He’s in an nhs hospital. Was on the news

NeverTalksToStrangers · 05/04/2020 21:44

I was still getting temperatures on and off for 17 days... chest tightness and shortness of breath stopped around day 10 though.

He could be very unwell.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2020 21:44

I imagine he’s requiring a chest X-ray and/or oxygen. He must have shortness of breath.

Bluntness100 · 05/04/2020 21:44

He's PM I think they would be much more cautious than with people who aren't PM

As a pp said. Keeping him in overnight is a logistical nightmare. Due to security requirements, and people not being allowed near him for security reasons.

They will have admitted him because they had to.

ShootsFruitAndLeaves · 05/04/2020 21:44

Yes the man’s ill but I think titchys comment was fair! I reckon he’s probably in a private hospital if there’s one with the right facilities available.

He's in an NHS hospital as per reports

pocketem · 05/04/2020 21:45

Routine tests.

As PP have pointed out, you don't get admitted to hospital late on a Sunday night for routine tests

StrangerDays · 05/04/2020 21:45

I, too, think he's quite seriously ill, as others have said, he must be struggling to breathe to be admitted to hospital and they're trying to downplay how poorly he is. Starting to think about how awful it'd be if he doesn't beat the virus :(

Ilikefresias · 05/04/2020 21:45

Gove won't get the virus because it doesn't affect lizards.

This has made me laugh more than it should have done Smile

Devlesko · 05/04/2020 21:45

Do the NHS have enough beds for precautionary?
People are dying at home and not admitted as a precaution.
I certainly don't wish him any harm, though.

whattodo2019 · 05/04/2020 21:45

Praying that Boris gets better soon. His poor pg fiancée . Xx

RU562341 · 05/04/2020 21:45

You’d desperately avoid hospital if you could

He won't be going to the local district general. He'll be in a nice private clinic- which is fine, because it saves the NHS hospital the faff of dealing with the media and etc etc- not sitting waiting to be triaged with 20 others in an overcrowded and badly staffed A+E.

lannister · 05/04/2020 21:45

Maybe the Sunday night admission is because it is quieter and things can be done more swiftly?

Sammymommy · 05/04/2020 21:46

I am slightly worried they are just lying on the reason of his hospitalisation, just to keep things quiet. What kind of test could they possibly do?

He really looked like shit and is in the bad demography

ChipotleBlessing · 05/04/2020 21:46

He was well enough for a phone call with Keir Starmer yesterday, so unless he’s declined rapidly he probably isn’t as unwell as a normal member of the public would have to be for admission at the minute. But probably more unwell than they’re trying to suggest.

Cadfaelfan · 05/04/2020 21:46

I assume that because he's the Prime Minister they are erring on the side of caution.

FlamingoAndJohn · 05/04/2020 21:46

I don't know why people need to qualify their well wishes with 'I'm not a Tory'. It's not necessary.

It is. I wouldn’t want anyone thinking I’m a Tory.

Casino218 · 05/04/2020 21:47

That's so weird. This morning I said to my husband'I bet Boris is in hospital' and he is!

KittenVsBox · 05/04/2020 21:48

Anything about Whitty? He isolated with symptoms at a similar time, I think. Not seen or heard from him in a week.

lyralalala · 05/04/2020 21:48

He's in an NHS hospital they've said

This is the thing with a lot of the private hospitals - when it comes to crunch times and things being really bad they punt people back to the NHS

Plus going into a private hospital at this moment would be absolute career suicide for him

daisychain01 · 05/04/2020 21:48

And even while he's being carted off to hospital, saying it's all right for him going to a private hospital.

Jeez don't the haters ever give up.

fallfallfall · 05/04/2020 21:48

well he's no beaming example of fitness, his need for further testing is far from shocking really. he looked a hot mess a few days ago.

Bluntness100 · 05/04/2020 21:49

Maybe the Sunday night admission is because it is quieter and things can be done more swiftly?

Well normally, but there is a global pandemic in case you’d not heard? It’s not quieter any time of the week. Confused

Eireni · 05/04/2020 21:49

NHS is better at critical care than the private sector. Oh dear! It does sound worrying doesn’t it.

What happens if the worst happens? How long would Raab be acting PM for - there’s no precedent for losing a PM in office in modern times. Is there a protocol actually laid out somewhere or do we just make it up as we go along?!?

Peapod29 · 05/04/2020 21:49

I’m not surprised. Most people who have a mild dose are recovered in 7 days are they not? He seemed to still be quite poorly. I do hope he recovers speedily. How awfully worrying for his poor girlfriend too.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2020 21:49

Raab is the designated survivor so he will be in charge for as long as he’s needed.
