Is everybody still getting dressed daily?

Is there any point anymore?

OP posts:
expatinspain · 03/04/2020 18:52

The real question is are those who usually wear make up still wearing it?? 😁 I normally wear a bit every day, apart from in summer as it’s too hot here, but I’ve given up wearing it completely at the moment!

Oblomov20 · 03/04/2020 19:06

Really?
I had no fucking idea that you lot weren't! That this was the norm!
I am. More fool me.

Coulddowithanap · 03/04/2020 19:08

We are getting dressed, might be wearing more comfy clothing, more leggings than skinny jeans!

soberfabulous · 03/04/2020 19:21

I've totally kept my old routine: getting dressed wearing make up and doing hair.

I work a 12 hour days and around 8 hours of that is video calls. It makes a huge difference to me in terms of my mental outlook and professionalism.

The one good thing about this is no commute so I do get a little longer in bed each morning. And I'm always home for bedtime Smile

steppemum · 03/04/2020 19:28

yes always.
I just don't get it that people want to stay in pjs all day.
I like to have knickers on (don't wear them at night).
I like wearing a bra, its more comfortable
I have comfortable clothes
I go out for a walk everyday so need to be dressed.
I like to have socks and slippers on for warmth and comfort.

What threads like this tell me is that most people need to buy more suitable clothes.

mamaduckbone · 03/04/2020 19:30

God yes - I couldn't cope otherwise.
I have been showering at odd times of day though...like 12 today as I got dressed for Joe Wicks ( not in a Spider-Man costume I hasten to add) then did a couple of hours work then felt grubby and cold so had a hot shower before lunch. Definitely not washing my hair every day which I would normally.

OnTheMoors · 03/04/2020 19:47

Yes of course . Why would you want to stay in pyjamas ,uuuggghhhh

GreyGardens88 · 03/04/2020 19:48

Just in jogging shorts and a tatty t shirt

SoftBlocks · 03/04/2020 19:55

I’ve stopped wearing makeup. I got paranoid that my mascara has got mutating virus in it and threw it out.

I can’t not shower and get dressed though.

GreenWheat · 03/04/2020 19:59

Yes, I get dressed in proper clothes every day, otherwise I worry things would go rapidly downhill!

RedRum27 · 03/04/2020 20:25

Yep, but wearing comfy house clothes like leggings or joggers and a jumper. Showering when I get up to just to keep some routine. But today has been mopey day and did think as I was showering ‘ffs’ lol. When doing a virtual pub quiz I’m putting a bra on and doing my eyebrows haha.

thequeenbeyondthewall · 03/04/2020 20:30

I'm doing my eyebrows but no other make up and they are just powder over my own and takes two mins.

Usually I wear strip lashes but I haven't bothered.

mbosnz · 03/04/2020 20:32

Yep, including bra. The time at which the boobs of hell are released is getting earlier most days, however. . .

PhoneLock · 03/04/2020 20:35

What is loungewear? Confused

Dontsayyouloveme · 03/04/2020 20:38

Wfh so pj’s until midday, quick change into jeans and hoody ready for brisk walk at lunchtime, change into leggings and T-shirt upon return, shower and new pj’s in evening!

No bra of any description being worn to date. When it’s gets warmer s’pose I’ll have to wear one for going out at lunch 😕

Wish I didn’t have to get dressed at all tbh.

Ginfordinner · 03/04/2020 20:40

Why Don'tsay?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/04/2020 20:43

I’ve been working from home for a couple of weeks now - I’m a lecturer so loads of video stuff. My routine has been to get up with the cat at 6.30, which is my usual getting up for work time, and she gives no fucks about WFH, feeding her, then going back to bed until 8.30. Then I check emails, shower, dress, hair, makeup.

I’m wearing nice clothes, but the sort of stuff I wear at weekends rather than my work clothes. Today I put on a nice dress for #dressupfriday. We’re now on Easter holidays, and I suspect next week will be more of a lie-in, then maybe an afternoon bath and loungewear.

Agree with pp about it being good for mental health to make an effort.

PhoneLock · 03/04/2020 20:50

I'm a uni lecturer. We have been in the Easter vacation for three weeks now and I'm busier now than during term time. There is no let up.

ofwarren · 03/04/2020 20:56

Same as @notangelinajolie
I've been ill with suspected CV for 11 days and not been dressed at all.
I managed to have a bath and wash my hair today though.

Chickenwing · 03/04/2020 20:59

Hell no, 24/7 pyjamas is the best part of this whole pandemic. My work sometimes do video chats and everyone in my team is in PJs or a dressing gown. Im using this situation to train my hair to not need washed so often and free my face of makeup Smile

Bunionbandit · 03/04/2020 20:59

No bra a common theme on here, must admit I’m going braless too, it’s brill 😃 haven’t washed my hair for a week too. Working from home but all my meetings are doing done on conference call, joined a high number of ‘go to meeting’ seminars in last two weeks in which you can choose to turn off the camera which majority of participants choose to do. Wearing only moisturiser on my face 😃 it’s kinda liberating. I did have a minor panic when it was suggested we do a Zoom meeting for work this week 😬 but we couldn’t make that work thank god, my roots need doing too 😂

Dontsayyouloveme · 03/04/2020 21:02

Ginfordinner

Why what?

thequeenbeyondthewall · 03/04/2020 21:03

@phonelock

Asda have some nice bits, they have a lounge wear section. Depends on your budget.

It's like posh Jamas for the day I think. Half jama half day wear. That's how I would explain it.

You'd get away popping the corner shop but not really the big shop.
