clear?

Twilbury · 10/05/2020 19:26

Meeting friends but keeping 2 metres away is doing both I guess ?

Yellowbutterfly1 · 10/05/2020 19:27

Well that was a few minutes I’ll never get back. What a waste of time.

imsooverthisdrama · 10/05/2020 19:28

No he said ok to exercise and sunbathe play sports but only from same household.

Whitestick · 10/05/2020 19:28

Rules about meeting other households have not changed

justdontatme · 10/05/2020 19:28

Zero emotional intelligence not to even mention seeing friends/family. Even if they just said we know it’s really hard but we need to continue with distancing etc. I’m assuming since he said you can only play sports with your household it’s a no go though...

Pootle40 · 10/05/2020 19:29

No socialising - he was pretty clear.

We can exercise (on our own or with household) mutiple times a day. You can sit down and sunbathe etc or play sports (again with your own household).

Only exercise applies in Scotland. No sitting down in the park etc for us so far!

ReyGal · 10/05/2020 19:31

Rules regarding meeting others have not changed. Essentially you can exercise more, drive to exercise, sit on a bench, sunbathe or play sports but only with those in your household.
Although judging by the scenes in parks where I am (North London) people don’t have much regard for the rules anyway 🤷‍♀️

Redolent · 10/05/2020 19:32

He wasn’t clear about it at all. He mention no household mixing ago nine minutes into his waffle. Why thank us profusely for staying at home but not mention that we must continue to be separated for our loved ones for even longer? Like someone said, zero emotional intelligence.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 10/05/2020 19:33

Be alert - Britain needs lerts!

Crimples · 10/05/2020 19:33

I think it’s not been spelt out clearly enough that the rest of the conditions are not changing ie. seeing other households/non resident partners etc.
Yes I get that we are all adults and responsible for our own behaviour but, as recent times have shown, folk will take the chance of any omission of information and kick the arse out of it.
I’m not entirely happy with our lockdown being extended but at least Nicola Sturgeon can get a message out clearly without a load of blustery waffle

Though it was clear. A good statement

bobstersmum · 10/05/2020 19:34

Very strange and pointless broadcast really.

MaddieElla · 10/05/2020 19:35

It was clear if you were listening. Hmm

You can go to the park and play sports BUT ONLY WITH MEMBERS OF YOUR OWN HOUSEHOLD.

He didn't mention socialising with wider family because we are nowhere near that point yet.

mynameiscalypso · 10/05/2020 19:35

I was really surprised that he didn't make a definitive statement about the rules re households mixing not changing.

LizzieSiddal · 10/05/2020 19:37

Well, if you can sit in a park 2 meters away from strangers, I don’t see why you can’t do exactly the same with a friend/family member.

tallrachel · 10/05/2020 19:37

Sweet, nobody can try to make me feel guilty about 35 mile bike rides anymore.

Flaxmeadow · 10/05/2020 19:37

No change to households mixing then

BruceAndNosh · 10/05/2020 19:37

If I can sit 1.5 metres from work colleagues, I should be able to sit 2 m from my parents in their garden. But apparently I can't

Missushbb · 10/05/2020 19:38

Is flaxmeadow a bot?! No way was that or anything that idiot says clear.

tenterden · 10/05/2020 19:39

You can travel to exercise.

So I can drive to Cornwall for a walk on the beach then, yes?

Clear as fucking mud.
