@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

OP posts:
treedragon · 27/03/2020 17:49

Who is frequently checking their temperature. I’m fast using the battery on the ear one and I think it’s making my ears hurt. So far highest has been 37.3

Babdoc · 27/03/2020 17:54

I tried to post on the last thread, but MN said it was closed. Just wanted to thank Littleninja for the kind wishes, and say I’m glad her cat is being a comfort. My own madam regards staff illness as an inconvenience, but she does come and purr on my bed, which is great company when scared at night living alone.
Kayaking, thanks for suggesting a psalm. A lot of them are comforting in tough circumstances. My lovely minister has just left a lentil bake and chutney on my doorstep- she ought to run a takeaway service as well as church, she’s a great cook!
Putting all of you in my prayers, and best wishes for us all to recover as soon as possible. God bless.

Needsomegoodnews · 27/03/2020 17:57

@longshot Hope you’re doing ok
@user34254356 the diarrhoea can be a side effect of the antibiotics if you’re on them now

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 17:58

@user34254356 . I can still count to thirty quickly . My temp has been up and down for 14 days .. yesterday it was normal and I didn’t feel too bad .. today it’s been hovering around 37.6

stayathomegardener · 27/03/2020 18:00

@ofwarren it's hard to know when to start counting but likely day 15.

treedragon · 27/03/2020 18:04

My temp seems to vary across the day and is different in each ear.

user34254356 · 27/03/2020 18:07

thanks @notsogoodnews, makes sense as it wasn't long after the antibiotic.

SchrodingersKitty · 27/03/2020 18:08

I started a new thread just now then spotted this one. Anyone know how to get the other one close down?

tangledyarn · 27/03/2020 18:14

Just to bring a bit of positivity although I dont want to speak too soon because I've been so up and down but am 3 weeks in and today I feel so much better, still very breathless moving around but generally (apart from a couple of episodes) much less breathless sitting or lying, less pain, restriction and burning (although still there) and have managed to get up for 2 hours this morning and am up again now. I read that it can be a very long illness so try not to worry if you are still feeling quite poorly after a couple of weeks xx

notangelinajolie · 27/03/2020 18:16

Thank you @Casino218 for the new thread.

And @longshot I'm thinking of you. Hope you are ok Flowers

I've had this thing for 17 days now and I can't seem to shake it off. One day I feel fine and then today again I am struggling with the elephant on my chest/breathing. Some of it may be anxiety but I can't write off the high temperature I had all last week as anxiety because the thermometer doesn't lie.

I am exhausted not least because my B12 jab is now overdue and nurse at GP surgery won't do it.
I never had a cough thank goodness because I feel right now that a cough would send my breathing over edge.
And what is it with my family? They all seem to think a good walk in the fresh air would make me feel better. Seriously Shock
Love to all. I'm off to bed.

longshot · 27/03/2020 18:18

Hi all,

Sorry just come back from Covid GP centre. All obs ‘within normal range’ and chest sounds ok. GP says she thinks it’s Covid 19 and basically there’s nothing they can do / I can do other than rest and take paracetamol. Go back if no improvement in a few days. I am relieved it’s not turned into something else chest wise although still feel utterly grim so worried I’m not fighting it off properly.

Really glad for this thread as at least I know I’m not the only one in this situation.

Moonbaby321 · 27/03/2020 18:20

@notangelinajolie

I don't really have a cough either and told my GP that yesterday.
He said that even so with the symptoms I had told him (diarrhoea, breathlessness, burning chest) that they were all symptoms of this.
My family also think I am being dramatic.

longshot · 27/03/2020 18:20

@notangelinajolie we are on the same day! I feel the same. I cried a lot to my DH this afternoon and I think he realised how bad I feel (I think he thought I was almost over it). Anyway we shall get over this....eventually!

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 18:22

@longshot . So glad to hear you are ok . It sounds like you just need a bit longer to fight it . I didn’t know there were Covid 19 GP centres !

TheWooisStrong · 27/03/2020 18:23

Definitely feeling worse towards bedtime again. DH who has spent all day working in his office has had to cook dinner and do bath time. I was hoping to have a glass of wine tonight but think it will be chamomile tea and an early night.

notangelinajolie · 27/03/2020 18:29

@longshot yay your're back!

Covid centre? Is it a walk in type thing?

Keepdistance · 27/03/2020 18:35

I feel concerned I'm not better yet. I did feel better for a day.
Day 17.
I thought people got a dry cough that got wetter as you then get rid of the rubbish.

notangelinajolie · 27/03/2020 18:35

@TheWooisStrong Wine I was thinking the same but maybe not. One day when we are better I will raise a glass or 3 to us all.

Babdoc · 27/03/2020 18:38

Kayaking, I’ve just read psalm 91 - what an excellent choice, thank you!
It covers both the “terror in the night” and the “noisome pestilence” - How appropriate for those of us panicking with symptoms in the wee hours! I shall keep my spare bible by my bed tonight.

SchrodingersKitty · 27/03/2020 18:39

Great that you got that reassurance @longshot. Haven't heard of any covid gp centres near me, but something my gp said when I phone her suggested they were thinking of them - she said they 'weren't seeing respiratory patients at the moment, but that might change.'

I'm day 17 and have felt ok pretty much all day, except for tightness across very top of chest / breastbone, which has also felt very cold. Very weird sensation. I do definitely feel better today than for about four days. Really hoping it lasts.

The tesco online delivery I managed to snag weeks back arrived today on time and with not much missing, so we are feeling more secure about hunkering down for the next few weeks.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 27/03/2020 18:40

Flowers to everyone feeling ill and/or anxious.

The vagueness of information is infuriating. I've had no cough and may be no temp,( can't work the fucking ear thing,) but shivers and chills, elephant on my chest, burning lungs, diarrhoea, sore throat and weak and exhausted. Could be something else- who knows?! According to NhS unless it's cough/temp it's not corona - how many people with other symptoms will be going out and about rather than self isolating?

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 18:42

I feel like I need to be seen but not sure how .. am terrified at the thought of going to a and e

littleblackdress04 · 27/03/2020 18:44

@ScrimpshawTheSecond that’s exactly what I have had! Am feeling loads better today bar a tight chest and wheeze/ breathlessness- I wasn’t sure what to do but did stay home. Just worried I have passed it on to my family

notangelinajolie · 27/03/2020 18:50

@Moonbaby321
Yes, dramatics have been mentioned here. They have been generally nice to me but I think after 17 days it is getting to them a bit.
Hope you feel better soon.

Babdoc · 27/03/2020 18:50

Scrimpshaw, the burning lungs sounds v much like Covid. Every patient reacts slightly differently, and may present with more of one feature and less of another. There is a huge range of severity too, from literally no symptoms (but can still infect others) to life threatening pneumonia.
The only sensible response is to assume you have it and self isolate. Get plenty of rest - your immune response is highest while sleeping.
