Ps @millie2013 what a lovely garden!

Spudlet · 13/04/2020 07:43

Thinking of you and your DD, @Alsohuman - I hope she feels better very soon Flowers

Noooblerooble · 13/04/2020 08:19

Good morning everyone. Wishing everyone a good week.

I am getting myself together and have plans to do a lot of work plus more sorting out in my home. I stopped running as I was getting bogged down in my work so I hope I can more active this week. It does help me mentally even if it's just round the garden or something.

gingerbreadslice · 13/04/2020 08:49

@Bunnyflop I've been piling the weight on because of pasta too! I found this meatball pasta bake recipe when we couldn't get much food in and now it's become a firm staple in this house. I have ordered new batteries for my scales because I'm certain I've put on a stone since lockdown started Blush.
It's so easy also I try the meatballs with garlic and onion a little bit of Cajun seasoning. Boil up the pasta drain that off mix in a pasta sauce then add in the meatballs bake in the oven for 20 minutes with cheese on the top and it's done. I think we've had it about four times in three weeks!

Morning all and a belated Happy Easter - lovely to see Henry being our own Easter Bunny.

I've banned DH from watching the news as it was getting him down - we'll listen to the hourly updates on Radio 2 but that's about it. Ignorance really is bliss these days.

So grateful for the lovely weather and have spent the weekend reading in the garden and pretending I'm on the holiday that will inevitably be cancelled. We normally go away at Easter, last year we had a beautiful trip to Venice, but it's been kind of nice to just relax at home with no pressure to go anywhere or do anything. We and our neighbours have all lived here for decades and we've been having lovely chats over the fence.

Had a family quiz over a Messenger call last night which was hilarious. We all laughed so hard. It was a much needed release I think.

And our cherry tree came into bloom over the weekend from "thinking about it" on Saturday morning to this by Saturday evening...

Placemarking as I lost this thread temporarily and had to venture into the Corona board - shudder. Love the positivity here - really need it!

Bunnyflop · 13/04/2020 10:07

@gingerbreadslice damn that sounds yum. Pasta is my weight downfall. I keep eating it with creme fraiche, cheddar, salmon and lemon. It’s ducking delicious but not good for my waistline. I was laying in the garden yesterday and ds said ‘you’ve got lines on your neck, you didn’t have them before’. Yikes! He meant little neck rolls! Gave me a much needed kick up the arse.

@StCharlotte that blossom tree is beautiful, I’m jealous! I only just planted a little blossom tree, this is as far as it’s got...

Ducking! 🦆 hahaha

Pinkarsedfly · 13/04/2020 10:25

I’ve developed a little Buddha belly Blush

I haven’t been running for weeks - I used to do 5k 2 or 3 times a week, but now I’m using my Boris-a-cise for walking my Bostons. Poor little devils don’t know what’s hit them, we’re going miles.

Poor little Delilah sat down mid-walk the other day and refused to walk another step until we turned around for home. She’s only got little legs Grin

Alsohuman · 13/04/2020 10:54

Morning all, here’s your Telegraph good news link, hope it works.

digitaleditions.telegraph.co.uk/data/193/reader/reader.html?#!preferred/0/package/193/pub/193/page/34/article/32523

It’s so much colder here this morning, jumper back on today. No news from our girl in solitary yet, hopefully she’s still asleep.

purpleme12 · 13/04/2020 10:56

That link just brings me to the subscription page

DianneWhatcock · 13/04/2020 10:56

@Alsohuman

Wishing your dd a speedy recovery 💐

Alsohuman · 13/04/2020 11:08

Thank you Dianne. Sorry the link doesn’t work, doing it the same way was fine yesterday. It won’t allow me to copy and paste either. 😢

DianneWhatcock · 13/04/2020 11:39

Awww bugger @Alsohuman thank you for trying anyway.

I'm thinking of getting the months free trial to access it

I also wanted to share a thread I stumbled across earlier ...I don't know how to link to it on my phone but it's generally a very positive read. A lot of posters are sharing their experiences of having confirmed covid (Mostly hcps) and it's reassuring . Attached a pic of what the post is called

Can’t remember who posted the story of their DD licking her Easter egg before handing it to them but it appears my DD has similar tactics... xD

Much colder today here, although DH and DS are both insisting on keeping their shorts on. I went out running in long sleeves and leggings though! Saw a few people out and ended up running along a field margin then jumping into a dry ditch, wiggling through a hedge then jumping over another ditch in the name of social distancing Grin At least it’s keeping me fit?

Some positive news - it looks like Spain is beginning to gradually release its lockdown. I really hope this is successful for them. Perhaps it will provide a blueprint for us to do the same, in time. It makes me feel hopeful, watching others start to emerge from this.

magimedi · 13/04/2020 13:58

@DianneWhatcock

here's link to the thread you posted about:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/3877895-The-people-who-ve-Had-It-but-been-actually-TESTED

Yes, it is reassuring to read that one.

DianneWhatcock · 13/04/2020 14:02

@Spudlet

I'm a runner and I've had to do this ! I've even had to run out into the road and all sorts. I'm finding no one is moving for me, I'm always having to move for them It's annoying. Don't wanna moan on this thread though so will look at the positives which is that it's extra exercise while also keeping myself and others safe 😂

DianneWhatcock · 13/04/2020 14:03

Fab thanks @magimedi

Definitely a good read x

Spudlet · 13/04/2020 14:20

@DianneWhatcock People are pretty good at giving and taking around me I’m finding. I’ve had a couple of people hide in the hedge to give me space as well, including today. But the people I passed today didn’t look quite up to ditch-hopping so thought it was best I did the energetic stuff instead!

gingerbreadslice · 13/04/2020 15:15

@Bunnyflop Grin I've got neck rolls too and back fat I hate it so much it feels all awkward under my bra! I have to stop eating i wouldn't mind so much if it was healthy stuff but it's not!
I love your blossom tree too.

Katymaus · 13/04/2020 15:34

Another thank you for the mild confirmed cases link. I'm avoiding other threads so wouldn't have seen it without the mention on here. Really helpful and encouraging

Katymaus · 13/04/2020 15:37

@Bunnyflop and while I'm on the Thank yous, our household lives Henry. He's made our day several times recently!

DianneWhatcock · 13/04/2020 15:43

@Katymaus you're welcome I'm glad it's helping people it certainly did me

Bunnyflop · 13/04/2020 16:34

@Katymaus I’m glad Henry spreads some cheer!

Like the bastards that we are we tried to get Henry to go up on his back legs by dangling lettuce so we could capture his little front legs crossing over as it is the cutest thing. Sort of managed it!
