Is there any point anymore?

OP posts:

I have been wearing my 'in the house clothes' which are leggings/joggers and T-shirt's which I would never wear outside due to being fat! I have never been able to wear clothes on the house, I take them off the minute I walk in the door. I am not working from home though. I'm just home.

cricketmum84 · 03/04/2020 07:17

It depends on my mood. On a positive day I'll put on a dress and leggings and some makeup. On a not so positive day I'm happy to stay in loungewear.

Although found out yesterday that our top boss has decreed we all must have webcams on for every Skype meeting so it's gonna have to be makeup every day unless I fancy scaring them all!

OhTheRoses · 03/04/2020 07:17

Yes. WFH and it's regular con calls. At desk by 8.30. Keeping routine of work clothes, hair and make-up and I need my shoes on to feel professional!

dudsville · 03/04/2020 07:17

If i wasn't wfh i would get up, shower, and put on fresh pjs. As i am wfh I'm doing minimal hair and my most comfortable smart clothes, like baggy trousers and loose jumpers.

RobynSH · 03/04/2020 07:18

Yes. It's my #1 rule.

I mean we're wearing comfy stuff that we would never wear out. But up, washed and dressed is something I need to do to feel better in a day. And definitely helps DC attitude.

joystir59 · 03/04/2020 07:18

Yes, to go out with the dog, then changed into uniform.to go to work, then a shower including hair when I get home.e and work.clothes put to air and fresh clothes put on. Then another change when I go to bed

WatchingFromTheWings · 03/04/2020 07:18

Nope. Gym gear for PE with joe each morning, then shower and clean pjs on after a quick run! I properly dressed 3 times in 2 weeks.

9millioncansofbeans · 03/04/2020 07:19

I’m working from home but so far not bad to start using video conferencing so I’m wearing no make up and only showering/washing hair twice a week.
I’m moisturise daily and I do get “dressed” - leggings and t shirt with slippers.

My skin looks amazing. And my hair is getting less greasy already.

I am definitely going to stop wearing Make up to go to work when this is over

Bluesheep8 · 03/04/2020 07:23

I'm trying to. I'm WFH and have to be logged on by 8am so shower and dress in leggings and a sweatshirt. No make up for 2 weeks though.

rottiemum88 · 03/04/2020 07:24

I'm still up, showered and dressed as normal on work days. More casual than I'd dress for a day in the office, but not exactly loungewear either. Also keeping to my usual hair and make up routine, which is fairly minimal but necessary to make me feel "put together". I actually think it'd be a lot harder to get into the right frame of mind for a day WFH if I didn't do all of the above

EffervescentElephant · 03/04/2020 07:24

I wfh and have conference meeting every morning so definitely get up and get dressed. I can dress more informally though, black top and black yoga pants and trainers! I keep a routine with lunch break/breaks like at work and gave my exercise walk in a quiet place in the evening to mark the end of the working day. Like other pp I have a history of depression and I need a structure and some outside time to keep well. I gave managed so far and I am in good spirit.

Ginfordinner · 03/04/2020 07:25

Yes. I feel unmotivated and lazy if I don't. I don't own any pyjamas, and wear a nightie in bed instead. I don't wear make up in the house as I don't see the point.

EffervescentElephant · 03/04/2020 07:26

Ah yes make-up and hair absolutely! But that's for me and noone else because I love it.

EffervescentElephant · 03/04/2020 07:27

Sorry @ginfordinner, cross post and not a dig at you of course. Horses for courses and all that.

Wakeupsunshine · 03/04/2020 07:30

Yes definitely. I feel grotty and lazy if I don’t. I have left washing my hair for an extra day but that makes me feel awful as well.

Karmatime · 03/04/2020 07:31

I get dressed but it’s comfy loungewear everyday, minimal makeup to avoid scaring colleagues on video conference. I’ve inadvertently discovered the curly girl hair thing as I haven’t blow dried for over 2 weeks. I suspect that my baggy yoga pants and joggers will be all I’ll be able to fit into soon anyway.

CodenameVillanelle · 03/04/2020 07:33

Yes. Wearing leggings and a hoodie though rather than work clothes but I need to get dressed.
No makeup and washing hair less often - also not actually brushing hair between washes just putting up in a bun.
My skin looks great. I hadn't realised how much my foundation was choking it.

Mummyoflittledragon · 03/04/2020 07:33

Casino
Your comment cracked me up. Don’t drop the lap top or they may see your bare bum and more! Wink

No. I only got dressed when I had a zoom call from the surgeon, who may operate on me.. didn’t want to be in my dressing gown lol.

eaglejulesk · 03/04/2020 07:33

Yes, I've been unemployed for much of 19 months, but still get dressed every day - don't get up very early however!!!

screwcovid19 · 03/04/2020 07:36

Yes, shower every morning, wash hair every second day and make up most days like always.

user1486915549 · 03/04/2020 07:36

Yes. It’s important for me to make an effort. It would be so easy for me to wallow in slobbishness as I live alone.
I also recently bought some nice , fairly casual clothes , and I want to wear them.
I now do my online aerobics in pyjamas and gym shoes before I shower and get dressed. It saves an extra clothes change !
Oh..and I am wearing bright colours to keep my spirits up.

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 03/04/2020 07:42

I always get up around 8, dressed by 8:30 even weekends and bank hols

I have always worked from home, so this situation not new to me

I like to change into pjs and dressing gown by 8/9pm; it feels nice then.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 03/04/2020 07:44

Yes, work are funny about me turning up naked

mistermagpie · 03/04/2020 07:45

I'm on maternity leave anyway, but was still getting up and dressed and putting a bit of makeup on because that's what I've always done. But now nursery is closed and I've got three children under five at home plus pets and a DH who is trying to work from home in these ridiculous conditions, I've given up.

I do shower daily but just put joggers on and the makeup has been ditched because really, what's the point. I feel rubbish.

Pineappletree33 · 03/04/2020 07:46

Yes. Quick shower and then just some comfies.
