Is there any point anymore?

OP posts:
TheHumanSatsuma · 03/04/2020 07:47

Yes.
I have been severely depressed in the past and know how important it is for me to keep to a routine.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 03/04/2020 07:47

Yep, always shower and get dressed in the morning otherwise I feel skanky. I'm not bothering with make-up though and only wearing casual clothes as I'm doing a lot of DIY etc in between work stuff.

Sicktiredanddown · 03/04/2020 07:49

Yes, I shower and wash my hair every day. I put some make up on and some clean comfy clothes - leggings and a jumper.

I would feel totally unmotivated and miserable if I didn’t.

Notverybright · 03/04/2020 07:51

Yes, it's definitely better for my mental health.

LoadsaBlusher · 03/04/2020 07:53

Yes I still get up , showered , dressed and bit of make up everyday.

Just makes me feel better and more organised and ready to face the day.

I go out every day a walk with the 3 DC so might as well be up and ready for that.

TheGreatWave · 03/04/2020 07:54

Yes, I never not get dressed, however I have started to wear pj bottoms as I am finding jeans uncomfortable especially as I am sat on the sofa all day. (Whilst working)

okiedokieme · 03/04/2020 07:55

Yes but I don't wear clothes at night and don't have net curtains!

No make up though

NewYearNewTwatName · 03/04/2020 07:56

Yes, definitely, always. I've had problems with depression and anxiety in the past and not getting up and dressed is linked for me with feeling worse

^this is true for me too.

I wake up naturally at 5am ish, enjoy staying in bed and not rushing. then get up 5.45 get dressed have a coffee catch up on the news channels. 6.30am go out to walk the dog and turn my horse out.

Get home change clothes, then potter about.

I haven't worn a bra since lock down started, I wasn't a big bra wearer anyway, mainly wore them for going to work.

Elliebobtail · 03/04/2020 07:57

Yes, I feel much better once I do

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 03/04/2020 07:58

yup - helps me get into work mode. I also have the occasional video call.

shower, bit of makeup (concealer, blusher, mascara), decent top. Plus I went in to cover on call yesterday, so today I still have the benefits of yesterday's proper blow-dry. My concession to WFH is jeans and trainers for the bottom half.

x

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 03/04/2020 07:58

urgh, rogue x. I'm obviously not kissing in the current clime.

FannyCann · 03/04/2020 08:00

Driving home from work (nhs) yesterday pm DD and I were amused to see social distancing in action. A woman in her dressing gown stood on her doorstep having a fag with a fully dressed mate stood a couple of feet away.

Runmybathforme · 03/04/2020 08:01

Definitely. , comfortable clothes, leggings etc, but full make up every day, hair done. Need that difference between day and evening . Besides, I’d never slob around in front of my DH.

theemmadilemma · 03/04/2020 08:03

Yes but I wfh anyway, so it's my part of my routine to still get showered, dressed, and a touch of makeup before I start my working day.

I didn't for the first few months, and after a while it's shit and you need to have a routine and definition of working day.

pumpkinpie01 · 03/04/2020 08:03

Yep, every day would feel slobby and unmotivated if I didn't. Tiny bit of make up too.

BarkandCheese · 03/04/2020 08:03

Yes, shower every morning and get dressed, just jumper and leggings most days and no make up, although I only wore makeup if I was working or going out before. I hate wearing pyjamas in the day, it reminds me of being ill and makes me fell blurgh and right now I certainly don’t need that.

Rewy · 03/04/2020 08:03

Yes absolutely.
Workout in the morning then showered , dressed and make up.
Out for walk in the afternoon.
It’s important to try and have some sort of routine.

quertyuiop100 · 03/04/2020 08:03

Yes, but some days I bother with make up, other days I can't be arsed. Don't want to look too awful on a conference call!

itgetsthehoseagain · 03/04/2020 08:04

I get showered, and then right back into whatever clothes I was wearing - which now get washed more frequently!

IggyAce · 03/04/2020 08:08

Yes I have a shower and get dressed each day, don’t bother with makeup and a couple of times this week I’ve left my hair to dry naturally.

Livpool · 03/04/2020 08:09

I am - although WFH so it helps me feel a bit more productive and less like I am sitting at my kitchen table.

Saying that I am getting my shower and getting dressed on my lunch break

BasinHaircut · 03/04/2020 08:18

Last week I got up, coffee, v quick shower and dressed into gym stuff or tracksuit bottoms every morning, then went for a walk to sort of simulate going to work. I thought it would be very important to keep a routine in that respect, especially as we are WFH and I do find myself less productive if I am still in pjs with un-brushed teeth etc.

That worked really well and this week I will admit I’ve let things slide. I have been sleeping in, rolling out of bed and switching on the laptop. It’s definitely having an effect on my productivity and energy levels in general.

From Monday I am going back to pretending I need to up and getting somewhere.

Asuitablecat · 03/04/2020 08:35

Gym clothes everyday cos I'm doing 15mins hiit before lunch and then a run each night. I'm slightly horrified at how quickly I've given.up, but sitting by a laptop all day calls for comfort. I look rough af without makeup, but what's the point in putting it on, just to sit round the house?

CuckooCuckooClock · 03/04/2020 08:41

I’m only doing for the dc. I’ve learnt from experience that they need a routine or it descends into chaos. If it were just me there’s no way I’d bother!

champagneplanet · 03/04/2020 08:43

I get washed and dressed as soon as I get up otherwise i'd still be in my dressing gown at lunchtime. Not wearing anything fancy mind, gym gear if i'm going for a run or do Joe Wicks PE with the DCs or just comfy clothes. I've put on a tiny bit of mascara and bronzer on the days i've looked at bit ropey Grin or been venturing out for a walk. That's it really.
