Love Henry @Bunnyflop especially at Easter! Giving me warm fuzzy feelings!
Learning to adjust my expectations of what can be 'achieved' in a day. Today we've done a bit of music practice, some jigsaws, lunch, walk (tossing coin at junctions to decide direction to go to make more interesting for DD10 - quiet residential streets), then I had a snooze on the sofa, then we baked cookies.
DH on phone has said work at hospital is quieter today so that's a good sign.Smile

Loving Henry, he’s worth his weight in gold.

Our girl’s temperature has stabilised. She feels as if there’s a weight on her chest today but is still resolutely cheerful and says the daily videos of our dog doing daft things are really helping.

A silver lining story for you. My friend has bladder cancer and her surgery has been cancelled because they can’t guarantee an ITU bed, so she’s having radiotherapy instead or as a holding measure. Apparently its success rate in eradicating the cancer is as good as the brutal surgery so she may be fine without it. That news made my day.

Millie2013 · 13/04/2020 20:35

@riotlady that was my DD Grin

Millie2013 · 13/04/2020 20:38

@Alsohuman that’s great news re your friend
Everything crossed for your daughter, seeing your dog being daft must be such a tonic

Arcadia · 14/04/2020 08:20

Good morning all hope you all slept well!

Some tentative good news on radio 4 this morning. Partial return to work in Spain, some small shops reopening in Italy and Austria (including baby and children's clothes shops and book shops). Critical care admissions have dropped for ten consecutive days in Italy now. Primary schools going back in Denmark.
In fact primary schools seem to be the early part of the coming out of lockdown plan generally, so those of you with primary age children hang in there! (Including me but I like having mine around for the company at the moment!)
Their experiences in coming out of lockdown gradually are going to help to guide us when we get there.

Arcadia · 14/04/2020 08:21

Funny news from Kenya. Those found illegally drinking in bars during lockdown included ... policemen, politicians and a magistrate!

Orangeblossom78 · 14/04/2020 08:48

Yes at least we have the experiences of those countries to guide us a little Flowers fingers crossed it goes OK.

Spudlet · 14/04/2020 09:24

Some positive news from the symptom tracking research project - the number of people reporting symptoms in the UK has fallen. The number of calls to 111 has fallen as well. They say it will take a couple of weeks for those numbers to start translating into a fall in admissions or deaths, but it’s a start and shows that the lockdown seems to be working.

Bunnyflop · 14/04/2020 09:46

Some good news there then. Hopefully more to follow.

Hope you’re all ok today. I’m doing good off the cocodamol, hooray! Also I’ve been doing at least 45 mins of walking a day which would have been unthinkable a few months ago. I put the success down to the curable app for showing me that the pain is caused by my brain and it’s that which needs work. 💪

Arcadia · 14/04/2020 09:48

And bear in mind @Spudlet that is now over a week old so the knock on effect should start to come through to hospitals etc within the next week or so Smile

Millie2013 · 14/04/2020 10:21

Love these snippets of good news❤️
Another lovely day here, old pony is out without his rug, sois very happy

Friend who works for Tesco managed to get me some play sand, so plan for today is to sort the sandpit
But first I’m making soup for our friend with MND and I’ll take DD to drop it off. DD has also painted a rainbow picture for friend’s window and we’re going to spot rainbows en route to her house
The fairy garden lawnmower is hard at work

@millie2013 🐇 💕 😊

Spudlet · 14/04/2020 11:16

On a super-trivial note, I’ve just ordered a jumpsuit from Dorothy Perkins. Just musing how best to hide it from DH, what with him working from home the whole time 🤔 The whole ‘What, this old thing?’ gambit isn’t going to be a goer, is it... it’s made me feel a bit happier though, knowing I’ll have something nice to wear when we’re allowed out again.

It was half-price, so I don’t feel too bad about it Grin

Orangeblossom78 · 14/04/2020 11:21

I won;t mention this elsewhere, but there seem to be some good deals online, such as Gap for example. To get delivered I mean. Enjoy the jumpsuit!

Callybrid · 14/04/2020 12:26

@bunnyflop - that is great about the cocodamol and the walking! So glad for you; sounds like a really positive change

I like the idea of ordering half price jumpsuits... well not jumpsuits exactly - never going to suit me with my ridiculously long body and short legs - but something nice. The days I take the time to do up my hair properly and put on clothes I like I feel much better and I’ve noticed I don’t really have many clothes I like.

Bunnyflop · 14/04/2020 13:02

Oh lord don’t get me started thinking about clothes, I’ve already ordered a fuckload of plants! Talking of which, some are arriving this afternoon.

Our food delivery just arrived- a ridiculous amount of food and we can barely shut the freezer!

Bunnyflop · 14/04/2020 13:03

PS Henry is chilling today

Alsohuman Flowers for your friend and for your girl.

Bunnyflop utterly thrilled for you. So glad Curable has helped. Alan Gordon, who advises Curable, also put together a wiki of extra resources which is worth checking out if you need any extra help. Google 'tms wiki'. I have a friend with fibro and she's refused to do Curable for a year. It is so hard and frustrating as I know there is a decent chance it could help her a lot. Based on your success I am going to send her another (sensitively worded) email.

I am emotional today. I'm fine I'm just needing a sad day so I've retreated to bed. Easter and grieving having no family of my own has floored me. It swamps me from time to time. I had a lovely email from a friend checking up on me though and I am going to spend my afternoon making my friend a birthday present so I will be ok.

gingerbreadslice · 14/04/2020 13:55

@Noooblerooble I hope you feel better later what are you making for your friend? I'm not creative at all I've just started painting the toilet blue and now I really regret it and have no idea why I've done this Shock. It was lovely fresh white and airy in their now it looks like a little smurf prison

Alsohuman · 14/04/2020 13:59

Be kind to yourself Noodle, we all need down days. 💐

Great news on the cocodermol front Bunny, well done you.

And more good news, we’ve just got a one word text from our girl - negative! Obviously she’s still poorly but we can put our worst fears behind us for now. Thank you for your kindness. It helped a lot.

NK346f2849X127d8bca260 · 14/04/2020 14:06

I am feeling awfully agitated today, my teen ds had what we think was the coronavirus two weeks ago, he only came downstairs yesterday, not sure why now I am feeling so anxious, maybe because I am still wondering if any of the rest of us will get it.
I am sitting in garden at moment, a bit chilly but hoping it mKes me feel calmer.

Orangeblossom78 · 14/04/2020 14:18

It really can help to get outside can't it even for a walk. Such a sunny day here but a bit fresher which is nice.

captainoftheshipwreck · 14/04/2020 14:24

@Noooblerooble Flowers
I had one of those days on Friday, just felt totally overwhelmed and went to bed for afternoon. The next day was better. Be kind to yourself , have a nice coffee or chocolate or whatever helps!

Bunnyflop · 14/04/2020 14:46

@NK346f2849X127d8bca260@Noooblerooble thank you so much for the info!!

I’m sorry you’re having a rough day, we all have them no matter our circumstances. I hope you’ve got some chocolate/ cake/ wine whatever of those is your bag at hand. 💐

@gingerbreadslice I’m sorry but the smurf toilet made me laugh 🤭

@alsohuman I’m glad it was negative!

Alsohuman · 14/04/2020 14:50

The smurf prison made me laugh too.
