@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

See the news is just showing the horror stories isnt it. Now let me state now that I have categorically avoided the news. But I did try to tell myself two things.

The number of deaths in relation to our overall population is minuscule really.
And 80% of us are meant to catch and build herd immunity. It wasnt until I heard my GP say that this was what everyone he was phoning was experiencing that I started to consider what the real picture of this is.

The hospital situation is horrible because its unique and extreme. I wonder whether there are hundreds of thousands of GP’s yelling “another inhaler needed!!!” Me and @MooPointCowsOpinion were both struggling and getting told the same things. So the GP population must have a far better idea of what “mild symptoms” actually look like away from the extremity of needing oxygen.

longshot · 30/03/2020 09:05

@tootsey how are you feeling now at day 19?

@Casino218 yes I agree rest is the key! Today is the first day where I have woken and thought perhaps the virus is ‘out’ of my body. Every other day I have been able to feel it in me. I know that sounds insane but as if it were pumping around my blood stream. Hoping this more normal feeling lasts, although I’m exhausted!

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 09:12

I'm drinking detox herbal tea. Should be interesting.

Melatonin - I'm not sure tbh. If it's not a sedative type thing then can't see the harm.

OP posts:
longshot · 30/03/2020 09:17

@TheDrsWife46 I had a bad experience with melatonin. Took it for insomnia whilst on holiday and ended up awake all night with palpitations. I know a lot of people rave about it so I think could just be me but I did not enjoy it!

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 09:19

Probably a good idea to try methods that are more natural like meditation, relaxing music, bath, etc.

Hi! New here.

We are currently on week 4 here. Dh, myself and dd3 have been poorly with a cough and what felt like a sinus infection.

Dh has lost his taste and smell too.

We don’t seem to be getting any better. We’ve self isolated for the past month.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 09:23

@Woman31 sorry to hear that. Yes I'm resigned to the fact that at day 21 it's going to take quite some time to get back to anywhere near normal!

OP posts:
Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 09:23

Morning everyone . I didn’t sleep well because dd insisted on getting into bed with me .. she’s also been poorly all week with a cough too .
Woke up feeling more rubbish than yesterday . Groggy and hot .. chest pain not as bad for now though .. hope everyone else managed to get some sleep

tootsey · 30/03/2020 09:25

@longshot, I'm feeling a bit more normal. Still tired and slightly sweating but speaking without chest pain and can take a deep breath without it hurting.

I'm still worried about doing too much in case things go backwards, I'm a single parent with a teenager. The house has went to shit!

DogsBark · 30/03/2020 09:26

morning all, wanted to ask whether you think I should get the rest of the family to self isolate

on Wednesday I had a very heavy feeling in my chest and a slight wet cough (like v slight) and felt awful, like v v v tired. I'm asthmatic so that tight feeling not unusual for me. Took temp and even though I had chills, temp was only 37.2 so not a fever.

heavy chest feeling went away by Friday. Over the weekend, I developed a sinus headache and totally lost my sense of smell and taste

still have no sense of smell or taste and have woken up with a blocked nose

issue is plain sinusitis could cause this surely? I have no cough, still v tired....just not sure whether to believe or behave as though I have it or just assume this is a cold/sinusitis?

I must admit the lack of taste/smell is totally and utterly bizarre. i can only tell the difference between hot and cold at the moment. I might as well be eating polystyrene and drinking water!

Woman31 · 30/03/2020 09:26

It’s horrible isn’t it.

Dh is supposed to finally go back work tonight but he can’t. He was burning up again last night. He’s had it a week longer than me. Dd looks so pale :(

I feel like I have mucus stuck on my chest/back of the throat.

I’m so tired of it.

WearyandBleary · 30/03/2020 09:27

I’ve also had this for a couple of weeks but really on and off. It does make me wonder if it’s just my asthma getting bad. Neighbours keep having bonfires which doesn’t help I’m sure!!! Also I’m trying NOT to cough all the time because I am imagine I’m spraying the house with Black Death. Normally I might have a good old hack and then feel better. Who knows?

Woman31 · 30/03/2020 09:27

We also haven’t really had a temp, only a few times.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 09:30

@dogsbark yes sounds like CV but they may already have it as we can transmit before symptoms.

OP posts:
DogsBark · 30/03/2020 09:33

thanks @casino218

I think my son may have had it. I worry more about my daughter as she has severe asthma :( (she's 19) and I just don't want her to get this from us. So far she is the only one who is symptom free!

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 09:38

@tootsey my house looks like a bomb site now! I’m a lone parent to a 9 year old and a 15 year old

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 09:39

@DogsBark yes that must be worrying. Hand washing and cleaning surfaces. She's young so that's massively in her favour.

OP posts:
Casino218 · 30/03/2020 09:41

Close to end of this thread. Anyone want to restart another?

OP posts:
Porcupineinwaiting · 30/03/2020 09:41

@DogsBark can your dd keep to her room for the next few days? That will greatly reduce her chances of getting it if the rest of you have symptoms.

Porcupineinwaiting · 30/03/2020 09:42

@Casino218 Yes please!

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 09:47

Can’t find the new thread - can someone post a link?

pinkoneblueone · 30/03/2020 10:22

I am super wheezy today. Day 20. Had a lot of panic attacks yesterday I don't think it has helped. It's hard to know which is symptoms of this, asthma or anxiety. Had a really pants night sleep too. Chart pain still there I need to drastically limit my time looking up facts and social media. I am so fed up if being ill. My wonderful hubby is too it his breathing has been fine he's put up with me having the telly on all night being up and down for water and got up to work from home. The guy is amazing!

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 30/03/2020 12:06

Feeling quite frightened today.
Day 8. O2 is fluctuating between 92 and 96 heart rate all over the place. Can’t get through to 111, not sure I’d be severe enough even if I did.
