Yes, dh is a postman. There are currently 28 off out of 58 in this office. Self isolating or sick.

NeegansWife · 26/03/2020 14:32

DH and kids all home, I'm NHS ( medical secretary at a large hospital).

fulltimeworkingmotherof4 · 26/03/2020 14:33

DD works for nhs and was going until today as now she has to isolate due to me having a temp last night. Feel like I've been run over by a bus, not left my bed all day.

Funtcase95 · 26/03/2020 14:35

DH is a mechanic however now with the new rules regarding MOT's and not leaving the house, they're doing very little however remaining open with full staffing. Worrying me sick, I'm vulnerable and we have a young baby.

PonderLand · 26/03/2020 14:35

Me and my mum are NHS and my dad delivers NHS sterile supplies. My partner is a camera operator and he is off until at least June. I am worried about my mum and I wish she did a different job.

TwinkleLightsRubberDucks · 26/03/2020 14:35

DH is still going to work, he is front line Ambulance crew/staff. he's an ECA (emergency care assistant).

It scares me A LOT.

halulat · 26/03/2020 14:46

Two teachers and supermarket worker ( student but working through this crisis).

yatapina · 26/03/2020 14:47

Yes, both of us.

Refuse collector and residential care worker.

OneHanded · 26/03/2020 14:53

Hi @z0fl0ra because of gdpr any customer facing workers can’t

Imonlydoingwhatican · 26/03/2020 14:59

Dh works for a tool hire company, diggers and porta loos that kind of thing. Most construction sites cant get suppliers as they are shutting down. So hopefully dh work will be shutting down soon

Mintypylonsfryingsurplus · 26/03/2020 15:05

My DH does building work for an insurance company ( people who have been flooded etc) he still being made to go in for minor stuff like repairing fences etc. Which to be fair could wait a few weeks/ tiling bathroom etc!!
It involves going into houses after picking up materials from suppliers.
Some customers are using common sense, refusing tradesmen and are prepared to wait, while others think its essential they get their jobs done asap.
He asked for some annual leave and was refused.
Absolutely crazy, it seems like everyone just carrying on as normal with the exception of very few.
As he only been in job 3 months ge doesnt feel like he can say anything.
Greed and money before lives.
For those of you doing essential roles or being forced to work, you are so brave and my heart goes out to you. Flowers

Crystal87 · 26/03/2020 15:19

Yes, cleaner in supermarket, two cleaners in care homes, traffic warden. Most people I know are actually still working.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 26/03/2020 15:20

goodthanks · 26/03/2020 15:27

Police officer, teacher and someone who works in transport for a supermarket all out at work, all concerned about lack of preventative measures in place.

AhoyMrBeaver · 26/03/2020 15:28

High street bank, reduced hours.

CoolCarrie · 26/03/2020 15:28

Dh is a doctor in Cape Town, he has spent all of his work time discharging patients who can go home to free up beds and equipment ready for when the cases start coming in.

Namechangervaver · 26/03/2020 15:29

Both still working.
Most people I know still are.

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 26/03/2020 15:32

OH is a gas engineer. Is meant to be doing emergency work only but is frequently arriving at jobs to find the customer has exaggetated their problem and just wants a radiator looked at etc
Worries me he is in and out of strangers houses all day long

Pishposhpashy · 26/03/2020 15:33

Yes, my brother. He grinds coffee beans.

TheOriginalNutty · 26/03/2020 15:37

Yep me. NHS Admin, DB1 postman and DB2 cash collection/delivery to shops and cash points so hardly any work.

Bloomburger · 26/03/2020 15:43

DH is in financial services. He is one of 5 in his office out of about a thousand who has to be at his desk. He's had the worst couple of weeks in 27 years. I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd had a heart attack last week, driving in, working for 14 hours straight then having to drive home under enormous pressure. We've been told he's not a real key worker though! Angry

UniKittie · 26/03/2020 16:10

My DH, call centre for a bank and been deemed essential. I have been furloughed. We have all been isolating for 10 days though.

Namechangervaver · 26/03/2020 19:38

Yes, my brother. He grinds coffee beans.

Pretty essential to be fair Grin
