OP posts:
gingerbreadslice · 05/04/2020 13:53

Does anyone know when the next announcement thing is regarding this?

Muminabun · 05/04/2020 13:58

I think it will be extended by another two weeks From next Sunday and the restrictions will start to be lifted but social distancing and rules about gatherings will probably remain in place for longer and vulnerable groups will probably have to stay in social isolation for the full 12 weeks. The reason being that with increased testing if those that have had it and have antibodies will be freed up more and the effects on the economy are unsustainable in that the cure will get worse that the
disease. I think schools will be back in some increased capacity from 1st June.

Mirada · 05/04/2020 13:59

Depends how the public behave today, - if badly, listen up at the press conference tomorrow.

unchienandalusia · 05/04/2020 13:59

Next week is the peak ffs.

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 05/04/2020 14:12

@unchienandalusia no one knows that for certain.

mrpheasant · 05/04/2020 14:41

Nope

lubeybooby · 05/04/2020 14:42

Nope, if anything tightened further. and rightly so

TheStarryNight · 05/04/2020 14:46

No.
Slim chance it might be relaxed sometime in May if people concerned about economy get their way.
End of May is conceivable but unlikely.
12 weeks in total is starting to be realistic.
Longer than that more likely than sooner IYSWIM.

And it’ll just be relaxed, not lifted. To be imposed again as soon as figures start to climb.

RosesandIris · 05/04/2020 14:46

no way

Tigger001 · 05/04/2020 14:57

Absolutely not, we have not even reached our predicted peak point yet.

I think it will extend and get stricter.

Tigger001 · 05/04/2020 14:59

When it does end it will be slow release of people to certain venues IMO, so we will stay in some form if lockdown for a while I think.

trenchy24 · 05/04/2020 17:20

Absolutely no chance.

Lookabee · 05/04/2020 17:24

Perhaps it might be helpful if your husband watches the news. He obviously hasn't a clue.

Kayagh · 05/04/2020 17:27

Not an effing chance end of May for sure at the least

cherish123 · 05/04/2020 17:28

I am assuming you boyfriend/girlfriend never watches or listens to the news.

sniggy01 · 05/04/2020 17:30

My recent understanding is that schools are very unlikely to return to any form of ' normal ' running until January 2021 with the possibility of the school year being started then instead of September

BuntyCollocks · 05/04/2020 17:31

😂 no

Tessabelle74 · 05/04/2020 17:34

More chance of unicorns running down The Mall

HoffiCoffi13 · 05/04/2020 17:37

From where, sniggy01? Do you have information that the government doesn’t currently have?

Frazzledstar1 · 05/04/2020 17:42

No unfortunately not! 😭

Oscarsdaddy · 05/04/2020 17:42

Your DP must be living in cloud cuckoo land

MarieG10 · 05/04/2020 17:42

June at the earliest. The government are just not prepared to tell the truth in this as they know it will be dynamite but there is no chance of less

And what they don't have no one else does either) is any exit strategy when it does as the virus will gradually take off again. In the end there is no alternative to herd immunity unless a vaccine is developed but that is 18 months

Rosebel · 05/04/2020 17:43

No because people aren't listening. Just look at the threads on here about the silly things people are still doing. Government should have been stricter from the start but I'm dreading them banning exercise.

amymel2016 · 05/04/2020 17:45

Nope, if anything it will get tighter and they’ll ban outside exercise. I think it will start lifting in June, assuming we have the figures to show it’s worked

Pensionista · 05/04/2020 17:45

NO its going to get worse.
