No almost certainly not and I'm not one of the we're all doomed types who seem to hang around here.

Pipandmum · 04/04/2020 20:17

Nope. Maybe by end of May if infection and death rates decrease. And only partially.

TowerRingInferno · 04/04/2020 20:18

No chance. Much more likely that further restrictions will come.

winterinmadeira · 04/04/2020 20:30

No, if we follow China’s time line then we are looking at the end of May at the earliest or the start of June.

TestBank · 04/04/2020 20:42

Nah, by then China's rising infection rate after lockdown lifted will have been noticed. Lockdown isn't going to make this all go away.

RU562341 · 04/04/2020 20:46

Not a chance, sadly.
It won't be for at least 3-4 weeks after the peak, whenever that may be.

Dream on.

Cherrysherbet · 04/04/2020 21:01

Ffs no

Stuckforthefourthtime · 04/04/2020 21:01

End of May, based on other countries and the guy from Imperial college.

StrawberryBlondeStar · 04/04/2020 21:02

No. I think it will be 9/10 weeks and then they’ll have to decide what restrictions they lift first.

There’s talk of people being allowed out with “immunity certificates”, but I don’t see how that would work in practice. If people saw other people out they would want to go out as well. I wonder though if business will be allowed to reopen/allow people back in offices with these certificates.

amysaurus87 · 04/04/2020 21:14

Hahahahaha.....no

My best guess would be some point in May.

Egghead68 · 04/04/2020 21:18

No

Wehttam · 04/04/2020 21:22

This may roll on well in to the summer OP, we may get a slight release and then I’m sure locked down again for the autumn when the second wave is thought to come.

A vaccine would be a godsend.

TheRealHousewife · 04/04/2020 21:23

For some reason @spinthebottle your title post gives me the rage.

In spite of all the Government announcements and headline news about the global pandemic people ask the most stupid of questions. I question if some people realise the seriousness of it all.

You are not stuck indoors, you’re keeping safe, saving lives and assisting in the management of Covid-19.

Phifedean123 · 04/04/2020 21:27

Nah, no and nope

Jenasaurus · 04/04/2020 21:27

One floor of our office has been reorganised to allow the key workers on the other floor to social distance, we have been told this will be for many months and then another 6 weeks to put it back to how it was before we can go back to work in the office again. So from that I would say it is going to be months and not weeks.

Chloemol · 04/04/2020 21:32

Nope, we haven’t hit peak yet, whilst London is ahead of everywhere it’s not at peak. It’s will be a further three weeks, then review again

ManchesterChidless · 04/04/2020 21:51

What is lockdown, like I don’t understand.

spinthebottle · 04/04/2020 21:53

@TheRealHousewife I’m sorry that it gives you the rage but I didn’t ask only this forum the question when we had this discussion (I believe lockdown will be extended). But the resounding answer from a lot of people (not this thread) is lockdown is they think that it’s due to end after the 3 weeks is up. Unfortunately, I worry what that will mean when it is undoubtedly extended but I think a lot of people think it’s going to end after these 3 weeks. Sadly.

No

Pulpfiction1 · 04/04/2020 21:56

NHS friend told me the lock down will be 12 week - less if the gov can get the antibody tests sorted which based on our gov is not likely.
