Last time we saw him I thought he looked very unwell. Younger and more boyish in a vulnerable way. I hope he is ok and wish him well. I suspect he is quite ill.

Kalifa · 05/04/2020 21:38

Poor BoJo, I kinda like him. Someone give him some brandy.

Doyoumind · 05/04/2020 21:39

I think 'as a precaution' is spin. He's been ill for a long time now. Not a fan of him or the Tories but I certainly wish him a speedy recovery.

1forsorrow · 05/04/2020 21:39

You’d desperately avoid hospital if you could. Yes, hence A&E empty in many places.

londonrach · 05/04/2020 21:39

Poor boris. I agree think they down playing it and hes very ill. Get well soon boris. This virus is nasty. Seen my husband struggle to breathe and now day 15 still has no hearing. That is if he had as no test yet. Despite what mn say i dont think boris has done too badly. Yes he should be testing more and we need ppe now. However the situation in 2-3 weeks has got worse very quick.

FascinatingCarrot · 05/04/2020 21:39

I hope he's ok

Bluntness100 · 05/04/2020 21:40

If they are admitting on a Sunday night and keeping him in, he’s not a well man. 😞

Triglesoffy · 05/04/2020 21:41

This is actually quite scary.

lyralalala · 05/04/2020 21:41

There's no way he's not very ill. The last place they want him is a hospital, and the last thing any hospital needs is the security faff that will come with having him there

BekindStayhome · 05/04/2020 21:41

'I was at a hospital where there were a few coronavirus patients and I shook hands with everybody' - Boris Johnson.
Idiot has knowingly put others at risk throughout this.
Hope he now realises how badly he screwed up in not taking it seriously, gets better and gets priorities straight so we can all get through.

cologne4711 · 05/04/2020 21:42

I’d imagine he would be admitted many many days before joeblogs. He didn’t look well when clapping for the NHS the other day. But then he has a deadly virus and was forced to work in the public eye at the highest level of office. So that can’t have helped with his recovery. I wish him well

All of this. What he probably needed was a week in bed with no hassles. And he didn't get that. Hopefully he will get the care he needs.

Delatron · 05/04/2020 21:42

Yes most routine tests would be able to be done at home for him.

I guess X-ray is needed, observation overnight?

Eireni · 05/04/2020 21:42

Sorry, coquovan, do you disagree with titchy and think Johnson did spend 2 hours waiting for 111 to call him back?

Yes the man’s ill but I think titchys comment was fair! I reckon he’s probably in a private hospital if there’s one with the right facilities available.

Kuponut · 05/04/2020 21:42

9pm on a Sunday night is not a nice precautionary jaunt in for tests. Thought he was probably worse than the released statements had been letting on.

SirVixofVixHall · 05/04/2020 21:42

He has looked unwell and has been trying to work. The responsibility and pressure on top of illness can’t have helped in recovery.
I hope he is home again soon.

BeetrootRocks · 05/04/2020 21:43

He's PM I think they would be much more cautious than with people who aren't PM.

Moomin8 · 05/04/2020 21:43

*I dislike the man, but the stress of his job isn’t going to be helping his health at all.

Stress, lack of sleep etc have a huge impact on our bodies*

Yes I very much agree.

I don't think day of admission means much as I very much doubt he's in an NHS hospital.

I suppose he's not really that young at 55 and isn't very physically fit. I also hope he gets better. His partner has it too doesn't she? And is pregnant. Very sad.

KatyMac · 05/04/2020 21:43

Wonder if he's gone private?

pocketem · 05/04/2020 21:43

He's in the risky group - male, older although still in 50s, overweight
Not looking good

Pat123dev · 05/04/2020 21:43

@ShootsFruitAndLeaves I think that, it’s really annoying!

I wish him a speedy recovery! It’s all quite shocking, hope people might take it seriously!

frumpety · 05/04/2020 21:44

I hope he recovers soon.

Can't help feeling Raab will now be the one lumbered with telling the nation any bad news for the next couple of days.

Also can't help feeling that the 'we will meet again' bit in the queens speech sounds more like a threat than a promise aimed at Boris Wink

2010Aussie · 05/04/2020 21:44

Eireni - Raab in charge? Could be worse - we might get Gove instead. Gove won't get the virus because it doesn't affect lizards.

daisychain01 · 05/04/2020 21:44

Now we'll get all the well wishers hoping he gets better, after spending the last week slagging him off. Talk about fickle!

Patch23042 · 05/04/2020 21:44

He likes the limelight, and being the statesman, and so I was surprised not to have seen him on tv much over the last ten days or so. I figured that he must have been really ill. I’m hoping for the best for him and for the baby.
