Happy Easter lovely Henry - looking gorgeous as always.
It’s a sunny day here, more washing on the line I think and younger ds will be mowing the lawn ( after picking up all the dog poo!)
Older ds did a Morrison’s shop yesterday afternoon and got most things for us - so we are stocked up ( the cupboards were getting bare) and yesterday morning I had a brilliant fruit and veg delivery which I will definitely place again. Wish I’d taken a piccy of it.

Millie2013 · 12/04/2020 11:54

DD managed to find the Easter eggs before the squirrels did, thank goodness 😂

Happy Easter all Smile

I’m very fuzzy today - got to bed and up on time but awake for three hours in the night - I keep walking into rooms and forgetting why I’m there... luckily dcs are happy with screens and chocolate and not too much needs doing!

Callybrid · 12/04/2020 12:06

Oh, I also have a distraction recommendation - it’s a podcast called ‘Phoebe reads a mystery’ where the host of Criminal podcast reads a chapter of an Agatha Christie book each episode. I haven’t got into audio books for one reason or another but enjoying having this one chapter at a time whilst I’m washing up etc.

Spudlet · 12/04/2020 13:02

Afternoon all. We’ve had a nice morning here. DH took DS for a bike ride (on my beloved bike, because the straps on DSs bike seat attached to DHs bike have broken and we can’t swap seats between bikes, annoyingly) while I walked ddog. Then before they got back I had time to print off and colour in some Easter eggs and set up a hunt in the garden - too warm to hide chocolate, they’d have been a puddle! DS really enjoyed finding them and wants to do it again 😊

Just trying hard to keep on keeping on here. All we can do, really.

M0reGinPlease · 12/04/2020 14:35

@Millie2013 your garden is gorgeous!

We've had a lovely day here. About to enjoy dinner (we fished a bottle of Prosecco out of the back of the cupboard!) and and a long walk before home for pudding.

I'm so grateful for all of the beautiful family and friends who have dropped off Easter treats for DD.

Also, was chatting to our neighbour over the fence this morning. She's a (non-clinical) manager at our local hospital and the feeling there is this weekend is the peak. Fingers crossed this time next week we could have seen real improvement. Keep swimming everyone, we'll get there.

DianneWhatcock · 12/04/2020 16:34

@M0reGinPlease

My good friend who's a nurse has said that as well re the peak being this weekend

Can't remember if I've already said that on here but 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

She has also said that while this weekend has been rough, there's actually been less admissions than they expected.

DianneWhatcock · 12/04/2020 16:34

Admissions for corona I mean x

Spudlet · 12/04/2020 16:42

A nice thing - as DH and DS we’re leaving for their bike ride, my neighbours’ grandson and his dad were arriving (to wave through the windows only) on their bikes. You’d never have wanted a little child to cycle on our road under normal circumstances, but I’ve seen a fair few parents out cycling with their children over the past couple of weeks as it’s been so quiet. I hope we can hold onto some of these improvements - or work towards getting them again without the horrible circumstances that has caused them, I should say - once this crisis has passed.

Orangeblossom78 · 12/04/2020 16:50

My boys have gone out for a bike ride after measuring and putting markers on their easter eggs to see i don't eat them while they are out! Grin Such trust in me!

Millie2013 · 12/04/2020 17:19

@Orangeblossom78 I remember taking DD to a national trust Easter egg hunt when she was three. I offered to hold her prize egg while she played on the playground and she licked it before handing it to me 😂

Pinkarsedfly · 12/04/2020 19:57

Well, mum is home. She had a severe infection that brought on a seizure. But she’s home now, and all is well. Thanks again for the support Flowers

Alsohuman · 12/04/2020 20:07

Great news Pink, you must be so relieved.

Our girl is now in solitary in a studio flat her hospital found for her. She was tested yesterday but has classic symptoms and almost certainly has the virus. She’s bone tired but still upbeat, no idea how she manages it.

In brighter news, it’s been a gorgeous day here and I saw a heron very close up while walking the dog.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/04/2020 20:14

Henry says happy Easter. I just ate some maltesers while chilling and journaling in bed.

You're sure they were Maltesers, BunnyFlop

Grin
SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/04/2020 20:20

Alsohuman - hoping your DD manages to stay upbeat and gets well soon.

Pink - I'm so glad about your mum. What a relief!

gingerbreadslice · 12/04/2020 20:20

@Alsohuman I hope she recovers quickly Thanks

gingerbreadslice · 12/04/2020 20:21

@Pinkarsedfly Brilliant News !!!!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/04/2020 20:28

Very, very glad about your mum, Pinkarsedfly.

I had one of Those phone calls today; an old friend who had a fairly serious embolism last year rang me because he had to talk to someone. He had what the doctor thought was another one, and had to go into the hospital as soon as possible for tests.... Poor man was very anxious and unhappy (apart from anything else last time it took him more than three months to recover) and he works in a path lab so he is really needed at the moment.

But an hour and a half later he rang again to say it was just a muscle strain and he had only had to be in breathing-distance of four people on his entire hospital visit, so he had come home and put all his clothes in the wash and his mask into hot soapy water and taken a bath so he expects he will be ok.

I do like good news!

Pinkarsedfly · 12/04/2020 20:37

I hope your DD isn’t too poorly and makes a speedy recovery, AlsoHuman

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/04/2020 20:49

Oh dear, I missed that , AlsoHuman. I too hope she has it mildly and recovers quickly.

Alsohuman · 12/04/2020 22:21

Thank you all. I’ll keep you posted. 💐

tobee · 12/04/2020 22:25

Callybird I think that's Phoebe Judge that reads Phoebe reads a mystery? Everybody on my podcast true crime Facebook group loves Phoebe Judge's voice!

Very pleased to hear about your mum Pinkarsedfly and hope your dd gets better soon @Alsohuman.

For a minute @Bunnyflop I thought that was Henry doing the malteaser eating and journaling. Grin

Well, my Easter Sunday lamb turned out well I think. I found a lamb shank in the freezer and a couple of lamb steaks that were in different corners of the freezer. I hadn't labelled them properly and when I defrosted them I panicked they weren't lamb at all. ShockBut I cooked them and the distinctive lamby aroma filled the room. I did them with Mediterranean vegetables casseroled with pearl barley accompanied by more veg and garlic, lemon and oregano roast potatoes!

My 8yo woke up at 3am and came in for a cuddle. He went back to his own bed and fell asleep again, but I have been awake ever since. I think it’s going to be a long day...

I’m trying to keep the anxious thoughts at bay. I am very prone to catastrophising, even in less scary times. It’s hard. The thoughts crowd in no matter what I do.

I had a busy cooking day yesterday, and I think I’m going to get out in the garden today. I picked up some seeds at the supermarket this week.

Millie2013 · 13/04/2020 06:53

@Alsohuman, I’ll be thinking of you and your family, we’re here for a handhold if needed. Your daughter sounds ace, I can only imagine how proud of her you are and also how worried you must be. Just imagine that first hug with her when it’s all over Flowers

@Idris, DD (just 7) has been sleeping in my bed since it all started, she’s brilliant and is coping so well otherwise, she just wants me at nighttime
OH is allowed back into the fold from the spare room soon, thankfully we’ve got a huge bed, or we’d have to re-think!
I completely get what you mean about thoughts crowding in Flowers

It’s cooler here today and slightly breezy. Mustn’t grumble though, as we’ve had lovely weather this week. Need to sort the ponies out and pop to Tesco express for us plus neighbours and after that, I’m not sure...

Bunnyflop · 13/04/2020 07:24

@Alsohuman thinking of you Flowers

I’d just like to confirm that I did not eat Henry’s ‘maltesers’ and he didn’t do any journaling (as far as I’m aware, maybe he has a notebook stashed that I don’t know about). Grin

Had a pretty alright day yesterday, ate far too much chocolate, did an Easter hunt for ds around the house, and then he very sweetly did one for me by hiding my Easter egg and giving me clues to find it. We went for a decent walk and then laid in the garden looking at the blue sky. Pesto pasta for dinner. I must stop eating pasta though, it really puts weight on me!
