Is everybody still getting dressed daily?

Is there any point anymore?

I've always said I'd happily exist just in my PJs so I'm living the dream until the novelty wears off! No one at work really cares what I'm wearing so long as my little icons show I'm logged in and present. After today I'm on annual leave until after the Easter bank hols though so I will be making more of an effort - living room workout once I'm awake enough to see, outside for a walk partway through the day, that sort of thing.

WanderingMilly · 03/04/2020 08:50

Yes, proper routine, washed, up, dressed as normal. I hate feeling unwashed and undressed anyway. But not putting "work" style make-up on, can't see the point of that, and I expect my skin is happier for that too....

JiltedJohnsJulie · 03/04/2020 08:52

Yes but this week I e started wearing Yoga pants, I’m not sure you can really differentiate them from PJs can you? Smile

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2020 08:54

I have to get dressed it stops me from being being face down on the sofa all day, I can't sit about in PJ's.

Zisforstripyoss · 03/04/2020 08:55

Oh yes, I hate slopping round in pyjamas! Plus we need to get dressed to go outside with the DC etc.

SistemaAddict · 03/04/2020 09:09

I change from night pjs into clean ones after a shower. I've not worn make up for nearly 3 weeks or dried my hair. It gets washed and bundled into a messy up do. The children get dressed if they are playing in the garden. Anything to cut down on my washing is a bonus.

DonnaDarko · 03/04/2020 09:14

I've been working from home for a year. Just been furloughed but I have always made sure I got up and got dressed. It puts me in the right mindset for the day.

I'm at home with DS and we're both getting dressed every morning, even if it's just lounge wear and hoodies.

JudyCoolibar · 03/04/2020 09:16

Yes, mostly because I need a few layers to save on heating. But the bra has been off since lockdown started.

Realitea · 03/04/2020 09:19

I’ve been getting up slightly later but still showering, doing hair and nails and getting dressed in ‘nice’ clothes and doing make up.
I’d feel really quite depressed if I didn’t.

Notso · 03/04/2020 09:23

Yes, I think it's good for mental health.

Comps83 · 03/04/2020 09:23

Yes. Shower and house clothes everyday . I feel icky otherwise . Though sometimes when I've washed my hair I'm forgetting to brush it and by the time it dries I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards

catsandlavender · 03/04/2020 09:27

Yep, but only into nice leggings/joggers/sweatshirt. I try to make it a nice combination though and wear different ones every day. I couldn’t wear pyjamas all day and all night, I’m so funny about my clothes feeling fresh.

LittleCandle · 03/04/2020 10:16

Yes, but wearing a soft bra. I only stay in my pjs all day if I am really ill. I prefer getting dressed. Also showering and washing my hair every day, as that makes me feel human, but not bothering to put any make up on.

Hobbitbobbit · 03/04/2020 10:19

Some days yes, most days no. I shower either way and put on fresh PJ's or loungey stuff.

Yellowandgreen · 03/04/2020 10:21

I try and make it a daily goal to get dressed. Some days I achieve that goal and some days I don’t

TokyoSushi · 03/04/2020 10:22

Yes up, showered, dressed and make up, it would make me feel miserable if I didn't!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 03/04/2020 10:27

Yes, not bothering with hair or makeup though.

PogoBob · 03/04/2020 10:29

Nope, working from home and logged on early this morning to quickly finish something off (whilst still in bed in only t-shirt and pants), promptly had a colleague Skype me for a catch up.

Thankfully had laptop positioned so they could only see the top of my shoulders and the wall behind me so my state of dress and bed were not obvious.

catscatscatseverywhere · 03/04/2020 10:34

Nope. I wear my sweatpants. But makeup done everyday. I wash my hair every day. Still shaving my legs, doing facials, gel manicure. I want to be ready once it’s over and we are free 😂

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/04/2020 10:35

Shower and hair wash daily , dress in jumper and M & S jeans
I put make up on to go to Tesco on Monday, as it was a treat to leave the house
Shoes will be a problem when I go back to real life , as I’m either in slippers , wellies or walking boots

Ragwort · 03/04/2020 10:43

Yes but ‘gym clothes’ in the morning when I do fitness workouts, then just casual for the rest of the day ... but I am a very casual dresser anyway. I am on furlough but have a sort of routine that I like to follow to avoid just lazing around in a unmotivated state!

hibeat · 03/04/2020 10:48

yup

SimonJT · 03/04/2020 10:50

I’ve worn nothing but pants in the flat (well, apart a shirt and tie I wore in a conference call). My boyfriend said yesterday “Don’t feel like you have to just wear pants to look good in front of me” ha, this isn’t about looking good, this is pure laziness.

I have 9 days of pants left, this lack of laundry is a dream.

Iknewyouwerewaitingforme · 03/04/2020 10:52

I am usually slobbing around in trackie bums/leggings when at home but now I'm here constantly I have more of a drive to get dressed in "smarter" clothes. I find putting jeans/a nicer top on the days I WFH gets me in a much better frame of mind. Let my hair dry naturally to help the split ends but still putting light makeup/perfume on too. Totally perks me up.

NeutralJanet · 03/04/2020 10:52

I'm still showering every day and getting dressed, I'm trying to motivate myself to take DD out for a walk in the fresh air most days while the weather holds out and if I didn't get dressed first thing I probably wouldn't be bothered to do it later on. My make up box and hair straighteners haven't seen the light of day for weeks though.
