Someone was asking where the hospital graphs are from. Theyre from here
www.ft.com/stream/e191658e-c66a-45bc-9bad-343bdc4210b3
But you have to subscribe to access them.
However here is the latest graph.
Also interesting that stockholm is also following the same path without a lock down

That's interesting about Stockholm/Sweden @Jrobhatch29 as it ties in with that original hypothesis from one of the Oxford Colleges that far more may have already had it including asymptomatically without knowing than we think and that the curve would flatten off naturally even without lockdown.
If lockdown was waste of time government won't want that coming out!

Noooblerooble · 19/04/2020 11:10

I liked this in the Mail today. It's definitely not official but it sounds like a lot of ministers are pushing for something that looks like this. I think it looks v sensible.

It is so beautifully sunny here. I've had a lovely walk and am going to do some gardening now. Planting out peas and getting tripods up ready for things like runner beans and cucumbers to go in later.

Idris I'm so very sorry. How difficult to be grieving at this horrible time.

@BooseysMom Thanks, he's fine now.

Big squeezy hugs to everyone who needs one today.

Bit hungover today after hosting a quiz on zoom last night for family including nieces, nephews and cousins - there were 17 teams! It was all a bit chaotic but is now going to be a weekly thing. It's so brilliant how technology has brought us together.

Beautiful day today. Looking forward to our Sunday roast being delivered by the pub and then DH and I are going for a walk after lunch. I'm "vulnerable" (but not shielding) and combined with working from home full time, I haven't been out for weeks. Can't wait!

And helpful kittens are being neutered and chipped this week. Good news for us, if not for them!

Bunnyflop · 19/04/2020 11:58

@noooblerooble have a nice time gardening!

We set our butterflies free today. Only three made it to the end out of five chrysalis- one never hatched and one had a severely deformed wing, could barely move and we decided to end its suffering. Hopefully they’ll have happy lives!

Hello everyone, love and hugs to all who need it today.

We should have been going away today but had previously cancelled and got credit for our next holiday. We spent yesterday being productive looking at cruises online and have just called our travel agent to book for one that covers my birthday and our big wedding anniversary next year. I posted on another forum and someone jumped on to say that we shouldn't be thinking of holidays whilst all this is going on, and we'll still have restrictions then so we're wasting our money. I felt quite flat after that.

Nowabruptly · 19/04/2020 12:53

Just wanted to say hello and thank you to all you lovely people for your positive posts. Maybe all these efforts to see the positives, and the extra support we are all giving each other, will have an impact on how we approach life after lockdown too! Sending hugs to anyone who’s having a bad day x

Nowabruptly · 19/04/2020 12:55

@MinesaPinot don’t feel flat. It’s great that you’re planning ahead and have something lovely to look forward to. What a mean response that was from the person on the other forum. But I suppose maybe they were having a bad day and lashed out xx

DianneWhatcock · 19/04/2020 13:14

@Noooblerooble omg I REALLY really hope that is true . It sounds sensible to me (clearly I'm no expert haha)

Spudlet · 19/04/2020 13:16

@MinesaPinot You can think about whatever you like! Honestly, some people have really revealed their inner arseholes over this. Talk about little Hitlers. It’s really making me look at some people very differently - I hope they’ll look back on this time and feel embarrassed by how they behaved.

I think having future plans is very healthy - I have a few myself. You crack on.

Sojo88 · 19/04/2020 13:18

MinesaPinot

Please don't feel down. Now is when we should be thinking of the future and making exciting plans - it's helpful to look to the future and have things you can look forward to. There may be some restrictions in place for a while but I don't think holidays will still be cancelled next year!!

Spudlet · 19/04/2020 13:25

Also, think of it this way - that company has your money now. They can use it to pay wages and keep afloat. You’ve supported them through a tough time. If it has to be cancelled then so be it, but you’ve done a good thing now for those people.

I use the same logic when I booked my July race - ok, it quite possibly won’t happen. But that business has had a little bit of cash flow and since I want them around afterwards, I’m happy for them to have it.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/04/2020 14:30

I don't know whether I feel positive or guilty....

Every year we drive across Europe through seven countries to go on holiday, and back before Christmas we booked our nights in various B&Bs and hotels for that trip. It is projected to start on 7th July.

All the rooms can be cancelled any time until the day before we are due to stay in them, but we haven't cancelled them yet. Are we a] wonderful optimists to hope that all seven countries will allow us to drive through them at that point or b] being unkind by offering hope of income to a lot of small businesses if we then have to cancel because (say) ferries are not running between here and France, or the Danes have still got closed borders so there is no point even trying to make the trip? No-one has been in touch to tell us they are cancelling our room....

MinesaPinot · 19/04/2020 15:41

Thank you everyone. DH and I went out for a nice long walk around the fields in the sunshine and saw the horses and donkeys and it made me feel much better. On the way back DH said ' well now we've booked should we get the cases down and pack'??! Um no, not at the moment LOL!......

Blerg · 19/04/2020 15:53

@Noooblerooble thanks re my son and exercise. We have tried that and other Youtubers but they are both a bit reluctant. Will keep trying!

Also interested in the screenshot from The Mail. Tallies with a Buzzfeed report I saw. Even if they are optimistic by a month, that would still be better than I imagined.

@IdrisElbasLeftTesticle sorry to hear that. What a difficult time 💐

IdrisElbasLeftTesticle · 19/04/2020 16:48

Thank you for all the nice messages and Flowers

I have to remind myself sometimes that whilst we are all going through something really shit, my path through it has been tougher than most, and it’s ok that I’m not ok. It’s ok that I cry every day. It’s ok that I’m finding it hard to work.

I’m trying to just appreciate the people around me - my children and my husband (although I long for a little peace and quiet), and my dad and all my friends who I can’t see in person right now. I’m lucky to have a lot of wonderful people in my life and I am very well supported.

chrissieone · 19/04/2020 16:52

A little bit of positive today, my other half went to the supermarket this afternoon and it was the usual , "Well, dont know how long I'll be cause I have to wait to get in and you can give me the list but don't know how much I'll be able to get" you can imagine ....
Well, he got there and there was no one queuing at all outside and he said there was a few people in there but he was able to get everything we needed and was in and out really quickly! Maybe, we have turned a little corner.

IdrisElbasLeftTesticle · 19/04/2020 17:07

chrissieone I went to Tesco this morning. There was no queue to get in. It was calm and orderly inside, and the only thing still missing from the shelves was flour. Pasta and even loo roll stocks were good!

Bunnyflop · 19/04/2020 17:33

Evenin’ all.

Have had a good day health wise. Extended my daily walk to go all the way to a very picturesque local park and had a little time to take in the beautiful view of the lake etc. It was lovely. And the main thing is- that sort of walk would have been unthinkable for me a month ago! I am powering up hills and all sorts. I feel really proud of myself. I also spent a while on the curable app and meditating. And put more veg than pasta on my plate at dinner.

Plus the sun is shining.

I thought to myself while looking over the lake earlier that as long as I have fresh air, nature and my family then I’m ok.

MinesaPinot · 19/04/2020 18:13

IdrisElbasLeftTesticle have read your posts and my heart goes out to you. Please know that we are all here for you - a hug, a rant or a wail, just let it go FlowersFlowers

Morning everyone, I hope you are all ok this morning.

I’ve been doing CBT to help with depression and anxiety. One of the last sessions covered following the plan, not the mood. The idea is the schedule in a balance of things that need doing, connection with others and things you enjoy. I was quite dismissive tbh but ended up going to a local hobby group last night (online) though I really didn’t feel like it. It really did help lift my mood, and still had despite getting little sleep. So that’s my plan for the week ahead too - plan and stuck to it.

Noooblerooble · 20/04/2020 07:44

Bunnyflop that is amazing. Huge well done to you. Curable only really works if you embrace it and that takes courage. I had a very bad evening but I'm ok now. I have a lovely week ahead of me and I went out for a lovely run last night as the sun was going down. Definitely going back to doing that more. It was lovely to push myself.

I need to plant more seeds today. My garden is going to be so abundant this year Grin I love it.

Millie2013 · 20/04/2020 07:45

Oooh, we’re due a new thread soon aren’t we. This one filled up quickly

Happy Monday everyone, just sitting on the back doorstep with bunnyfeatures having a cup of tea. Ponies next, then clinical
supervision at 10 (strange as I’m not working, but I’ve decided to keep it going)

Think I’m going to pop to our local M&S later, the food store is normally quiet and civilised during the week (I’ll lower the tone Grin) I just don’t fancy a big supermarket this week....

Bunnyflop · 20/04/2020 08:39

New thread now up- part 6. See you all there! I’ll reply to you guys in that one. X
