I imagine Europe will open its borders sooner than most of MN thinks. Lots of Europeans routinely drive across borders to commute, go shopping etc. If Europe do it I can't see the UK not nudging into the party, we're still in the single market and need the business!

We may be the worst hit European country, it won't be possible to wipe out transmission entirely in the community, and our % may be worse than much of the world. From our perspective, if we open pubs/restaurants and allow social events I can't see what's gained by banning holidays (UK or otherwise) beyond ending the travel industry.

I think July.a

Juts as a point of info even under lockdown commuting is still allowed for certain categories of workers across quite a few European borders, ..crossing for shopping less so.

I think how quickly the UK>EU controls are relaxed will very much depend on how the situation develops in the UK as we head into the Summer..

We have been told in Germany that holidays will be spent at home. There will be no opening of borders for holidays.

I'm still hoping that we might go on our trip to Disneyland Paris in August

@wonderstuff, we’re booked for September. Fingers crossed!
