Thread number...4?!? Fucking hell I've never been so popular.

Keep on keeping on and ,moan, whinge and laugh while you enjoy your deliveries and cackle evilly while you kill thousands.

All under the benevolent eye of your awesome , yellow and very ripe leader.

May the bleach be with you.

Apparently we should be ashamed to be British.

Those of you who arent British feel free to cat call and sneer at our pathetic attempts at a lockdown.

Also MNers should be ashamed of discussing anything other than pandemic/lockdown/PPE shortages.

So sack cloth and ashes should be worn by all. Do we wear it under or over the lockdown hair shirt? Should I ask this question in Style and Beauty?

CrowCat · 28/04/2020 16:15

Will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 12 months? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/3893680-Will-you-stick-to-the-rules-if-lockdown-in-the-UK-is-extended-for-another-12-months

The idea that some people would stay in lockdown for another 12 months beggars belief.

Patte · 28/04/2020 16:19

I could cope with the bubble thing (particularly as DH and I are the normal babysitters for about half our friends so they'd be racing each other to see who could grab us first!!) But I'd rather be able to just see people without having to have a bubble.

Hate the idea of masks. Also think it would cause potential problems not just for asthmatics but possibly for people (particularly children?) with autism.

CrowCat · 28/04/2020 16:22

@GnomeDePlume I think I'd quite rock the tar and feathers look, and I've booked my place in hell for discussing trivialities like wine and dogging when people are dying.

X amount of people have died from C19 and it's sad, it's awful. But can I also add that suicide rates are up and deaths from domestic violence doubled in the first 3 weeks of lockdown. Not to mention child abuse and self harm.

Under his fucking eye.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 28/04/2020 16:22

Not British, getting ready for my sneer and cat call. Might make up a little song and dance too.Grin

I don't like the 10 people bubble... it emphasises how pathetic I am... I don't have 10 people to put in it.😂😂😂

OP posts:
Patte · 28/04/2020 16:30

Me to DH (sarcastically, discussing a breach of "The Roolz"): If you do that, a nurse will die.

DH to me: Hmm, what do I need to do to kill the Health Secretary?

I think he's getting fed up...

LilacTree1 · 28/04/2020 16:32

I don't have ten people to put in a bubble either

I imagine it's aimed at families

I'm ashamed to be British in that I didn't think it was okay to hide indoors for a virus.

LilacTree1 · 28/04/2020 16:33

Patte cross post

keep hoping when this is "over" he'll get the sack. But sadly that doesn't seem to be the way things are going.

Neither do I Banana! But I really want to see my adult DC again ...

I'm slacking on the murdering - I've got a day off today (Where shall I go, what shall I do? Oh, wait .... sofa it is then!). I've food shopped, bought some discounted Easter chocolate and lots of biscuits. And flowers to make my house look pretty. That's probably wiped out a few. And a pretty Bini Bijoux necklace I ordered in their half price sale arrived today. That's definitely murderous. But soooo gorgeous 😍

Blessed be the fruit. May the Lord open.

LilacTree1 · 28/04/2020 16:38

hex hex hex hex hex.

GnomeDePlume · 28/04/2020 16:39

We could add sneering and cat calls to the weekly clap or perhaps a round of curtain twitching.

LilacTree1 · 28/04/2020 16:41

Gnome I was going to put a sign in the window saying 1984 last week but wasn't brave enough.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 28/04/2020 16:45

You could do a sign with

COVID 19 and 84 in small font next to it. Ofc the downside could be that every one thinks you have it and they'll lynch you as soon as you step outside the door.

I have no family here(not that I particularly want to see most of then), the kid is only 8 so still at home and OH is mostly no contact with his. We're miserable fuckers.

However my best friend lives 2 hours away which means we only saw eachother once this year. Would I be able to extend the bubble that far?Grin

OP posts:
LilacTree1 · 28/04/2020 16:48

Princess if there's a distance limit on the bubble, I probably can't see anyone I need to see anyway.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 28/04/2020 16:51

I call dibs anyways 😬

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 28/04/2020 18:13

Meh, I dont have 10 people for a bubble either, its no big to me.
I can only think of 5 people outside my house I would really want to see anyway. Most of them are too far away so tough cheese.

Probably killed a few innocents today, met a friend in the supermarket (local small one) so we had a chat from a distance. Place was practically empty so not bothering anyone really but I am sure it still counts on the Stazi murder scale.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 28/04/2020 18:16

Tried to make cinnamon buns, many things went wrong .OH has been pointing out even more thing wrong. Fuck him ,they look a mess but taste delicious. More for me and DD then. Glad I didn't give up and binned it all.

Evening all

Felt really fed up today. Hormones. So I’ve just ordered myself a Chinese. Hopefully the bag they deliver it in has been properly bleached first of course Grin

CrowCat · 28/04/2020 18:38

Just hung out with my DS in the front garden from a safe distance for an hour of chat. That has made my spirits soar, done wonders for DD2 seeing her big brother, and just generally cheered us up no end SmileSmileSmile

If we're allowed 10 in a bubble that's fine, I'm really only interested in seeing DD1, DS, their partners and my grandson. That will be fine for us. DD2 will want to add her dad to that bubble which still only rounds is to 8 people including DD2 and me.

Destinysdaughter · 28/04/2020 18:51

I'm so bored today I want to run into the garden and SCREAM!!!

It's even too wet to do some rage gardening...

I've had 2 face to face ( socially distanced of course) conversations since lockdown began and I'm going slowly maddddddd ShockWineCakeGrin

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 28/04/2020 18:51

No murdering happening here. I'm a sunny weather killer. Can someone put some incontinence pads on the clouds? I might just as well be a frother with how well I'm behaving.

Although, I dod get a grand total of 4 packages today!!

Hello everyone.

Not caught up of the full thread since I was last on as you’ve all been busy. And I have been slacking.

I started a 30 day fitness thing today. It’s only 15 minutes but it still nearly killed me because I am so hideously unfit and fat. BUT, I didn’t actually die so this is better than most other exercise things I’ve tried.

I make the MOST phenomenal brownies I’ve ever made in my life yesterday. Which reminds me that I need to write down the recipe before I forget it. They are PERFECTION.

Aside from that I’ve been told today that despite what I was previously told and the paperwork I have completed I am now NOT being furloughed on Friday, but am instead being loaned out to another part of our company. Because you know, remote working is the ideal way to learn an entirely new business and job 🤦‍♀️

GnomeDePlume · 28/04/2020 20:11

This is my second day of not putting on shoes at all. I am WFH and very busy as my assistant got furloughed so now I do his work as well as my own. The sum total of my exercise is reaching to flick the kettle on. Perhaps I could call it a lunge!

Orangeblossom78 · 28/04/2020 20:12

Not just children with autism having trouble with masks, they aren't good for any small children due to breathing apparently, grim...don;t want a bubble imposed either...wish it would all just bugger off to be honest. why can't they just treat us like adults rather than some odd social experiment

I really don't miss the air kissing people used to do though. No more of that is a good thing. fake intimacy, I guess.
