@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

How did secure all those meds @FairyGodmotherplease

NerosFiddle · 29/03/2020 23:12

Evening all.

I felt ok all day. I was even able to come downstairs and sit with dc a while. I have really missed them. Even though we were only a couple of rooms apart.

I find at night when I'm trying to sleep that I over focus on my breathing. I can't take a deep breath and I become very aware of it.

I keep telling myself "this too shall pass". I just need a nights sleep and then I will have coped for another day.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 23:14

@NerosFiddle I try to manage it like labour. Whatever can take me through this hour, of this day and into the next. I pin all my hopes on that tomorrow is the day im well but it hasnt happened yet

Fairygodmotherplease · 29/03/2020 23:16

@Thedrswife46 I spoke to my gp on the phone.

stayathomegardener · 29/03/2020 23:20

New revelation tonight, hot bath + Epsom salts = less muscle tension in my upper back.

Little gains.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 23:24

Im gonna try a bath tomorrow. Even if i stay in it all day. I can cope with the chest pain. Its the fire in my body. But every day i get through is another day closer to being well. Even if i sat in a bath for a day, stayed awake all night, lay in the open window...im trying to manage it.

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 23:31

I'm going to try the bath too. I have the Epsom salts.
I'm worried about feeling faint though in a hot bath.

Anyone else who's kids had/have it notice them heavy breathing? My 4 year old has started that today.

Beckyk12 · 29/03/2020 23:39

Hi I’m not sure what day I’m on but it started with diarrhoea and sore throat, then headaches which I never get, now I have a hacking cough and pains Around the middle area of my back, also heartburn, am I meant to just manage the symptoms at home with paracetamol, I wish they would hurry up with the testing this is torture :( Mentally and physically....

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 23:40

@ofwarren oh god dont, my dd’s cough is petrifying me. Little dd is flushed with temp of 37.3 today. I cant cope if they are worse

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 23:43

@Beckyk12 I know its frightening. If you can go back on the thread you’ll see how everyone is managing day by day. It is seriously frightening when are are confined to home with no real medical intervention. Keep talking here if you need to

Tempnamelady · 29/03/2020 23:44

Ok so 9 days in, still coughing, sinus pain and loss of taste/smell. Antibiotics maybe not kicked in yet....

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 23:57

@TheDrsWife46
I'm not sure if it's because his nose is stuffy and dry though. Ive just ordered a humidifier. I could do with one myself anyway as the back of my nose feels dry

baroqueandblue · 30/03/2020 00:01

Two doses of doxycycline today, and I now feel like I have a bowling ball in the centre of my spine. Breathing not brilliant but am not panicking about it, just completely fed up with feeling so not-myself. The seeming open-endedness of it doesn't help. The answer to the question "When will I feel better?" seems to be along the lines of "How long is a piece of string?" I couldn't even say with any kind of accuracy when it started, since I've had virus on top of virus this winter and before the agonising pain started (day 14 tomorrow) I had a cough for ages and other virusy symptoms like headaches and earache. For weeks.

Well, I hope whatever this is and whenever it started that I've got at least to the point where it gets worse before it gets better. It occurred to me earlier that while I've been feeling so appallingly unwell the country has gone through this massive shift to effectively separate every household throughout the land. We can barely go out, have zero face to face contact beyond immediate family (save for the virtual version - a poor substitute in many ways), and some of us live alone as it is. We've seen the shutdown of so much of our daily environments and the disappearance of lots of supportive features of our usual capacity to function. In a sense that's bound to have a 'somatic' impact on many of us, triggering physiological reactions, especially if we would class ourselves as "highly sensitive people" (I know I am). Grief, for example, is often somatized as symptoms and ailments. All that is just to say that the virus itself is one thing, but the dimensions of privation it has wrought are another and the two are very much related and I certainly feel it's a double whammy for my poor body, which feels like a caged bird in some ways (even if I'm generally happy to spend lots of time at home under normal circumstances).

I hope you're all coping tonight and seeing even tiny signs of hope and the briefest moments of respite. They're like the crumbs we follow through the dark wood towards healing. Thank you for sharing so much of your journeys on this thread, I get a lot of strength from hearring your voices Flowers

pinkoneblueone · 30/03/2020 00:06

I am waiting on a call back from 111 as my inhalers are not helping my breathlessness and the pain in my chest and back is really sore again.

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 00:21

@baroqueandblue wow what a wonderfully eloquent post. You’ve captured exactly how I feel

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 00:24

@pinkoneblueone my inhalers dont seem to help my breathlessness, i just gulp and yawn trying to suck more and more air in. Let me know what they say

tangledyarn · 30/03/2020 00:27

Really struggling to get to sleep as so breathless again and pulse is high, not sure why..maybe I overdid it today, which is laughable really given I still spent the majority of the day sitting or lying down..but I did spend more time out of bed than any other day. Day 23 and this is getting really old.

EMichel102 · 30/03/2020 00:28

@baroqueandblue @pinkoneblueone

I’m case comforting somehow, l also have the same bowling ball feel half way up my back and breathlessness and some shivers / shakes tonight (day 14 tomorrow). I feel like when I start to fall asleep my body reminds me I need to inhale more.

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 00:38

Ive for the squits again. I feel like im likely to be sick too at this rate. Felt like this on monday. Ive only just seen the stuff about sore eyes coming to light. Last friday I woke up with blurry vision in one eye. Used drops cos I thought I’d scratched it gardening. The next morning the other eye was bad, so then I assumed I’d slept my eyes open and grazed them on my pillow!!!

Now its seems laughable. I used drops but now in hindsight was that my day 1?! In which case im on day 9

onlinelinda · 30/03/2020 00:40

I'm day 14 or possibly 15. Feeling a lot better, going upwards for 3 days. Sone slight pain in back for an hour this morning, but then nothing. I have COPD , so I'm mightily relieved. I even chanced a glass of wine.

Gogoberry · 30/03/2020 00:43

I’m on day 1 of feeling terrible. High temp (37.9) and bad sinus pressure and a tight chest. I’m on the shielded list. DS6 started with a runny nose and intermittent cough on Monday. I am really scared, not because of my symptoms but because I am so vulnerable to CV if that’s what I do have. Am going to phone GP in morning.

KinderWild · 30/03/2020 00:43

@ofwarren my 4 year old has been very snotty. And for a while that made his breathing sound a bit laboured. I do have a pulse ox so kept an eye on that but also counted his resps/min and asked him if he had any pain. He said no. He was hot and cold, up and down, but had no temp. I put him in a vest plus pjs and wooly socks and he's been having a warm bath in the afternoon to warm him up and also clear his nose.
Hope you're little one is okay xx

KinderWild · 30/03/2020 00:48

@gogoberry sorry to hear you're feeling unwell and are on the shielded list.
Can you take paracetamol? I have found sleeping propped up helped. And I have been taking vitamin c to help. x

EMichel102 · 30/03/2020 00:50

@onlinelinda that’s very encouraging! Did you have shortness of breath before? Did it just go away?

stayathomegardener · 30/03/2020 00:51

Why is it always at night!
I'm being kept awake as my breathing just seems harder.

Having a sauna... 38 minutes left, it's hard going Can't think of many things I'd rather be going less.
