No, ffs, does he live in the moon?

Mumto1girl3boys · 04/04/2020 19:15

Not a chance. What in the world would make you think that would even be a consideration?

Op didnt....her dh did

Kazzyhoward · 04/04/2020 19:15

More chance of martians landing. There's not a hope in hell's chance of this only lasting another week. Far more likely it's going to be stricter with more guidelines on what isn't acceptable backed up with stricter policing.

TreeTopTim · 04/04/2020 19:15

From what I have seen since the lockdown began we need a stricter lockdown. People are just not sticking to the rules. They need to remember that the rules are not in place to inconvenience you they are there to help save people's lives.

AnyFucker · 04/04/2020 19:16

Nerp

ilovesooty · 04/04/2020 19:17

Not a chance.

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 04/04/2020 19:18

I think it will end in June or July, then we'll have another one of a month in October/Novish.

Smellbellina · 04/04/2020 19:19

No, but it's all I am giving it

What do you mean? Hmm

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/04/2020 19:20

😂😂 wishful thinking...

HoffiCoffi13 · 04/04/2020 19:22

It has never been said by anyone that it will end next week. They said the current measures will be reviewed after three weeks.
Spain have just extended their lock down to the 26th April and they’re a couple of weeks ahead of us on their curve. That suggests it is likely to be mid/end or may for us. I certainly am not relishing the prospect, but can’t see an alternative.

Doingmybest4u · 04/04/2020 19:25

I don’t get it how it could possibly be eased in the next few months. We haven’t got a clue how many UK citizens have had it / have it now (maybe 2/3 million)? Even as deaths start to fall, unless we have totally eradicated it and keep borders closed, surely it will just resurge as aggressively in the remaining population If things are eased, resulting in huge pressure on the NHS and loads of deaths again! I’m not trying to be clever (I have no idea about the spread of viruses and the different strategies) but common sense would say that unless we have totally eliminated it or locked down / traced those remaining who have it, then it will just keep rolling.
Maybe that’s the plan still (herd immunity) in which case this will rumble for a long long time as surges in deaths keep coming.

HoffiCoffi13 · 04/04/2020 19:28

Doingmybest4u it is impossible to totally eliminate it, and that isn’t the plan. It can’t happen. The measures are in place to ease the pressure on the NHS.
Yes, when restrictions are lifted there will be another surge in cases. This is expected. The plan is to manage these surges to a level that the NHS can cope with, until a vaccine (or effective treatment) is developed. Restrictions will be lifted at the right time to ensure that the NHS is well placed to deal with the subsequent surges.

3rdNamechange · 04/04/2020 19:31

Absolutely not. Needs to be at least till the end of April.

dementedma · 04/04/2020 19:33

No. Not until after the peak - several weeks away yet

Eskarina1 · 04/04/2020 19:34

I don't get the comments about people ending lockdown because they'll only put up with 3 weeks regardless of what the government says. If people start ignoring it, going out and about regardless, the Government isn't going to say 'sorry we bothered you, carry on'. The NHS can't cope if we have an uncontrolled peak and the Government can't look weak so the rules will be enforced. I'm really hoping people can behave like grown ups so the end of May stays realistic.

Wannabangbang · 04/04/2020 19:35

Nope i reckon September

bellinisurge · 04/04/2020 19:35

No. Why would it?

Duchessofblandings · 04/04/2020 19:36

No and looking at the idiots watching the busker on another thread, it will be tightened. Enjoy exercising will you can. Thanks for that, idiots.

TheCanterburyWhales · 04/04/2020 19:36

Has he always been a bit, erm, optimistic about things?

Mind you, there's a poster who is launching a petition to tell the virus to do one on another thread so anything is possible really.

Travelban · 04/04/2020 19:37

Italy is just about to extend theirs too and they are 4 weeks ahead... I think it will be June when we will start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Redcrayons · 04/04/2020 19:37

No, at least till end of April.

I’m expecting the restrictions on exercise to increase to no more than 2km away from your home as Ireland did.

myfav · 04/04/2020 19:42

No chance, I'm expecting this level of lockdown for the whole of April at least.

Ruddle91 · 04/04/2020 19:45

Pigs will fly ...

Smithy01 · 04/04/2020 19:52

I wouldn’t expect anything less than another 3 weeks and then reviewed again. But no one actually knows, it’s not an exact science. But I think many people have missed the main reason for the government lockdown is to save the NHS, people will still get this virus and die until a vaccine is found. (Hard to say and I’m worried but it’s fact) The government have a balancing act between saving lives now and the economy and quality of life after this. At some point the balance will tip where lockdown will do more harm than good in the governments opinion. I can’t see it going on for 6 months etc but I could be wrong.

TheCanterburyWhales · 04/04/2020 20:05

Italy's has been extended until 13/4 but will undoubtedly go on till mid-,May at least.
