I bet he didn't spend 2 hours in a queue to 111..... on a separate note - OMG RAAB 😱

esjee · 05/04/2020 21:32

@Looneytune253 sorry is your dh running the country too? I hope Boris gets well, wouldn't wish ill health on anyone.

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/04/2020 21:32

Everything crossed he makes a full recovery. If he pulls through he will have massive respect for the NHS and I can only see that as a good thing going forward.

jimmyhill · 05/04/2020 21:33

I didn't realise that a prolonged fever = hospital admission

It doesn't. He'll have been struggling to breathe.

Bluntness100 · 05/04/2020 21:33

I don’t think he would be admitted for no good reason on a Sunday evening and because they are a cautious bunch. I suspect he’s taken a turn for the worse sadl and they don’t want to publicly state it.

Curious78 · 05/04/2020 21:33

Awful, I really hope he feels better quickly

LuluJakey1 · 05/04/2020 21:33

Why would you admit him at 9pm on a Sunday night? Just sounds as if it is being downplayed to me. He looked poorly the other day. Hope he feels better soon.

Vaginandtonic · 05/04/2020 21:34

If he pulls through he will have massive respect for the NHS

I doubt that...

ShootsFruitAndLeaves · 05/04/2020 21:34

Awful news, hope he recovers but the survival rates for those hospitalised in the UK are pretty awful.

Isn't it something like 90% dead and 10% recovered?

No

www.icnarc.org/DataServices/Attachments/Download/76a7364b-4b76-ea11-9124-00505601089b

50/50 for those who received critical care.

84% survival for those receiving basic respiratory support, 33% survival for those receiving advanced respiratory support.

If he's just there for 'tests', then he won't fall into those stats at all.

chomalungma · 05/04/2020 21:34

Hope he gets better.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2020 21:34

Yep. No way would anyone go to hospital these days just for a raised temp. You’d desperately avoid hospital if you could. Hope he’s ok.

RU562341 · 05/04/2020 21:34

I'm far from a Boris fan, but wish him will and hope his stay will be short.

EthelMayFergus · 05/04/2020 21:35

Wishing him a quick and full recovery, poor guy.

Applejaxx · 05/04/2020 21:35

I think he's looked dreadful that last few times he's been seen.

Gingerkittykat · 05/04/2020 21:35

I also suspect it is more serious than admitting him for tests, it does sound like an emergency admission.

Coquohvan · 05/04/2020 21:35

@titchy
Really pathetic when someone’s ill. Low blow. 👎

StitchInLime · 05/04/2020 21:35

"As a precaution". I really hope it's not more serious that that.

vera99 · 05/04/2020 21:36

Tests is code for "he's actually quite fucking ill"

MigginsMrs · 05/04/2020 21:36

Oh dear, I am not a fan but I hope he’s OK

JustOneSquareofDarkChocolate · 05/04/2020 21:36

What kind of tests would he need at a hospital? Bloods can be taken by dr at his residence as can oxygen saturation.
Wonder if it’s lung X-ray. Anyone know?

Bool · 05/04/2020 21:37

If he has had a fever for 10 days they may take him in. My DH has Covid last week and had a temperature for nearly 14 days. They put him on antibiotics in case a secondary infection and took him to hospital to check him out and then sent him home again.

FelicityJaneGrace · 05/04/2020 21:37

The thing is, he had some kind of pneumonia type thing when he was younger and so is at risk. He presumably hasn't rested as many of us would have been able to and I imagine hospital is the best place for him.

sweetkitty · 05/04/2020 21:37

According to my Dad he doesn’t have Covid-19, he’s had a breakdown with the stress and us depressed and anxious!

Because my Dad knows these things like there’s 400,000 people dead in China ConfusedHmm

1forsorrow · 05/04/2020 21:37

But then he has a deadly virus and was forced to work in the public eye at the highest level of office. Who forced him? He could hand over to someone else, arguably he should have. Not really great to have someone with a fever making decisions. He still won't hand it over.

JustOneSquareofDarkChocolate · 05/04/2020 21:37

@vera99 oh I see, I’m taking it too literally!
