@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

OP posts:
KinderWild · 29/03/2020 21:29

Can I ask a silly question?

I have not researched. But have read that people with the virus 'shed'. DH is doing a bit of cleaning. But not in the room where I am. Although him and my son are popping in an out as they've already been exposed to me. If I am shedding in here and around the house when I pop down to see people, am I constantly reinfecting myself and everyone else. I fear that cleaning would exhaust me. What do you think?

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 21:29

@Porcupineinwaiting you can still have symptoms but not be infectious- hence the only isolate for 7 days. Are you worried about DH?

OP posts:
Cary2012 · 29/03/2020 21:31

The doctor on BBC news today said that many people still felt unwell for much longer than 7 days, and many of his patients for over 14 days. When asked about when they should go out, he said 48 hours after you feel completely well, and have had no fever during that 48 hours.

BTW, I found co-codomol very effective [apart from the constipation the it caused, but that's a whole other thread!]

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 29/03/2020 21:31

Does any one else still have fever after 17 days? Was feeling so good this morning but then the fever, constricted breathing and exhaustion came back and hit me again in the afternoon.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 21:36

@grapefruits hold on for someone else lotsbof people here on day 18-20 that may advise you.

Im allergic to codeine Sad

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 21:37

@KinderWild I think that depends on how many days into symptoms you are and how severe your symptoms are( but I'm no virologist)!

OP posts:
Spacecadetagain · 29/03/2020 21:47

@TheDrsWife46 ahh I was on from 2004 and then list my log in.. I was just plain Spacecadet... I used to be a mod until the GF thing! Glad you are able to find support here again .. we are all here for each other

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 21:48

@GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit: I’ve had more chills than fever - fever has tended to be brief with red face. But still getting chills very badly on day 17 - one of the worst days for that.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 21:51

Yes chills is more what i have. Its just trying to find the right words. My whole body feels on fire, the cold brings me relief. My legs shake and cramp up, my body goes hot, my skin feels hot and prickly, everything agitates my body. The only relief i can get is to get into the cold like the garden. Or currently i have a pillow in the open window. Once I can manage it I calm down, but the despair and relentlessness of it is putting me in a dark place

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 21:56

Covid19 can f*ck right off!!
Every. God. Damn. Night!!
Day 6 and the breathing is worsening.
I've been fine all day!!! So annoying

UncomfortableBadger · 29/03/2020 21:57

Hi all, I have been exposed to a confirmed CV case and these symptoms have started 4-5 days later.

Day 1 - churning tummy, headache, dizziness, aches in legs, funny turn in evening when standing up. Temperature 36.2 throughout day.

Day 2 - churning tummy, intermittent nausea, ok-ish until 4.30pm then uncontrollable shivering & chills for 1 hour, with sweaty feet & odd face flush. Chest pains & chills started again at 9.30pm. Temperature pretty consistent at 35 degrees.

Day 3 - little sleep overnight, stomach still like a washing machine & temperature 34.8 at 9am. Dizzy in shower & intermittent chest pain. From 4pm, temperature 37 and lump in throat making it harder to breathe - not solved by taking steamy shower. Pains at bottom of both lungs at front; same height as bra strap.

I’m so worried Sad

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 21:59

Oh no @ofwarren

Its horrendous when you have a wellness and drop again. We’re here. Keep posting if you need to. I havent slept all week so im bound to be up. Rocking and pacing through it

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 21:59

Similar symptoms to me @uncomfortablebadger
Even down to the sweaty feet. I NEVER have sweaty feet.
My temperature dips constantly.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 22:01

@UncomfortableBadger it really is frightening but this thread if you can pace yourself to read through it DOES show you what other people have experienced day by day and it is all very similiar which helps me to see that there is hope

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 22:02

I'm doing the rocking right now TheDrsWife
The tightening is in my neck rather than my lungs it seems.
I get my 02 monitor tomorrow so hopefully that will reassure me.
I can feel burning at the back of my nose. I can taste it. Like you say, it's like being poisoned.

SegregateMumBev · 29/03/2020 22:05

Those who have had a change in taste or smell- my husband tonight said he felt the food tasted “soapy”. Even had a bowl of cinnamon Graham’s and they tasted soapy. Is that Similar to what anyone else has experienced?

UncomfortableBadger · 29/03/2020 22:06

@ofwarren the sweaty feet is very unlike me too. Also weird that my temperature keeps dropping, rather than having a fever per se.

Have spoken to NHS 111, who arranged for the out of hours doctor to call me - they want me to have my chest listened to in the morning. Fun night ahead before then though...

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 22:09

Keep writing on here @uncomfortablebadger
It's really helpful and there is always someone around, night and day.
There are a few who have come out the other side who post too which is always good to read.
Good luck for tomorrow

KinderWild · 29/03/2020 22:11

@SegregateMumBev my 'bad taste' has been like just before you're sick. but all the time. and I haven't been sick. my smell is there but less acute than normal.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 22:11

@SegregateMumBev Ive barely eaten but i liked at a ‘hot cross bun’ yogurt and it tasted like i’d sucked a rubber hose pipe!

@uncomfortablebadger Im actually jealous. I would feel very reassured to be even seen my a medical practitioner.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 22:12

@Casino218 sorry you’re feeling fed up.
I Know we are about the same stage.

Day 19 has been ok, I’ve massively lowered my expectations now. I am now fully expecting to be unwell for a month but gradually improving!

Today I have managed not to sleep in the day, have rested a lot but also managed to put child to bed and bath them, eat with family, make breakfast and sort washing plus play a game with DD and take a 10 min very slow walk!

I’ve got a way to go, my chest still aches but as I said last night I’m going to stay strong and get an early night,

One thing I said previously and I really noticed today is my symptoms are worse if I don’t eat, I get shaky and feel sick (even though I’ve eaten well mostly throughout) I think this is of note. I know some people are really struggling with food but eat as much as you can even if it’s soup!

And yes this group / thread has been an absolute lifeline!

longshot · 29/03/2020 22:24

To be fair I haven’t experienced the bad taste or loss of smell which will clearly have helped me to carry on eating!

confusednortherner · 29/03/2020 22:40

Longshot I was just thinking I've not been off food at all except don't fancy much till late morning. Might be helped by fact husband enjoys cooking and the room service has been very good!

Fairygodmotherplease · 29/03/2020 22:47

Jumping in. Day 17 and still short of breath. Dreading trying to sleep. It's been an awful 17 days and I've had 5 days of steroids, a week of antibiotics and gone through 2 blue inhalers but not actually seen and been reassured by anyone that my symptoms are manageable at home.
Obviously, it will last however long it will last and the misery goes on!
