Did people clap tonight?

OP posts:
ExpletiveDelighted · 02/04/2020 20:24

Yes, lots came out here again.

GuyFawkesDay · 02/04/2020 20:32

Whole street here too!!

YES to hayfever! Thought I was starting with the lurgy but the sneezing and dry throat get worse when I've been outside so....

DaffodilThatch · 02/04/2020 20:32

Thanks for new thread! I clapped but not for long as was late getting DD to bed. I asked her to do it with me and she got a bit scared, not sure why! I thought it might bw something she might remember when she's older. Anyway, there were fewer people than last week I think though.

Bunnyflop · 02/04/2020 20:37

Didn’t clap as was trying to get ds in to bed! He was all pumped off on Joe wicks workouts and wanted to carry on.

tobee · 02/04/2020 20:38

Was a bit quieter and shorter tonight here I think.

DC2 sent me a vid, she is high up in a block in Central London. It was truly wonderful and loud and long, and made me quite teary. And she is not far from one of the largest hospitals in London, and Europe.

Hope they heard it.

Arcadia · 02/04/2020 20:46

We went out here, most of the street and the next street and some fireworks. It was lovely. We live very near the hospitals. Chatted to COVID Dr who lives 2 doors along, even though our city is supposed to be ahead of the curve (just behind London) he said it's not that busy with plenty of empty beds which I found very reassuring.

whenwillthemadnessend · 02/04/2020 20:53

Glad to see new thread 😊

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/04/2020 20:53

My good news today is that I made rice with onions and mushrooms in it cut up fine, to go with two pork chops out of the freezer, and it was a wow of a success! Yay Me!

(and I'm making sure I don't lose this thread, by posting on it)

Listening to Fresh Cream now, with Disraeli Gears lined up to follow. It must be fifteen years since I listened to these albums.

IcanandIwill · 02/04/2020 21:13

Hi, joining in if that's ok. So glad I found the last thread. Today started low but definitely improved as the day went on. Managed some yoga, a bit of cleaning and the kids even helped! Some school work and good food. Clapping cheered me up and meant I had a lovely chat with my lovely neighbour. Concentrating on the positives that I have some control over.

purpleme12 · 02/04/2020 21:26

Joining too as I was on the others

StCharlotte · 02/04/2020 21:26

37/50 in this week's virtual pub quiz. Anyone else?

StCharlotte · 02/04/2020 21:32

Yes we clapped (next door is a paramedic for starters), and when we opened the door, I saw a friend had left a tub with loads of seeds for the allotment on our doorstep.

Alsohuman · 02/04/2020 21:38

We clapped too, so did most of the neighbours including three GPs. It was lovely, hopeful and optimistic.

RussianDolls · 02/04/2020 21:39

Hello everyone.

Nice to see there is a new thread.

I made the mistake of going on the main Coronavirus board earlier, wish I didn’t.

Glad to see more of this.

Pinkarsedfly · 02/04/2020 21:51

Seeking asylum from the Corona boards...

Why did I do it?

I found this article oddly positive - I am hugely anxious generally and I did think myself the other day his years of worrying has prepped me well!

Placemarking 💪

Bunnyflop · 03/04/2020 07:18

Do not go on the main Coronavirus board! No good can come of it! Just stay here where things are fluffy and nice. Smile

Talking of fluffy.... I was taking a photo of Henry having his dinner last night in ds’ room and he looked up at me like ‘for gods sake stop taking my photo!’ So that’s picture one. Picture two is when he went and laid down under ds’ bed thirty seconds later, presumably for some peace and quiet. Grin
